okay sparkles, youre not getting the "red ring of death" if you were thatd mean you have an A/V cord issue, your issue is the power brick, so you have 3 red lights... indicating you have a power brick problem, the reason your light turned red is because your brick is either hotter than a sumo wrestlers nuts in the Sahara desert, or the power brick is faulty. So whatever the issue was, it wasnt the 360 but the power brick. Im sure having your 360 open like that didnt help matters either
@MrBlackdemon90 found out that the mosfets in the 360 was bad..so it WAS a issue with the 360..the power brick wasnt hot at all..or faulty..it still works today..i WAS getting the red ring of death..the rrod spreads WWAAAAYYYYYYY further than just the av cord..and it does NOT hurt the xbox to run it like that for short periods of time..try getting your facts straight before you try to act like you know whats wrong..."sparkles"

had same problem not error code 1 its 0001 u pressed it 3 times and nothing happened until the 4th wich was 1 hence 0001 well thats a power problem which meens its shortcircuiting somewhere and my guess is as u have took the x clamps out it will be something under their wich has a positive polarity connecting to the metal outside wich is neautral, try taking it out of the case then plugging it in whilst off then turn it on to see if it is that if it is you will have to insulate parts good luck

@daniel1019912 if you get no power and your getting the yellow light from your power brick..more than likely you have a problem with one of the three usb ports..check them all to make sure they are not damaged..make sure nothing is touching that shouldnt

@truesteban090 sounds to me like your power brick is overheating and shutting itself off to prevent damage..try to clean out the power brick with compressed air and if that doesnt fix it you need a new power brick

hi ok mine has the same problem but it was fixed by changing one of the mosfets you can test it with a multimeter, set the black in the middel pin and red in the left , the mosfet is bad if the multimeter makes a beep look at the other ones and youl see only the bad part makes the beep so you can change it or some electronical guy but for better results you can buy the piece and tell someone that replace it or make it yourself

Okay. Some people may have the same problem as me. If the power brick is red, then unplug your xbox, don't take anything fro it such as the hard drive. Make sure the power brick is unplugged. Plug it back it. It should be orange. Plug your xbox back it and turn it on. Now the power brick should be green and your xbox should be on. I found many of these tutorials useless.

sounds like the mosfets. do the fans spin when you turn it on? you can still fix it but its a pain. you have to remove the mosfets from the board to test them properly.

Ok i had this same problem with my jtag and right in behind the power button there is a Purple circle with bronze wire around it and to the left of that there is 2 mosfets those need to be replaced and the xbox works after you replace those.
My best bet that its something shorting out. Make sure the nylons ar eplaced well and nothing metal except the case thats not soldered on the mother bored it souching anything,
@winmill15 i had the exact same problem. there is a small battery on the micro-chip with the LED lights on it. i luckily found the battery and put it in place with braces wax. you could probably order a new one for a couple of bucks. hope this help :D!
one of your IC's may be bad (intergrated circuits) due to the fix they are very very sensitive to static electricity. you may not even know that you had caused static shock on the system. or you may have applyed to much of the paste.

try a differnet power brick i had a 360 where i used the powerbrick that came with it and it would rrod but when i used a different power brick one that had the same voltage and everything it turned on and worked fine everytime but when i would use the old one it would rrod right from the start so try using a diff power brick

Its a short on the board, usually the MOSFETs. Check to make sure that you didnt screw on the GPU heatsink too tight here it is touching the little capacitors around the edge of the GPU. They are the little brown striped looking boxes. NO contact can be made on them.
If that is still going on, make sure there are no metal washers touching the board, seeing as you did the xclamp fix.
If not that, MOSFETs, usually the ones next to the CPU
If you have these symptoms: the 3RL, the player tray does not open and the fans start running but the moment they stop, I tell you that you have a short circuit on the motherboard where? because I check all the transistors and resistors of the plate by the top and find a few that did not flow and are very difficult to buy in the end choose to send the sat. If for whatever reason you can not send the satellite carries an electronic console you trust and that you check the motherboard, luck.

sounds like the mosfets. do the fans spin when you turn it on? you can still fix it but its a pain. you have to remove the mosfets from the board to test them properly.

@thedktrey my xbox has gotten the rrodof 5 times ive sent it to microsoft 5 times for two weeks and when it comes back it only works for a day even if i only play 1 hour

Ok i had this same problem with my jtag and right in behind the power button there is a Purple circle with bronze wire around it and to the left of that there is 2 mosfets those need to be replaced and the xbox works after you replace those.

My best bet that its something shorting out. Make sure the nylons ar eplaced well and nothing metal except the case thats not soldered on the mother bored it souching anything,

@winmill15 i had the exact same problem. there is a small battery on the micro-chip with the LED lights on it. i luckily found the battery and put it in place with braces wax. you could probably order a new one for a couple of bucks. hope this help :D!

one of your IC's may be bad (intergrated circuits) due to the fix they are very very sensitive to static electricity. you may not even know that you had caused static shock on the system. or you may have applyed to much of the paste.

not always a powerbrick issue, more likely a bridge or a mofset issue, had the same problem changed power brick like twice with no results.

try a differnet power brick i had a 360 where i used the powerbrick that came with it and it would rrod but when i used a different power brick one that had the same voltage and everything it turned on and worked fine everytime but when i would use the old one it would rrod right from the start so try using a diff power brick

Its a short on the board, usually the MOSFETs. Check to make sure that you didnt screw on the GPU heatsink too tight here it is touching the little capacitors around the edge of the GPU. They are the little brown striped looking boxes. NO contact can be made on them.
If that is still going on, make sure there are no metal washers touching the board, seeing as you did the xclamp fix.
If not that, MOSFETs, usually the ones next to the CPU
