then u will have to go and get the disc that u got with ur PC and have to wipe ur PC clean to its defauls and wipe everything off it. Or if u can still get into ur PC, just re enable everything and dont touch anything ever again seeing u are cluless about what ur doin!
This worked for me. After a while, and using readyboost, Vista optimizes it's boot process. Mine boots up very quickly and I'm able to launch programs immediately after it gets to the desktop.
its better using windows defender on vista and manage start up programs because every time when u use mxconfig in vista and manage start up programs anoying pop ups appear in the taskbar that say you have dusabled some start up programs and please it cant be a virus then weird will happen so use windows defender and manage start up programs for xp u dont have to worry its not annoying like vista and please dont put this comment thunbs down i am telling the truth ok its not virus its msconfig
This is for my fellow multi-core processing people:
In msconfig, go to the advanced options in the boot tab. Change Number of Processors to whatever you're packing (say for instance 4 hehe) and you shall see faster boot times. And be sure to run defrag and disc check to keep things running nicely.
By the way: I'm wondering, is there anyone doing the all core boot with an Intel Core 2 Extreme or better? I want to find out the boot time on that lol
ive got some annoying program i dont know where i picked up, nd every 5mins it pops up in the bar at the bottom of the screen. ive tried deleting, and uninstalling, but none of these have worked
msconfig does NOT work in windows 95, 98 and 2000 cause i tried it. This only work on XP and Vista. After you make the changes, you don't have to restart right away

msconfig works with all Windows operating system apart from 2000. You can download msconfig and run it from 2000 if need be.
Disable WINDOWS DEFENDER as this really slows Vista down.
