@colt413 Second deals don't comfortably allow for the control of the top 4 cards. Also you have to answer how he managed to locate the aces from a shuffled deck. You have the right idea but the handling is different.
I have it figured out. He has three hands. No, really, there is a little village outside of Florence, Italy and everyone has three hands. That's where all the best magicians come from. It's a birth defect caused by smoking Camels during pregnancy. You don't have to believe me, but it's the truth.
Hear about reference codes? Not me until few days back I made big buck from it with no sweat atall. Just entered the code FILM with full tilt poker and got $600 ! Poker was hard for me but now I understand it cause was easy to learn.
@brusko3269 the greek deal is dealing the second to bottom card. The same method tho can be used ( if you are really good ) to deal the 3-4th or 5th to bottom card.Really interesting technique but also very hard to master.Respect to Ricky Jay :)
I thought he was dealing center deal except of course the queens that comes from the bottom. Any way, thanks for the explanation that he used greek deal!
I do believed that he used center deal on this one although it could be the greek deal, which I wasn't familiar with (call it ignorance, on my part) as you have said!
@kurian88 center deal?i think he culled the card's he neded ...did a strip out with them in the right hand(the queens covering)and the bottom deal'd them(using the greek deal and the usual bottom deal)that's my opinion but i just watched it (for ricky jay you have to look like 10 years:))
Ricky Jay, always great. Saw him many years ago, when he was much younger in a demonstration of cards skill at Ken Brooks in London. For a select few.
just wondering... but did he shuffle the deck? i think all he did was take out the queens... and no matter what there are seven people, than those cards would go to him
no, he didn't....but I'm almost positive he culled the aces to where he needed them, and set them in between the queens, and pulled them off the bottom as well. Now I don't for sure if that's right, I'm just kind of stabbing the dark.
in a pretty fishy way, that means the aces were behind them, then he turned the cards upside down which makes the cards from top to bottom look like 4 queens. =)
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
He set up the deck, then made sure they'd ask for 7 hands with the fourth one getting the cards. Listen for the subliminal number choices in his patter.
Camera angles were fine.. Didn't allow anybody any site off exactly what he done with exception to the bottom deal.. For me that the way that TV magic should be done... Else you get too many people going "I saw something there"... Very simply one of the all time masters at work... onwards RJ.
no you haven´t seen that trick in a book for kids....bottom and center dealing are both 2 of the hardest concepts in card gambling to execute properly..and ricky jay surly is not a magician doing "magic for kids - tricks"....also you should note, that these guys sitting on the table with him are experts as well..
Right thanks. Go to the site in the upper left hand corner of my profile then into the exclusives button on the left hand side. then click on bedroom cheaters. amazing trick, will foll everyone! you probly think its not the same thing but ti's not hard to make it like this.
This is the Marlo/Benzais poker deal. Go to the website on my channel and go to "What's New" on the side and go to Bedroom Cheaters. An amazing trick, will fool everyone!
when he's flipping over the Q's a the bottom, he packs 4 aces behind them, so when he's dealing the Q's, he's second dealing from the bottom, and straight bottom dealing the A's to himself...amazing stuff to do that fluidly, and while chit-chatting as well.
@PrestyGomez actually he's right even if it sounds like a noob sentence.. he placed the aces on the top (if u look closely when he looks for the queens there is no ace) and then he does a middle dealing for every player (except himself) picking the 5th card of the deck (and then the 4th then the 3rd et cetera) =)
First, Ricky is the man. Second, this confirms that John C. Reilly is in everything.

I think he culled the four aces to the top and then was second dealing the straight hands, bottom dealing the queen, and dealing himself off the top

The second deals would ruin the order of the aces on top.
I reckon he's dealing from the centre for himself.
