Let me get this straight: All Gundams lead to Turn-A, but if that's the case

Why do I get the feeling that the gundams design went from:

The Original Gundam of RX-78/2 to 00 Gundam just to get to Turn-A Gundam with it's...design? Strike me with lightning god, but I'm not already liking this

(Sorry Turn-A fans, but to me it's just ain't Gundam without it's trademark face)

Turn-A Gundam is wierd in that its suppose to be the sequel to like 4 seperate Gundam Universes.

Most however now put Turn-A Gundam's story line someware in the UC2300's (meaning it takes place around 2250 years after the 1 year war)

The mecha design's are differant somewhat to regular gundams, but I think most are really cool. if they'ed tried to keep the mecha's the same as the originals then it would just turn into seed - a modern repeat of the original series (sorry for offending any seed fans and don't get me wrong, I'm one myself).

just watched this gundam series , it's one of the better gundams (storyline wise) i also love the characters (specifiacally kihel heim and dianna soreil). too bad the way guin betrayed everyone at the end and the fact the entire battle on earth was what 2 episodes? (after they went to the moon). i still think its one of the better gundam but whit the worst intros (the first one sucked).

Easy, the show was shitty. The characters were a miserable sort, the mecha designs were garbage or they took good old designs and made them crappy and the plot was a mish mash rehash of Zeta and Wing which is a great disservice to the greatness of Zeta. The dialog was miserable to listen to as it was dull and repetitive. Only thing it had going for it was good production but the character designers were poor in my opinon. 00 is a lousy Gundam. It's not even close to MSG or Zeta

Without that series you wouldn't have this bastardization of Tomino's work and the sequel improves on the original. And 08th MS is easily the best Gundam OVA and is the most realistic Gundam to date. I think the Turn A is one of the better Gundam designs of the franchise. Sure, it really differs from the traditional Gundam in some ways, but manages to keep it very similar in some ways without merely looking like yet another knock-off.

I just finished watching turn a gundam and I got to say that it is really underated. The mobile suit designs yes are strange. However gundam is really about well developed characters and rich storyline. Which is certainly present in this series thanks to Yoshiyuki Tomino.

The storyline is solid,the music is great.but the mecha design suck.Even if Syd Mead is a great artist and all ,he clearly havent seen gundam series.Just like how dragon ball evolution was made.And putting super robot power in turn A or making it the most powerful,doesn't help much at all.

i havent seen this series yet along with stardust memories but what the hell is wrong with the protagonist's mobile suit? a gundam with a british moustache and butterfly wings? wtf?!?! that's just plain bad concept :(

I agree..not too crazy about this version of the Gundam. This is the only Gundam ever designed by a renown concept artist/futurist Syd Mead...who is responsible for creating breathtaking sceneries from Tron, Alien, and Blade Runner. Much props to the guy for his unparalled vision...but not for designing Turn-A Gundam.

the butterfly wings arent constant and they actually look impressive in combat like 00 gundams twin GN drive not that there the same in anyway

and dont knock before u try it this series is really good and the story line is really solid and the characters are interesting though some of the smaller characters u may at some point want them to die slowly and painfully but yes as i said watch it its really good and turn As design grows on u trust me and also watch stardust memories its incredible

y'know I think stardust memory is a little overrated. Not sure why people always recommend it so much. It's fine, about on par with 008 team
