First of all, the Bible never claims the earth is only 6000 years old. In fact, according to the Bible, human civilization is AT LEAST 10,000 years old. It says that G-d created the earth in 6 PROPHETIC days. This is much different then a 24 hour period but how long it actually is, is the subject of much debate. If you believe that the commandments of G-d and the resurrection of the dead is "stupidity" then you are most certainly a G-d hater.
