@bobheaton you're incredible! I wish I could play like that--and had someone to teach me. I found out when I hurt my back and had tiime to develope my strumming and chord knowledgte to years ago that I could strum AND sing together! Thank God for back injuries, eh? You have a gift, sir, go with it!
Just seen your message and in case you have not alredy found out the surviving film clips of woody total just under three minutes. The two clips are posted on youtube.
you know bob, you never fail to impress. even the t-shirt kicks ass. I hope that the people you hang out with appreciate that you maintain the heart of american music in your spare time. where do you live?
great playing. you should sing some though.. can you please show us how to play "Hang Knot" (Have you ever seen a hangman tie a hang knot?.. not the other song) and possibly New York Town ("I was standing down in New York town one day..") i think thats the name of it. I love woody so much. Seriously please post those if you got the time. you don't have to do a lesson just play them i can catch it like that. thanks so much !
Pretty playing Bob! Authentic sounding on your parlour guitar too. Woody is one of my favourites.. I'm half way through reading his autobiography 'Bound for Glory' it's a great read.. strongly recommended.
What type of guitar you got there?

Woody says in "Bound for Glory" that he spoke to a girl who used a thumb pick and that he told her he used a pick himself.
