I really loved this deodorant the first couple of days but I noticed that I would have to reapply during the day..eventually my underarms starting flaking and burning so bad!! I had to stop using it. Any suggestions for any other aluminum free deodorants?
Unfortunately, Tom's uses propylene glycol, which is basically alcohol... a skin irritant, potential carcinogen and it's totally unnecessary in deodorant. For an excellent alternative to TOms, search SMART Deodorant on facebook.
I actually bought this product before I went on my study abroad trip to Paris and about 3 days into my trip I noticed that my underarm skin started flaking/peeling off. It wasn't painful or red but it was there and even after I would shower there was this constant whiteness under my arms. I ended up having to buy a repacement deodorant that cost me an eye. x_x I read a few reviews on it and I guess I just had some kind of reaction to it. =/
All deodorants are made of chemicals. Anything made of matter is a chemical. Water is a chemical. I think you mean you want to avoid putting artificial chemicals on your skin, which is understandable. =)
Tom's makes a good deodorant, I had the Fresh Apricot :) I also like LaVanila deodorant (but I got that for free.) It's a great brand without horrible ingredients & though I'm not a vanilla fan, I like the Madagascar Vanilla used in their products because it's real & not fake :) My favourite is the Vanilla-Coconut (it also excludes propylene glycol which I think Tom's of Maine still uses) But Tom's is much cheaper & is still great! :)
After using it for about a week and a half my under arms started peeling so unfortunately this deodorant is not for me.
