  • Petition signed courtesy of one small voiced Canadian.

  • @scumsberg How do I go about signing this petition?

  • Props to schmatt13 for denouncing nationalism and charishing secular humanist views.

  • this made me cry b/c its so true and it can be applied to other causes too. it's so sad how ppl allow the stronghold of fear to paralyze them from fighting to protect their own freedom. i'm glad i signed the petition. i hope that others will find the courage to do what should be second nature to them:standing up for their rights!

  • If the UK government were discussing some 7th century church-based laws which restricted the way of life for Muslims, you can bet they'd soon kick up a stink.

    "No!" to theocracy !

    ANY Theocracy !

Religions don't have the "right" to be respected and reality doesn't care if it is respected or not.

"Your religion" belongs in your head and not in the laws which govern MY life.

    *Steps off soapbox*

  • The time is now,we must stop the violent behavior of Islam before it stops humanities compassion for their brethren.Use your common sense and seize the moment for humanities sake!

  • Why are you so afraid of a Muslim theocracy when Muslim's only make up about 1% of the British population? And Pat Condell was on a Drug binge. According to his latest video.

  • Yes, he's rather partial to that frothy brown liquid... urm... B**r !! ;)

  • Are you saying that the merits of a muslim theocracy should be assessed according to the percentage of muslims that live in the country? In any event, there are going to be people of other faiths who do not want to live under the laws of another religion. The advantage of secularism is that people of all religions are free to practise their faiths, but obviously not free to impose their belief systems on others. Isn't that fair?

  • I'm saying that the likelihood of a Muslim theocracy is fairly slim. Because Muslims are too few in number to overthrow the current secular government of Britain. Despite victimlesscriminal's fear mongering; Muslims will not be able to impose sharia law on the United Kingdom in quite some time.

  • Do you think that muslims should be able to impose their laws on everyone else if in a majority? It is very likely that muslims will form a majority of the UK population within the next thirty years. What is wrong with secularism, which allows freedom of religion for all? Why would anyone wish to force everyone else to follow their religion? I'm not sure what your point is. You seem to be saying that no-one should worry JUST YET. Don't you think secularism is always superior?

  • I never said that I was in favor of a Muslim theocracy. I fact I'm against a Muslim theocracy. Many Muslims in Britain are immigrants. And the recent economic collapse will discourage immigrants to immigrate to the United Kingdom. It is highly unlikely that Muslims will form a majority in Britain any time in the near future.

  • So you are saying that we need not worry right now? I disagree. There are already Sharia courts operating in the UK for muslims (with respect to family, inheritance and some minor criminal law matters). Acceptance of religious law now will only make it more difficult in the future to get rid of it. If something is deemed to be bad, why allow it to spread at all? Like cancer, it should be eliminated ASAP and before it destroys the whole body.

  • I know little of the Sharia courts operating in Britain and I would like to know a little more about them from a balanced source. But doubt that these courts will control little more than family matters.

  • Your doubts are perhaps a little too optimistic, particularly since you don't know what is going on in the UK. In any case, family matters (divorce, child custody, division of property) are very significant matters, and applying Sharia in this area can make a huge difference.

  • Signed from Ireland and will spread the word.

  • Vote BNP,the governments who gave us Islam, and now the Multicultural nightmare are the same ones who have lied about everything else and other opposition parties to allow this disintegration of British life to continue. They will continue to destroy us,unless we vote them out, before it is too late.

  • If every one of us forwarded this to all on our friends list on youtube, msn or whatever, imagine how many people would sign this petition? Well, I've signed it and forwarded it to all of mine.

    Great video, by the way.

  • Excellent suggestion, Comrade Shaydee. I'll fav it and pass it on.

  • Signed from Ireland. This vid is a wake up "boot in the arse", for lazy bastards like myself. Thanks

  • signed from romania

me, and all my friends signed

  • The petition rejected my email address because it had 'special characters'. But my email HAS a special character! Crazy.

  • ha! 3000 signatures from the whole world! If anyone made a "institute sharia petition" over a million people would sign it.

  • Depressingly enough, you probably couldn't be more on the money.

  • got 51 people to sign form USA

  • Signed from the USA

  • I'm swedish, and signed the petition. SIGN IT!

  • signed from spain

  • Thank you my friend, for your thoughtful videos.

  • One possible attitude of the inactive supporter is that they don't have to do anything because the general laws have always been as they are and they can't imagine it will ever change. One response would be: "When was the last time a christian held a tribunal and the judge refused a divorce because the husband was christian and could quote a passage in the bible to infer it is his right? Or that divorce is not part of the christian culture according to the bible?" I am atheist-buddhist. I signed

  • I'd love to sign up on these petitions, but I feel that as I am not a British citizen, I can only sit on the sidelines on this one, as my vote would be an interference in British matters.

