all of the vessel you see are meant specificaly for exploration. But they each pack a unique and powerful weapons array. Most of these ships are effective in wartime, making them multi-purpose.

not all these ships are constructed for exploration! for example the defiant was the first ship builded for battles... and the sovereign class is in first line also a battleship but it is of course also equipped with gadgets for exploration... of course the starfleet is a exploration fleet but all the conflicts forced them to construct battleships for defend their own territories

I agree but most of these ships except for 3 are pre wolf 359. post 359 ships have more photon launchers and are more armored the post wolf ships are the Defiant class my favorite Akira class AND finally the Sovereign Class.

The Defiant and the Enterprise E were built with a bit more offensive then typical ships. I'd go as far as to say the Defiant is in fact a ship of war.

@00fire501 Only the Defiant class was specifically designed for combat. All but a few of the Federation starships have been multipurpose vessels. The ratio of what they have is different: Both the Galaxy and Sovereign classes are designed for exploration, but the Sovereign was designed with better combat abilities and less research capability. The Nova and Olympic classes are more science/medically biased, but still have some combat abilities.

@00fire501 The Defiant and Prometheus class ships were the only ship classes built specificall for war. Many of the classes are very capable of warfair, the Galaxy, Akira, and Nebula classes standing out, with minor modifications. (Galaxy ships carry families, Akira class ships have massive fighter compliments, and Nebula ships are designed to be tailored to mission specific roles.)

Yeah I think the Ambassador class is a good mix of the Galaxy and Constitution Class Starships

Actually it's more of a mix of Galaxy and Excelsior. I read somewhere they overlaid a galaxy and excelsior and traced around it to come up with the ambassador. although the secondary hully is more constitution than the others song they mixed it all in.

It's something about the way the Enterprise-E was portrayed! Not just because it's the Enterprise. The Sovereign class starship screams regality and royalty. Great job on this. Keep it going. You should do one with all the ship named Enterprise and with all the other Federation ships.

That's one of the "still in production/cobbled together ships" used from Star Trek Deep Space 9. It's part of a two part ep where, after sisko steals a Dominion ship, this one pops up and attacks without knowing they are firing on their own people.
