What they don't realize is that mascots are a huge marketing tool. They're a team ambassador, they drum up excitement for the season, do community appearances, and entertain children. Trust me, they're probably not there for the people that don't like them. This guy is just ridiculous. I'm not a fan of Steely, but come on. Get rid of all mascots? how about get rid of crappy sports commentary? This guy's an idiot.

The Pirate Parrot and Iceburgh are both awesome, silly, cartoony characters that are attractive to kids. Steely McBeam and, while we're at it, Jolly Roger, just look like pedophiles.

The Steelers are not even my favorite team and i can realize this, and anyone who is truely a Steelers fan should too

He's the official mascot for the Celtics. Doesn't wear a fuzzy costume, but is still acknowledged by the team as the official mascot.