    Best of luck though.

  • Same situation. Same feelings.

  • My account banevilislam was suspended by youtube. I did not receive any notice explaining why. Muslims went on a flagging campaign to stifle freedom of speech . If we allow them to win might as well give up to our freedom now.

  • I won't be signing. First, I don't think petitions do much good. They're over used. Unless you can get millions of signatures, it just won't mean much.

Second, your "wise & honest people" comment. So I'm ignorant & dishonest for believing in an afterlife? Both opinions are simply beliefs, yours is just different from mine. I won't deride your belief in secularism, yet you deride my beliefs? Derision in either direction is bad, so you're just as guilty of that wrong as the people you're opposing.

  • Well worry about your after life when you get there. Sane people think what can we do about the here and now.

  • Well apparently you, "sane" person that you are, can only handle thinking about one thing at a time. Some of us are bright enough to multitask.

All I was trying to say was, wouldn't it be more honorable to not deride anyone for their beliefs, so long as they're not harming you or in any way impeding your ability to believe whatever you want? Theocracy is still theocracy, even if the beliefs don't dress up in recognizable garb. Beliefs held as absolute are always dangerous, no matter the name.

  • Pessimism begets pessimism. Optimism begets optimism. Using religion as an excuse to oppose a universal approach is, unfortunately, worthy of derision. Your afterlife has no bearing on other people's rights in this life - sorry.

  • I'm not using religion to oppose anyone's rights; I didn't say anything political. I liked the video, until the "wise & honest people" comment. I absolutely agree, my beliefs shouldn't inhibit yours, but I also believe yours shouldn't inhibit mine. All I'm trying to say is, let's not pick on anyone for their beliefs, one way or the other, because yours is still a belief, as is mine. I don't see why that's such a controversial statement, or why I got verbally slapped for it.

  • "I won't deride your belief in secularism, yet you deride my beliefs?"

You've missed the point of the vid.

The petition is about having one secular law for all citizens instead of allowing certain groups exemptions based on their religion.

It is not about picking on people for their beliefs it is about equality for all citizens under law.

Secular = separation of church and state. It does NOT mean banning religion or deriding religion.

  • i signed the petition,

stop discrimination and voilation of human rights!

  • Matt's letter is a fine document.

    Thanks for uploading, VC.

  • i signed the petitions, it might not be alot but at least its a start. i back schmatt13's views and so should alot of people if they believe in 1 law for all. i have a tiny voice (not litteraly of course) but alot of tiny voices can make a big difference.

  • I signed the petition on the 25/12 but my signature doesn't show on any of the pages from the 23rd to today, the 28th. Something's wrong with the petition site.

  • Ok I signed it again and now it shows up. This time I left the affiliation field blank.

  • I agree, I signed op too, but my signature has disaapeared from the list.

  • Yeh, me's had problems with online petitions.

  • Reminds me of a quote from Winston Churchill which goes something like this. If you will not fight when the odds are in your favour then you may find yourself forced to fight when your back is against the wall and all chance of victory has slipped from your grasp.

Too many people have become cowards and will not stand up for there values. They voice there opinions only where they cannot be heard and hope that "someone" will save them.

Sign the bloody petition you freedom depends on it!

  • Yes.

Islam has committed many atrocities in the name of their prophet. We should engage in a world Crusade like we have done in the past to spread Catholicism throughout the uncivilised world.......

  • just like christianity has done.

the 2 are very much the same.

  • islam is evil

  • I signed the petition a while ago, but my name never appeared on the list of supporters. I suppose I'll try again.

  • even the best ideas become void if no advocates fight for them.

  • WTF people, I signed it.

  • It is unfortunately so true. I signed, and tried to encourage others to do so, even prompting friends on Facebook, and not one person bothered. I think it's partially the fear of putting one's name up to be seen potentially by the radical target of the petition itself.

  • When it comes to islam a gentle hand is not called for. The horrors and intolerance of islam must be opposed with all available means. Of course the right times call for the right means. We are at the time when political activism is needed. Later, if this fails, we will come to the time of physical confrontation (ie. war). I signed the global petition by the way. And I have urged my friends to do likewise. We must not give up, give in, or feel discouraged. We must never surrender.

  • A very articulate and intelligent voice - thank you so much for posting. I have already signed but have favourited it. :)

  • Signed a while ago and ive been spreading the link to your video amongst the people i know. Not sure how much good that did but something is better then nothing, even a small voice is better then not being heard at all.

Even though i live far from Uk and Islam is something that is very hard to find here, I'll do what i can for this petition.

Good luck and don't give up VC!

