Mindwarp: You have a valid point, I'm just saying that he had more balls than alot of serial killers, alot of serial killers use drugs and alcohol to increase they're bravery, and still attack women only. Yes, the cocaine probably did increase his sense of invincibility, and he was definately a sick person, but he had alot more balls than these assholes like Bundy and Dahmer and Gacy, who had to trick theyre victims.
I see what your saying....I agree that he was one of the more brazen than most of these nuts. However, we must not forget that when dealing with such twisted minds...we have to seperate bravery from desire. They all had their targets, example: Bundy was attracted to women, his desire was not to attack men. Not out of fear, but I assume because the thought of raping a man did nothing for him. Dahmer chose to rape men, because that though did excite him. does that make him braver than bundy?
Bundy and Dahmer both used trickery, i.e Bundy used a fake cast to lure women to his car to "help him", Dahmer used spiked drinks, they are both cowards. I think Dahmer was definately afraid of his victims, which is why he tricked them and drugged them. Same with Bundy, he waited until women were at they're most vulnerable, and knocked them out. They are both cowards. Ramirez was definately the most brazen that I've heard of, with the exception maybe of the lesser known Tommy Lynn Sells.
yeah, in a nutshell I think all of em have the same attributes...bravery, cowardice, self preservation too though. Like Bundy wanted to be brazen and just grab people without trickery or charm, it would shorten his lifespan. with witnesses and such. Dahmer and Gacey were the lowest of the worms though I think. Fritz haarmann also. Ramirez was a loser in life, like many of them. A theif, who didn't want to work for a living. Even son of sam could hold a job and support himself. I dunno.
its like in the animal kingdom, everything attacks what is weaker and/or vulnerable. Even the king of the jungle hunts in a pride. So in a way we can say that these people are more animalistic than crazy. All animals have desires, and all have enough fear not to attack something too dangerous. Again though, anyone who attacks an elderly couple fails to win any courage trophy. And he probably needed drugs for that also. all in all, there's not much good to say about these guys.
To joshl49; Sorry accidentally removed your comment. Resend it if you wish. On the subject of Richard Ramirez being a coward: We must remember that he was an addict also, and most likely high on cocain when he killed. Many drugs, even alcohol, increase bravery. Going into windows not knowing whats on the other side takes bravery..but most likely it was drug induced bravery. Once through the window, attacking unarmed people, elderly couples and women requires zero bravery. We should then ask...
To joshl49 (continued) How crazy was he? He obviously wasn't crazy enough to face the angry crowd that chased him down. Is carjacking women brave? Maybe the cocaine wore off when he pleaded for the police to save him. Not saying he was never brave, but look at the acts for what they are: he killed unarmed people...in my book that makes someone a puss.
I agree, especially in the cases of Manson, who had other people kill for him. Burkowitz, who snuck up on couples. and the DC Snipers, who shot people from great distances. But I think its possible to mix crazy with cowardism, Cowadism doesnt put such twisted desire in a person, and its this desire that makes them act out. No bravery in attacking unarmed or vulnerable people. However, The only reason a coward would risk life in prison or death...is because of perversion and its drive.
@YouDickwod - This is true. From a hunting aspect..it makes much sense. However, killing a deer takes zero balls. And when its human to human...you can use the same logic to promote sucker punching someone. Doesn't make it brave...just makes it the easiest route to an objective.

@joshl49 yeah because their objective is obviously to attack those bigger and stronger than them to show the world how big their "balls are"

@MindwarpCinema You wouldn't walk infront of a deer when you're hunting it because it would see you and you'd miss the kill.
