  • omg we did the same thing with the hard drive

  • will this operation work the same for a 40 gb ps3?

  • ich kann es nicht mehr zusammen bauen wiso macht er es so schnel wiso uund jetzt kann ich nicht assasins cred revolotion kaufen

  • Can I use Silicone Base-Heat Sink from Radio Shack??

  • @TheAlexwoolfolk yeah!

  • @Dax79 did you even clean the heatsink fins before you put it back on cause that is 30% ur ylod prob

  • @TheAlexwoolfolk nooooo dont use cheap thermal paste !! buy the best its only 7 dollars more and would last a shitload more of gaming

  • I have watched so many videos on how to do this and you are the only person who actually seem to know what they are doing. Thanks for the video i will now try fix mine for myself. also dont suppose you know how long it will last cause most of the other video say it works for 200 hours but would be great if it lasts for longer? Big up yourself !!

  • @Leverett89 thanks! I hope I helped and you have fixed your YLOD!!

it depends, my old ps3 is still going 3 months latter!!!

  • Done as you said in the video had to do it twice as the mother board didn't get hot enough but works the second time :-)

    Great video A++

    THANKS

  • If you don't mind me asking, what's the output effect on the heatgun? And for how ong should i heat the specific chips? So i don't melt anything down.

  • @Ohem1 Just heat it up until it glows red, just don't keep it in one place two long. (thats the CPU, not the small chips etc....)

  • @Dax79

Thanks for your reply, but isnt there a risk of burning/melting the surroinding components? Considering how close they are, and i suppose the cell, nvidia rsx and the ps2 chip I have to "blow" to glowing red?

  • how hot does the heat gun need to get?...would a hair blow dryer get hot enough?

  • I tried everything you told me to do, but I'm still getting the yellow light

  • @Stardust3278 then try again, and again until it don't turn on!

Sorry it did not work. Maybe Sony will help us deactivate our accounts vier the website.... that would be great!

  • Hi.Great Job. I have done everything you said and it works 100%. Great video. You where very easy to understand. Thanks.

  • @Raptorfireball2001 Nice and easy, just the way it should be!!

  • what if i got a new hard drive would that work at all?

  • @DocHavoc0512 No. One HD per PS3. This is one of very few ways to get a PS3 with YLOD working to get info off or de-activate or data transfer.

  • it not heat sink it thermal paste

  • @thegg09gg09 it says... "Servisol silicone heat sink compound (25g)