  • the prophet muhammed had sex with his favorite wife Aisha when she was only 9 years old and he was 54. It is all described in the Hadith - go read it.

How can you muslims possibly think that a pedofile monster who waged countless wars could be the true prophet of God???

Only if God and Satan actually existed could there be any truth to that... that Muhammed was the last prophet of satan.

  • If not 4 Pat Condell and u, I...an American...would have never known about this growing problem u have. It's not on the news here as far as I can tell...which shouldn't surprise me I suppose. I believe it's very true that every voice counts. Although, it sounds like PC is clouding the reasoning of many 4 ur cause as it, often times, does here in the US.

  • Signed. I as an Ex-Muslim am more than happy to help. Ive seen Sharia in action thats why I escaped my country.

  • Maybe there are better ways to fight it.

  • Like in my country, Norway, I have no doubt that the vast majority don't want a new theocracy. Radicals have a long tradition of standing up for all of us, for human rights, so the moderate politically correct people don't have to. But now the radicals have joined sympaties with an oppressive theocracy and have more priority over this than fighting for our human rights.

Now it is the moderate people, who have always shut up, who have to shout out.

  • Signed all the sharia petitions myself but having talked to others the pervasive feeling I get is one of extreme apathy. One chap I talked to simply believes that the law would and could never allow such things to happen so anyone protesting this was just being shrill and intolerant. As it stands non muslims protesting this will simply not cut it, we are too easily dismissed as intollerant. We need more prominent Muslims to front this campaign and tell non muslims its ok to fight this.

  • The demonstrations by Muslim women in Europe helped us, Ontarians, shut Sharia out. It is only fair that we all sign this petition to help keep Sharia out of Europe.

While my blog may be small, several bigger and better ones have linked to my post about the Sharia Petition - sending many readers to sign it. OK, it is not much - but every little bit helps, every voice counts!

So, please, no matter how little - make your voice count! Tell others! Spread the word!

    We are in this together!

  • Summs my feelings up perfectly. Download the Petition and get people signing!

Yesterday, at the 'sales' i saw a woman walking behind her husband with her children, she was veiled and white... " It'll never happen here"

  • I signed. And I am rather disgruntled! The last time I checked less people signed than have been killed 9/11. I am more than disappointed!

  • well here is a crazy idea while you still have free electionswhy don't you vote out dome politicians that are apeasing the islamists and vote in people with a backbone?

  • Signed and sent to everyone I know

  • Signed!

  • Signed.

  • I signed it and I'd sign any petition that reduced the power of ANY religious group. I think I can see a rise in Atheism as Science increasingly makes their claims more and more implausible. It's been a long time since Christians had to admit the earth is a sphere and not the centre of the universe as dictated by early Theists and since, more and more religious "truths" have been exposed for what they are; fantasies. Let's hope we can extinguish all of them until the world wakes up to truth.

  • Surely the most important concern of all peoples is the complete environmental collapse of this planet,

Like Oceans covered in Oil based plastic breaking down into a new poisonous plankton, skies filled with the products of combustion changing atmosphere and climate and when the famine comes as it will, religion will be the least of our concerns.

So im not surprised people dont care, because they just dont, they will just act as always, as a herd/mob when absolutely have to and not before.

  • i signed

  • How can i sign the petition if i am in Australia? Do I have to be a British Citizen? and where do I sign on the internet.

  • If you support one law for all anybody can sign. Plus, even if you're not British, they could use all our support in these sorts of things, and we theirs...

  • Vinetia, this petition is worldwide, so yes, you can sign. The link is in that gray box in the top right corner - just click "more info."

  • Good video. I signed the Sharia Petition already. And I'm not a British citizen! Thank goodness for the worldwide petition. Someone should tell the Christian groups over here in the States - I'm sure they could rally up a great mass of followers to sign it.

  • I'm a US Citizen. I'd sign it, if I where British.

Those backwards troglodytes are trying to do the same thing in small pockets in my country, but our government is so big an bloated, and so heavily influenced by corporations, I doubt Sharia law will ever take hold here.

  • You can sign this one. It's worldwide.

  • thanx

  • i'd sign it,

    if i was british (-_-)

  • You can sign this one. It's worldwide.

  • There is a global petition you can sign via the link on the more info box.

  • never mind

    i signed it c_^^?

  • A confession: I was apathetic too. Quite happy to watch the vids and post outraged comments, but too lazy to sign the petition. Anyway, you motivated me, and now its done.

  • People feel comfortable, and neither sarcastic ranting nor melancholy will make them feel involved enough to act. And how could these videos strike them emotionally so to outweigh the always avoided responsibility of making a decision? If a human can't imagine himself in the situation, he'll probably not act to avoid it. You must force the importance of the problem into people. You are dealing with masses, so forget reason and start advertising! That's what works, unfortunately.

