@hellorodney yep. after all your layers are totally dry (this can take months) you can use a spray varnish on the entire painting. These various spray varnishes will come in Semi-Gloss, Super Gloss, and Matte.
Should damar resin be dissolved in mineral spirits? I thought it needed to be made with turpentine or else it becomes cloudy...
Oh, and when you said you were adding more damar, you grabbed the bottle of linseed oil instead. ;)
