  • No one could ever come close to Lucy. No one could ever be as timeless as her. I have seen every single I Love Lucy episode countless times, and still want to watch them over and over!!!

  • Funny, funny, funny, funny, funny, the funnyest !!

  • RoBeatz, her heaviest role was in The Big Street. Check her out in Stage Door, (a supporting role), and in Best Foot Forward. Also the Long Long Trailer with Desi.

  • OMG I watched this and laughed until I cried!

  • Never knew Lucy till know. What are famous movies where Lucy plays a big role?

  • Lucille Ball was a not a natural comedienne, she was a serious actress. Now, as we all know, her "Lucy Ricardo" character was a very different story. Lucy did not just impersonate Carmen Miranda, but Carmen Miranda was brought onto the Desilu set to teach Lucy all the dance movements and gestures, as well as pulling the costume together for Lucy. Miranda was also paid a royalty for use of her recording. The reason Lucy's routine looks so effortless and good is because it's the real thing.

  • No she was Portuguese. She was pretty. She died in 1955

  • @zacefronswife100 she was Portuguese but lived and made her career in Brazil, singing carnival songs.

  • Was Carmen Miranda Cuban or South American?

  • @zacefronswife100 South American--or specifically Brazilian

  • I am big fan of the classics and I love Lucy and I love Carmen Miranda. I always had a wonder. When Carmen wanted a snack after a show or whatever, Did she ever reach into her hat? Of course I jest.

  • I could never undrstand this show? I mean Lucy always wanted to be in Ricky's show but rickey kept saying "you have no talent" The man has NO TALENT. The man can't act, CAN'T CERTAINLY SING. Listne him he sings OFF KEY CONSTANTLY

  • @BobChippewa Good Lord grow up. He could sing and he could act. He was a Cuban man singing in America, of course you think he is going to sound but. But most people don't think so.

  • @3909clancy yes he was from Cuba but the singer on the record is singing in Portuguese

  • One of my favorite Lucy moments....she has a bunch of Latin cultures mixed together, and even a freakin donkey!!! LMAO

  • kkkkk, Fabulosa, essa imitação de Carmen Miranda. Congratulions, dear Lucy (Carmen was born in Portugal (Várzea da Ovelha) in 02/09/1909. She died in Hollywood, in 08/05/1955) For more informations about Carmen's life, read "Carmen" (Ruy Castro, Ed. Companhia da Letras, São Paulo, Brasil, 2006)_

I used to make it a requirement for elementary students in my after school program, at first they would complain about black and white then they would love it. I ran into a girl years later and she had bought the whole collection:)

  • @gormwolf

You must watch the grape smashing & the candy factory clips. They are the 2 most famous. You'll see why. ENJOY.

  • That's like water in Mars! Priceless! OMGod, such awesome funny performance! Lucille Ball was an amazing entertainer. And Carmen Miranda... well only the name means everything. Woman was amazing. Icon of an era! Thanks for sharing.

  • @DerAdventurer that is really nice to read. As a brazilian person I thank u for ur words about Carmen Miranda !!!

  • Absolutely. Carmen was born in Portugal but she carried a brazilian soul like no other person that outside Brazil, she's considered an iconic ambassador from this amazing country of yours! Greetings since Greece! Shalom.

  • I know was a portuguese. But she went to brazil w/ a 1 years old. She was more brazilian than portuguese and everything she learned is a brazilian ways. She was amazing. Thanks for your comments again. Take care

  • Indeed, she was more brazilian than anything else. What a wonderful woman.

  • hehehehehehe

    Muito engraçado!

  • From the episode "Be A Pal" [October 22, 1951]. Lucy actually got Carmen's permission to do this parody (using her record to mime to), and she was in the audience when this was filmed.

  • frigging funny as hell Lucy was a wild and crazy woman love her!!!!!!

  • Dear Lucy has poor rhythm!...

&... YOU NEED TO HAVE AT LEAST 1/2 OF CARMEN MIRANDA'S ENERGY & SPARKLE TO CARICATURE HER

    :::::::::o)

  • i think that was the point - lucille ball is no carmen miranda! she was, however, a comic genius!

  • Did they run out of stereotypes to put in the room?

  • @trooperjoe73 hey, it was the fifties.

  • ¬_¬

  • of course ! seguro que si !!

  • No matter how many times I watch I LOVE LUCY, I can never get tired of it. Lucille Ball is the Queen Diva of Comedy.
