  • i want to learn to alter genetics too-=)

  • we need to get super cats to get them

  • oh kill yourself

  • that mouse could run for 4 hours and 4 minutes? o.0

  • @codyjohn1551 Lots of people can, certain breeds of horses, wolves, and certain breeds of dog. . . it's impressive for a mouse, but not unheard-of in other species.

  • @Ursa585 Yeah....and can they continue to run for another 4 hours with just 5 seconds of rest? Nu-uh dont think so =)

  • @codyjohn1551 Wait, is that show?

  • @codyjohn1551 You see him running after he stopped for 5 seconds, my mistake of saying it was 4 hours, but he keeps running after 5 secs of rest. My point

  • mighty mouse has a drug that increases PPAR-delta which increase cell lipid metabolism. its hoped to be a drug that can fix the problem of obesity in the U.S.

  • So where is this being done with humans now and who is doing it?

It's the Space Seed episode of the Original Star Trek. The Eugenics Wars supposedly started in the 90s. So Trek was 25 years early in its prediction.

  • This is usually due to their elevated ability at fighting having a dampening effect on how "serious" the perceive a given threat. To use a human metaphor, real alpha males usually ignore the verbal yelpings of unstable and insecure males.

  • All "more aggressive" means is that it wins more of its fights. These more aggressive mice, unlike humans, only attack an intruder-remaining gentle with their mate and pups even immediately after a fight with an intruder. Sometimes being a better fighter allows you to behave less aggressively with "non-threats" or "non-intruders".

  • All I know is that this rat finds his way out of the lab and we'r fucked

  • Was this the mouse that was given an enzyme that utilizes fat as an energy source? Also, since scientists have recently discovered the Speed and strength gene, parents are eventually going to be putting there kids in sports that they will more likely succeed in. I think that introducing those genes as a virus will allow adults or teenagers a drastic change for human enhancement.

  • Before envisioning human mutations or drug design (and without jumping to big conclusions), it is worth considering that dietary carbohydrate restriction requires that you have greater reliance on gluconeogenesis for which PEPCK is the key enzyme so the results bear on low carbohydrate diets.

  • Unfortunately, it isn't possible to create genetic changes in adults. These modifications have to be made to the embryo, which cannot consent. I agree that it would be nice to be able to walk into a clinic and ask for the "super metabolism" injection for myself, but that's just not an option. More's the pity.

  • this sounds like you've created the Goblin formula.. I'll be waitn for this to blow up and the goverment contact me and offer to give me super powers to fight them. Nice one Osborn...

  • SUPER SOLDIERS!! :DDDD

  • i wish this could be applied to humans with many other genetic progresses... but not thanks to groups who wish to stop this are slowing progress down..... -.-

  • I know what you mean, it would be great to have this and the regenerating ability inserted into our DNA structure, that way we could enhance our own evolution...

  • Exactly! Advancing our bodies to such greate limits by changing the structure of our DNA, but seems like not much possibility in our life times

  • true that, true....so sad...

  • you think you know more than God?

  • @elghazoli I do, I don't believe there is one, so knowing anything sort of puts me ahead of that competition.

  • this is awesome, imagine that there is a mouse wich was engineered to have LUPUS a auto inmune disease, something unexpected happend the mice had the abilitie to REGENARATE organs, limbs, spinal cord.....now imagine combining this MIGHTY MOUSE with the regenerating mouse the result.......unbelievable

  • science is soo cool there are so many opertunities

  • actually its the PEPCK enzyme in the mouse - helps them make glucose from other things in their body other that carbohydrates.. cool huh

  • from this video that mouse is very fast... 4,9 km in 4,04 min, that is about 72 km/h, and that would make a cheetah look bad... do the math

  • yeah but he can't keep going for an hour, he probably stops after 5 - 10 min or so

  • The video counts the time it time lapse' over 4 hours.

  • you're right, still there's no way a mouse could go at

    72 km/h for four hours, that's 72 km * 4h and is like 288 k in 4 hours,i think that's a lot even for a mutant mouse.

  • You don't have to believe it but it still shows that "4:00:01" in the video I think it's too long for a mouse too but think about it, drastically changing the levels of one hormone has amazing effects and I'm on the side of the skeptic but the thing is you have to trust some information until you have proof otherwise so until there is documentation that this video is false then I will believe in the information presented. Not believing it without proof well that's just as bad as blind faith.

  • You should read the peer reviewed journal article if you are a non-believer.

  • its 4:04 hours

  • Yes, that's hours you moron. Do the math, not the meth.

  • lol its speedy gonzalez xD

  • let hope one of them things dont escape from thier box.

next thing you know they become a major pest, haha

  • great... all we need is old people with more aggression!

  • WAAAAAAA!! The future is scary!

The main thing that I'd like to point out is that the Mighty Mouse wasn't born it was "created." (watch it again and listen for it).

It points to the inevitable commodit-ization of such a technology -- life as a commodity -- which I think is much scarier than Olympians cheating.

Technology, like the narrators says can be a good thing or a terrible thing. Lets look before we leap!

  • What if they escape, Einstein?

  • increase muscle mass, stamina and more aggression. sounds like ample testosterone. Amazing tho...

  • this reminds me of the doom movie. where they genetically alter humans er martians.. and they get really aggresive and kill each other.

  • Humans are already like that, tyranttode.

  • 20 meters/min = 65 feet/min.. so in mechanical terms, what would the average human be running?

Here's a link explaining the science of this "Mighty Mouse." :)

  • i think that this could be used for super powers

  • I think that you're not allowed to have an opinion unless you've educated yourself on the topic, limeo23.

  • who the hell made up that rule,iggy4323.

  • everyone who has ever been irritated by stupid people making unfounded conjectures.

  • actually no there is no rule, and y should u have a opnion on anything? r u in congress do u make laws? y do u have an opnion in this?

  • It's simple: I happen to understand the science behind this very well, which is the basis for the opinions I form.

What I said was not intended as a rule, but to point out that I think what limeo23 said was rather plain.

  • perfect for military institutions,.. when we start testing on humans?

  • What happens if this thing escapes from the lab???!!!

  • run and run and run hehe

  • @scort8888 we all die?

  • stroieds

  • I am legend...Anyone?

  • Moron.

  • hahah

  • really cool.they should do that experiment on human already.

  • This reminds me of the Spider-Man movie.

  • I want one.

  • sick
