Jamie Gold is probably the best player in the world. It's a shame he didn't come back for season 5, but I'm pretty sure with the caliber of player he is, he would probably come back for 6.

i agree, whole heartily, but thinking about it....the whole thing was editted....so basing the opinion on what was on tv isnt realistic.....because they were playing him up as he was the most experienced player....why would they show him(cunningham) make a mistake?
Gabe and AJ both say they think William Chen's call is stupid at 12:26. Either they have no idea what they are talking about, or else someone has to explain pot odds to them. Even with a higher two pair, he is only a 3.3 to 1 favorite, and Chen was getting 2.9 to 1 on his call. So the call was a small mistake really, and you always have to discount for the chance that it was a bluff. So a 5% to 10% mistake. There have been much worse plays to criticize.
The call was a bad call because William could only win with a 7Q or T, and this is only assuming victor ramden hasnt made a straights ie if he assume victor has top pair or two pairs. If Victor already made a straight lie say a A high straight then effectively William Chen would be drawing dead.
Was a very hard hand to call with just a ten pair with that sort of board. Even William himself probably knew it was bad odds to call but he prob felt like gambling

Don't listen to Jamie Gold. If you bet with an A high, you'll only get called by the hands that beat you. Also, you'll be wasting money on a hand that someone could have slow-played, because you might get check-raised. It's better to check with A high or just flat call a bet if you think your A high is good. The only reason why you might want to bet with an A high is if you want to setup the table for a future hand, so that you can get calls, but I think it costs more to create this table image.

Matusow always shows his hands on showdown. His bluffs etc. Its really noobish to do it, once in a while is ok. But in a cash game, and evrytime. Good pokerplayer, but many strange mistakes.
