You were just the best piano player ever. Rick your legacy, your legend, your voice will never die. Thank you for your songs, your smile ,your unique talent. Maybe you are in a better place now...even if that great gig in the sky...took you away from us to soon.
@blisster22 This is from the DVD "David Gilmour in concert" which came out in 2002. It's available online and rather inexpensive. It's well worth a purchase.
but i just had 18815 ... then it went on I went up ... I checked the DVD rec and it said 1h44min40 or so ... the 88 made sense it was double of the 44 to follow ... God speaks ...
then we stopped before at the pharmacy ... like black holes in the sky ... radio knobs black 2 in blue diode light ... then a star shined in front of me like a diamond shining in the night ... we stopped at the next mart and just then end of first track was reached by 2 secs over ...

we will never forget you man never i shed a tear everytime i hear a rick track solo or with the floyd .....................love the live ex smooth smooth.................cheech 33
I think Wright/Gilmour, Gilmour/Wright, however you want to bill it, had one of the most soothing, poignant and sardonic duets to ever grace the rock world. Their harmonies and the lyrics they sang is unparalleled by any other.
Thanks for assuming the risk. I tear up about Richard Wright, and this concert was one I wish I could have attended. Great music doesn't come from instruments, but from the artists and souls of artists who really put music above all else. It is so sad to watch this video, but it is a destiny we all must accept. R.I.P.
get back into echos in pompei .... Wrights keyboards were so important to the whole...
Later on in the PF development Gilmor's guitar took over, not to say that is wrong ...just the way it was... but echos brought out the mad mad keyboardsit ...Richard Wright..
thank you! i like pink floyd, i like the song. it's very amazing performance without lead vocal of sinead o'connor but cool lead guitar work by dave gilmour
I need to get this album. Rick is Truly 1/4 of Pink Floyd. It makes me mad that he wasn't filmed more during the live 8 reunion. The film crew treated him like he was just the keyboard player. He deserved so much more.
One thing that spoke best to Gilmour's character was his enduring loyalty to and friendship with Richard Wright. I have no idea what Roger Waters' problems with Wright were, but they were probably a reflection of Waters' ego as much as anything else. Wright seemed a trifle fragile for quite a few years before his death ... I don't know his complete history there. In the very early Floyd years, I thought he was as responsible for the group's sound as anyone.
I totally agree with you. In the end, David will be the hero of the piece taking care of Syd's and eventually Pink Floyd's interests as a band and help restoring Richard's creative energies in the 90's. How sad Roger, such a brilliant creative person, felt he had to behave a certain way because he wanted to go solo.
@Ptrgamb Roger Waters & Rick Wright, were the heads of Pink Floyd, they formed the unique floydish style, more than anyone in the group. I'm excluding Syd Barret, cuz I'm talking about the model Floyd .. to sum it up, I think in Roger's opinion the band can't work with 2 heads, only one head has to be responsible, so here the conflicts between the members with intention or without intention have appeared.
@Ptrgamb-Your comment speaks volumes here! I've watched David talk about how Echoes was the precise moment when the group started finding their direction so to speak(and their distinctive vocal sound with David and Richard) I think David and Richard sound perfect with their harmony in Echoes. I would even go as far to say that it may have been an epiphany when David and Richard discovered their vocal sound together.Their harmonies ARE Pink Floyd's voice that we immediately recognize!

roger is always told to be the concept album master of floyd but wet dream is one of the most heart felt interesting and understated concept albums i have ever heard, i wish he had toured one of his albums but i guess he was to modest to go around the world with his own name in lights

What happened that this artist of such incredible musical intelligence have such a lack of confidence? He didn't even like the sound of his own voice but gave us such celestial harmonies with David Gilmour. We never told you enough how much we love you, Richard. RIP. Always in our <3
