nobody said breast implants. metallic implants, such as intramedullary pins. in fact they probably wont be ripped out, but they will heat up and you run the risk of getting a massive electric shock straight to the bone
yeah that's probably more accurate. i've heard of trade workers who have metal dust from doing welding and stuff go into mrs and have their skin burned by it.
u cant have metal on because it acts like a giant magnet. if u even have a pair of keys on, theyll either be: a. torn of the keychain,b. everything taken. if u wear earings theyll be torn from your ears if u wear a belt ull slide/fly toward the machine. so yea. you cant wear metal in the machines
Of course you shouldn't wear metal in the scanner and you will have to take everything made from metal off, but just because you have a metal belt buckle it won't sent you flying or sliding. Normally a persons mass is much too big for this.
It all depends on the size and material of the object and how it is attached to the body.
So, small earrings won't be torn from the ears, but they will distort the image, so they have to be removed.
dude ive had an MRi, i had to wait for an hour and 45 minutes without moving or else they had to start over again.. it sucked. and the tube is about an inch away from your face so its kinda freaky.
MRs use a powerful magnetic field to align hydrogen nuclei for imaging bodily structures. Anything metal is attracted - people have been crushed by air tanks or have had implants pulled out due to lack of caution. As long as you don't have anything metal on you, you're fine. MRs don't really pose any major risk otherwise.
@arffee i suspect because he didnt want to stand next to the machine and press the button to move it forward, and im sure they wouldnt make you replace the entire machine because the motor on the bed had burnt out
This is what happen when the government put too much money in the medical research... xD!!!!!

How did they get the tank out after the video, as the magnetic field is constant it is not just switched on and off.

the gas tank was within the metal feid so it shot in. there wasnt a hole in it or anything,it was metal so it was sucked right in

It doesn't act like a magnet, it is a magnet.
