Is there an area on the Lower West Side that's cheaper than the other areas in the Lower West Side? I've looked at Chelsea and West Village. Which is cheaper?

@LilCbar No chance. You can't get a studio there for less than $1200 a month. In the South Bronx, however, you can get a one-bedroom for less than $1000. But the South Bronx isn't hip.

One of the most expensive places to live in New York along with Chelsea, Upper East Side and Tribeca.

Rent: A share is going to be about 1,500 per person a month. A one bedroom can range from $2,000 to $3,500 a month. A two bedroom is going to be about $5,000 to $7,000 a month.

Buy: An apartment would range from $400k upwards to 4 million or more. If you want to buy a historic brownstone we're talking anywhere from 4 million to 12 million. I've heard of things selling for 20 million.

@JohnnyMac2237 I didn't buy it, but it looked an average size, not very big, but not a small hole. It had a kitchen and lounge and bedroom.
