Ok, this is AMAZING! You did this with sculpt mode? I've recently started sculpting in Blender 2.5 with the clay brush, but i have absolutely no idea how you managed to get that kind of hard symmetry in there. Please tell me :) Did you use custom brushes or is it "just" a special method of sculpting?
Thanks for the response to everyone. @ ozfunghi: It was done in Blender 2.49a (unfortunally without the cool clay brush), starting from a sphere. Polycount was under 1 million, above this Blender crashes on my PC. I sculpted rough forms, tried to flatten and to smooth out the surfaces. I used the pinch tool to sharpen the edges. Some custom brushes were used but mainly the built in with adjustments to the curve. Hope this will help you.
you made me wanna learn sculpt mode with this. Thank you

Nice work, and you also use blender makes a good example showing the power of the blender, expect more examples of sculpture, you're good.
