@stevenb78414 I'm old enough to remember the next ice age stories in the 70s when a few scientists suggested that IFsulphate and aerosol emissions carried on growing at the rate they had in the 50s and 60s(which they didn't) global cooling would occur, but even then most climate scientists thought that global warming due to increasing CO2 levlels was more likely by the middle of the next(i.e. this) century.

The curve from the 1950's to present that they show looks a whole lot different when you put into the parts per 100,000 scale (and less threatening looking). At the rate of CO2 entering the atmosphere now ... it would take another 100 years to budge up a couple of parts per 100,000 of atmosphere.

I don't really know much of game theory, but I imagine that it incorporates methods of accounting for differing relative risks and probabilities. And of course evidence shows global warming is real, dangerous, happening, & that we have to quit burning all fossil fuels immediately to avoid catastrophe.

@stevenb78414 I'm old enough to remember the next ice age stories in the 70s when a few scientists suggested that IFsulphate and aerosol emissions carried on growing at the rate they had in the 50s and 60s(which they didn't) global cooling would occur, but even then most climate scientists thought that global warming due to increasing CO2 levlels was more likely by the middle of the next(i.e. this) century.

There are other factors that are far more involved in any real warming trend and the greatest of these is simple water vapor. The curve from the 1950's to present that they show looks a whole lot different when you put into the parts per 100,000 scale (and less threatening looking). At the rate of CO2 entering the atmosphere now ... it would take another 100 years to budge up a couple of parts per 100,000 of atmosphere.

@tommotian Remember, Jehovah's Witnesses take most seriously every law and command stated in the bible. We follow what it says, not pick and choose what we want to follow and disregard the things we don't want to follow like other religions do. So, if we shun someone, they have broken laws or commandments of God. We use God's word as our authority-2 Timothy 3:16,17. We use our time to preach the word as Jesus taught his disciples to-Matthew chap.10,24:14,28:19,20. We make disciples today :D

@TheDaftpunk02 Yeah, I had serious doubts like that myself. I researched my doubts. I thought them through. I started to study the bible and holidays books, plus other religions in a general way. I realized it make pure sense that God would write a book. The bible is in harmony, states the generations of the lineage of Jesus Christ.It fortells the future with amazing accuracy. I am glad I investigated further. I found the TRUTH! I am now a Jehovah's Witnesses, a true disciple of Jesus today :D

3.....Makes me suspect that the whole global warming thing is invented. The climate does change naturally anyway. From time to time; i.e. the river here in London used to freeze over, the people had ‘frost fairs’. Don’t volcanoes spew out 3 or 4 times more CO2 every year than human activities anyway? And what about sun spots?
The powers that be are not doing anything to reduce ‘global warming’. Shouldn’t that tell us something…

On a more serious note, i have question for you, and its not debating taking action, rather shifting and introducing ideas that ellimate the costs involved with taking action. What about conserving biodiversity? this regulates natural ecosystems and the cost is that of consciousness with an alleviated "great depression" scenario. Biodiversity is a tool to defend against natural disaters. shouldnt this be the focal point and thus an umbrella for factors such as the green economy.?

still , you need to be able to afford it $-wise. Recycled toilet-paper (made from old newspapers etc.) f.e. in the AH shops are sold at double the price as normal un-recycled toilet paper. However ... production cost for the factory in Germany who supplies to the Dutch AH shops, is half of regular toilet paper. Result = I do not buy eco untill the big shots make it cheaper cause I can't afford it. Same with food etc. Local food is more expensive then overseas products ? Where's the logic ?

Many similar organizations have now looked at the current data, looked at climate gate and have rewritten their statements on global climate change. Many "proofs" in the IPCC 2007 report have been found to falsified or the listed references found to missing, misrepresented or even made up. All it takes is a huge meteor to create a dust cloud in the air or perhaps a huge volcanic eruption or even a nuclear catastrophy big enough to create a dust cloud.
This causes sunlight to not stream through and it causes a cooling phase.
This happened once after a volcanic eruption and we had a mini ice age i believe:1878? 1880?
and another before that around the time of the declaration of independance in the us.

Just because at core it is an agree/disagree statement does not mean that each one has a 50% chance of being right or wrong. Do dragons exist? Do demons talk to you? @Downfurlife I think you must have a wrong idea of what game theory is. of course you need to examine evidence, and of course it is not so that all possibilities have equal probabilities. I don't really know much of game theory, but I imagine that it incorporates methods of accounting for differing relative risks and probabilities. And of course evidence shows global warming is real, dangerous, happening, & that we have to quit burning all fossil fuels immediately to avoid catastrophe.
