@vReactiionz Torrenting is illegal and morally wrong. I buy my software because if its worth using, its worth actually paying the people that made it something. If you want to torrent go ahead, but personally I think that stealing software is ethically wrong. (Every bit of software I use, I own), and as a software developer myself it would be very hypocritical to act otherwise.
@bdashiz Currently I am using my Mac Pro. 2.8Ghz Quad Core Intel Xeon, 12GB RAM (Upgrade Video coming eventually) , ATI Radeon HD5770 etc, Ive also made the jump up to Final Cut Studio. At the time of this video, however I was using my MacBook which is a 2.1Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4GB RAM, 120GB HD, Intel X3100 integrated Graphics.
@chrismacguy wow that is one nice mac pro youv got, how well did final cut run on your old macbook though?
i'v got a mac mini with 2.4 core 2 duo, 2gb ram, and geforce 320m. i really want final cut i use it at school all the time, but im just wondering if it will be tolerable to edit HD video on my mac mini, i know the specs say it will run, but will it run smoothly enough is what i want to know.
@bdashiz Final Cut Express will run brilliantly on your Mac Mini, as will Final Cut Pro, however if you go the Pro route dont expect the other programs (Motion and Color especially) in the suite to run very well as both of them really need more CPU power. For Instance, I have Final Cut Studio on my MacBook, and apart from Final Cut Pro and Soundtrack Pro, the programs in it do struggle. No such problems using everything that comes with Final Cut Express however.
Thanks for both the tip (I will try and speak a little slower, also my new camcorder may help as the built-in mic can be a little fuzzy, and also the complement :D
I know , You should definitely buy it! - I bought it as, although my camcorder can do widescreen and just 720P HD - I wanted a better editing package.

@chrismacguy You got a point. I would want money for my hard worked app. But I was strictly saying that for your benefit. It's your choice.

hey chris,
one more question.
i know you can import iMovie'08 projects to Final Cut Express 4, but what about iMovie'09? still possible?
NicoleSBL 2 years ago
Yes, Apple has updated the page to say it is possible using either '08 or '09 as they share the same file format :)