  • I signed. Sharia Law is disgusting. I really have no problem with Islam, so long as it DOES what it SAYS (i.e. they be peaceful buggers). So long as they don't try to affect my rights in anyway they can go ahead. But this, I have a problem with. I'm going to try and get all my friends to sign as well.

  • Good comment. I signed.

  • Signed them both, with my real name. However, Sharia in the UK is just a symptom of a wider problem. The problem exists in our law, specifically the fact that the Arbitration Act allows independent tribunals to make decisions that are not compliant with British law. If we want to be as cynical and calculating as these Muslim lawyers are we should change the law to make it illegal for these courts to operate in their present capacity.

  • I have certainly signed it. As for people who are too afraid to sign it, they need to have courage. I would rather die than live under tyranny.

  • agreed

  • count me in, i've signed.

  • Will Sharia Law in the UK be the end of it? Not likely; America is next.

I signed, so did my wife.

  • Thank you VC so much for putting this together, it was a little strange to hear my words coming from another but it is much appreciated that were willing to register my concerns with your own audience, thanks again.

  • Very touching. I feel basically the same way.

    Free Europa!

  • Signed the last one and signed this one!... Happy New Year, by the way!

  • Freedom is not the freedom to do away with one's freedom. Please sign the petition and encourage others to do so. It takes such little time but with enough support it really could make a difference. Peace and love to all, even those who seem to desire neither.

  • islam is evil

  • ....just one small voice

  • VC, I'm guessing the problem here is not just apathy but people r scared. They r scared of the fact that their name signed to such petitions could be found out & thus do not wish to become a victim.

Here on YT & the likes they can hide behind anonymity yet once signed there, their name is for all 2 c. Some of us have no issue with this but many c it as a step they will not go beyond.

Worst part to all of this is the extremist types know this & play to it. Fear is the mind killer.

  • I whole-heartedly agree, it's crossed my mind before adding my name to these petition, but one thought drove me forward. If I am to be so easily intimidated into submission then they have already won.

  • signed. I thought it was a local thing and I'm not a brit.

  • Please sign this petition, whatever country you are from - it's open to ALL.

The goal is to prevent Sharia Law from gaining legal foothold in western countries, and to reverse it where it has managed to do so.

The long-term goal is to eradicate this medieval and backward system of justice from ALL countries, including the Middle East.

    Peace,

    Silence Is Acceptance

    Stop The Hate

  • Complacency and apathy are dangerous characteristics to exhibit in these times. The Islamic far-right is more than happy to exploit these while using Sharia as a weapon to attack legitimate law and legitimate order.

BTW - the 'related videos' list consists of nothing but music videos by Jon Macfarlane. There is something wrong here surely.

  • Those videos would be from my profile, I wrote said email so and somehow it's linked the videos i posted for my friend onto this video.

  • signed it weeks ago.

  • I've heard that the islamic threat is exaggerated in britain. What do you think of those claims?

  • its not an exaggeration to say they are campaigning (sometimes violently) in the streets to pass sharia laws here.

they use our freedom of speech acts to do away with freedom of speech. stupid fucks, eh?

  • i must agree with you w0bbl3r. there really is no exaggeration. there may be only a few muslims battling to make changes to western civilization but its those few with the power, the voice and the money to make it happen.most muslims either dont give a damn or they are silently condoning it.its not until non-muslims start complaining about islamic oppression, cruelty, inequality, discrimination,masogynistic... then all of a sudden these "moderates" have something to say.

  • Signing a petition is the very least one could do. It only takes like 3 minutes. I have signed the petition, even though I'm not British. I want to fight off Islam before it starts having a grip even here in Sweden. Freedom is worth a risk.

  • I really think the US is immune to this kind of pressure and I give that to our sometimes uncouth approach to foreign ideas as well as our right to firearms. Not to be crude but I'm sure a drunk hillbilly could eat a house full of muslim extremists for the sake of a hate crime and wouldn't think twice.

  • I hate to say it--because I actually find that picture of my home country rather less than flattering--but I think you're right.

Goodness knows that if Islam started trying to get hold of this country, I'd kick up one hell of a fuss...probably something similar to the fuss I kick up about OTHER religions here.

As a rabid and screaming left-handed, multi-racial, atheist, nerd-bag, lesbian with dark skin, I've got a BIT of an idea what it's like to be a minority, and I can scream REALLY LOUDLY.

  • Great video

  • Reminds me of Alan Moore.

    Fuck religion.

XVX for life, R.A.S.H. 'til death.

  • painful wards to hear...because they are so true

  • I totally agree, i would sign the petition, but im not british.

  • thank you!
