So what kit would you recommend for a 2011 chevy 2500hd if i wanted to fit 40 inch Super Swamper boggers and i want about stock clearance because i dont really like the jacked up look where you have 4 feet between the top of your tires and your fenders i want right about stock clearance once again...
To get enough clearance for 40s or 44s on the new '11 HD, you're going to need a substantial amount of lift. Due to the shape of the factory fenders 37s are about as big as you can comfortably fit with the 6.5'' lift and still have room to turn. You can look into fiberglass fender kits that have larger openings, but I still think a 40''+ tire will be too large. Due to constraints with making the OE equipment function properly, we won't be making lifts taller than our 6.5''.
@bdssuspension So if i per say downgraded to say a 40 or even a 38 and got a fiberglass fender do you believe it would work its just that i want to maybe have some idea before i go and blow 6,000+ dollars more than i already have on this truck and im not really worried about anything as far as warranties because i paid the truck off in full at the dealership so im just looking for something functional but can just destroy a mud hole
@turbochisum As with any suspension modification we recommend rechecking the torque of all hardware 50 and 500 miles after installing kits to make sure nothing loosened up. Some kits come with greasable bushings that you will have to grease occasionally. BDS IFS lifts offer CV axle angles similar to stock so outside of damage during wheeling, our lift kits are relatively maintenance free. If for any reason one of our components does break, we cover it with our lifetime replacement warranty
@ImSparda When BDS started about 17 years ago, it went by the name of Big Dick's Suspension with a lumberjack looking mascot named Richard (puns were intended). Over the years the name has evolved into BDS to be more politically correct, but we've also been known as Better Designed Systems, Best Damn Suspension, and so on.
I HAVE A QUESTION instead of spending thousands of dollars for the LTZ trim (just adds 2 lights i think) get the WT and put a bumper grill on there so it protects your car from wrecks and it makes it look more cool
@HD13POWER We spec the 2011 HD with the BDS 6.5'' lift kit to clear up to a 37x12.50. With the properly backspaced wheel, the wider 37x13.50x20 may clear with minor trimming. The OE wheels will fit back on after the lift, but will not work with 37x13.50 on them due to clearance issues with the new steering knuckles. Wheel/tire specs are as follows: (37x12.50 on 17x8 or 18x9 with 4.5-4.625'' BS)(37x12.50 on 20x9 with 5-6'' BS). Any other questions, give BDS Tech Support a call at (517) 279-2135.

not gonna lie. i grew up a die hard ford fan but these new fords look like shit. if you put a lift on it, it would still look like shit. i thought these new body chevys looked bad too. but they r beginning to grow on me. especially with this lift. bad ass truck.
@rdetrp Sorry but R&D doesn't release their designs, but feel free to look at the photos picasaweb.google.com/BDSsuspension/2011GM25003500HDTrucks# for ideas if you're having someone fab them up.
@PFCTurner311 So what cons have you heard about lifting a truck? Installing a quality suspension lift on the truck, one that doesn't max out vehicle operating angles and is designed/engineered/tested will retain or improve on the factory ride and handling. Larger wheels and tires weigh more which will decrease acceleration and braking, but that can be solved with new axle gearing, engine performance upgrades, and better brakes.
@bdssuspension Oh ok . Thanks for the info man! I just heard that having a lifted truck is just going to add a whole lot of stress on all the other components of the truck (ball joints and what not). But I'll be getting this truck and lift kit anyways lol When i come back from this second deployment i'll have enough money so If anything does happen to break, i'll just fix it :p haha I'm def gunna check out your website though. Nice vid!
@bdssuspension@PFCTurner311 not only that but the bigger tires need bigger axles for actually use OFF ROAD, after all of your mentioned upgrades your Trans is the weak link and in a TRUCK that TOWS and OFF ROAD well thats a ticking tme bomb no matter the make/model
@1chevroletcorvette We'd agree. While the truck runs great and is sufficient to haul a trailer, we keep our foot to the floor and heading to shows at about 6 mpg towing the show trailer. We picked it up early last year so we could be first to market with the 6.5'' lift kit featured in the video. Only gas truck were available for the first couple months of production
What gear ration is recommended for 37" tires on the duramax? Were gears swapped on this truck? I have the BDS lift on 37" tires and the RPMs are too low
@BrianNC81 Hey Brian, sorry for the delayed response, just realized I missed your comment. We're still running the stock gears in ours as well, and a gear swap is needed to pull our show trailer around. We haven't looked into the optimal gear ratio, but give one of the axle/gear companies a call and I'm sure they have a chart with all the rpm's listed in a chart, that's what we plan on doing.
@296jayce Either of the BDS shocks will be valved p/ application to give you the best on-road/off-road characteristics. That being said, gas shocks ride better and preform better offroad. Hydraulic shocks are not pressurized and slower to react as they build pressure once force is exerted on them. Gas shocks, like the BDS 9500s, are highly pressurized allowing for a faster reaction time and better response.
@bdssuspension oh o.k. so basically there both gud for both, but the gas go a step farther and is a little better off road... right? srry for sounding stupid
A sawzall and some courage. You can run our kit up to about 7'' before it starts causing issues with the CV angles, but the 38x15.5 tires on 12 wide rims will be into the front fenders when turning full lock. If you plan to swap the front bumper it will help with clearance, but may not completely resolve the issue
will this kit work for 2011 silverado 3500 single rear wheel?

I'm really going to install this 6.5" lift kit on my regular cab gas engine.
but I need largest Mud terrain tires
37x13.5x20 cant be installed ? other thing I have three options now in my regular cab.
1- keep the 17" or 18" OEM wheels (need to know the largest tires I can make)
2- upgrade to 20" OEM wheels which is 20x8.5 also need to know the largest tires
3- or upgrade to AFW 20X10 wheels (but I like the OEM apperance ^_^)
everybody will benefit if he knew the answer for this
Thanks
