DH and I watched the special and were thrilled to see our daughter's band director, Art Belfiore, and his protege, Kristen Stufft (our vet's daughter!) both on the show. We didn't realize the show was a year old. DD has never been worked harder than she has since she joined color guard (silks) with LAHS this year and is crazy about it. Since hubby is a Penn State alumnus, this would be heaven for him: her getting into PSU, AND the Blue Band! Me? I used to work at a little place called MIT. ;)
Great video. The drum line marching into the endzone still gives me chills. I wish Matt could do a continuous run and flip without stopping and setting up. It breaks the continuity. The 1986 drum major's flip was continuous, almost as if he was flying into the flip. Keep up the good work.
You're a great flipper. You flip like a gymnast. Very technical and consistent, and that's a good thing. Ever try opening it up without setting? You'd need a bigger mat, but I love to see that on your YouTube page. Just once?

Believe me I set up because it's harder than it looks, doing that is how I learned it.
The drum major's the the 80's were absolutely fantastic. Ron Louder, Seth Walk were all great flippers
