The original doesn't really change in tempo, so i'm pretty sure you might be talking about the dynamics here. I wanted to make this cover about the melody of the song so went for a very minimal and simplistic guitar line. It was an experiment in taking Yeasayer's original (which is fairly complex in terms of production) and pulling out what I see as its strongest element. I hope there remains some emotion even though it's pretty sparse.
