  • more like jelly baby murder. no wonder it was screaming

  • nooooooooooooooooooooooooo not the jelly baby

  • You know, it only looks like it's pointing at her face because of the camera angle, it's actually pointed at the wall/window.

  • that poor jelly baby

  • So how much energy would the technician have extracted if she'd eaton arthur jelly-baby?

    (Sorry. Sorry.)

  • health and safety is very inportant so im going to heat up some oxidiizing agentsin a tube THAT IS POINTING AT MY FACE !!!!!!!!! :)

  • So... you ADD heat from the torch... and the tube then EMITS heat. I'm not impressed. Isn't it more likely that "respiration" is actually driven by the power of GOD, after all it takes cold things (food) and makes your body heat from it! As usual, the secular "science" comes up short.

  • @abmackay I sincerely hope that this was a trolling comment, otherwise you are rather uneducated and foolish. I have never claimed to be a man of faith, in fact I am entirely against the idea of religion or proclaiming one's self to be better than other living creatures simply based on lineage. But there are many who have true faith who are also very scientific, the two do not necessarily cancel. Perhaps you should learn about the respiratory system prior to posting such foolish remarks.

  • @abmackay God gave people lungs so that we may breath on our own. Science is a vast subject, and has affected humanity in the greatest of ways. It's the result of human curiosity and willingness to learn and discover new things. It's also a deeper explanation to those who still don't understand. "Do unto others as you should do unto yourself." Keep trolling like that, and you're going to get the same treatment from other people. If you're going to say something, do it politely.

  • What is a Jelly Baby? :?

  • @NodDisciple1 it's like a gummy worm in the shape of a baby. its mostly popular in britain.

  • @chrismmann51 Can you do this w/ gummy bears? :?

  • @NodDisciple1 possibly. i dont know for sure.

  • you fucking murderer!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I haven't done this experiment yet i have just gone into 8m

  • My first thought "Would you like a a jelly baby?" ahahahaha

  • @Farknuggets thumbs up to the Who fan!

  • @ThatKidKnows my teacher showed us this experiment in class and it doesnt smell like candy floss it smells like burnt rubber and carbon dioxide!

  • jelly baby murderer

  • Sounds like me, trying to get the last of my milkshake out of the cup, with a straw :3

  • did this at school! :D

  • This is amazing with transcribed audio :')

  • @marlastrongbow rofl i did that and at 1:29 "someone stop eating john and i have my jeni baby announced at that very quickly." XD

  • Your cruel sick Twisted human!... What has this jelly baby done to you, he might of had a family... think about what his parents are going through!

  • @animalcrosser591 oh my god yes

  • We need an episode of Dr. Who where the Doctor uses jelly babies to power the Tardis.

  • Sooo.....Candy can do that??? AWESOME!!!!

  • it didn't really scream, but that was cool

  • Jesus you use a blowtorch to HEAT things in the lab??? Why not just use a bunsen burner... way safer.

  • @shorerydr10 How is a bunsen safer? Blow torches are easier to move. Bunsen burners are good for fixed flames.

  • It didn't scream at all. What a rip

  • Was NOT expecting that! I thought it would be only a high pitched squealing noise - It sounded like the Apocolypse!

  • U.U Poor kid.

  • @bassman1993 :)

  • @bassman1993 well you were one of the lucky people to have done it already i suppose =) our school experiments consist of throwing melons and apples out of the window to see which will hit the ground first. needless to say the school's budget is non-existent. and they made us bring in the fruit. 'nough said =)

  • @bassman1993 this is also true. though in my defense, the video was entitled ''screaming jelly baby'' which is most misleading for a sadist such as myself =)

  • @bassman1993 alas, what would life be without humor? a very dark place indeed =]

  • @bassman1993 was only joking :)

  • I did this today in school and the jelly baby flew out of the testtube and why would you use a blowtorch when a bunsen burner would be twice as fast :/

  • the Doctor went through time 23 times and disliked this video each time

  • Good god, what would the Doctor say?

  • naww i thought it was actually going to scream at the end what a prodigious let-down

  • I'm assuming that gummy bears wouldn't work as a substitution... darn.

If anyone knows of jelly babies and doesn't know about the fourth doctor, someone fix them.

  • awwwwwww poor thing :'(

  • Jelly babies are docile specimens, pepperami would be a bit of an animal, but if you need a real challenge, try Lockets, apparently they are menthol!

    Haha!

    Thangooverrmuch.

  • You bloody bastards!! Have you no morals, no sense of decency< no bleedin' Mentos that you can use in your evil experiments!!! The Doctor (The Holy Annoited Fourth One) will make you pay!!!

  • that could make a nice bomb if you used enough in a closed container

  • Agree Chris wvtr....!

  • The Doctor would probably frown upon such a waste of a Jelly Baby.

    But it's interesting to watch.

  • I'm eating jelly babies right now - this is amazing. The vid and the taste.

  • HOLY SHIT SOMEBODY CALL AN EXORCIST.

  • @OceanbornAngel

You can pick up Jelly Babies at any World Market in the US - if you live near one. That's where I get my Marmite and Twinings tea, as well! That place rocks.

  • Wow, Dr. Who is completely correct in utilizing Jelly Babies as a weapon when not in possession of a gun.

  • @OceanbornAngel erm......

  • @Coogirl123

Forgot which episode from the Tom Baker era, but Dr. Who in a bluff threatened to harm someone with a Jelly Baby. Considering the combustibility of those things under certain conditions you really could harm someone with a Jelly baby indeed. I wonder if this works with Gummy Bears?

  • @OceanbornAngel =] i take it your a doctor who fan them

  • More or less, yes. Though Jon Pertwee was the Doctor whom debuted the year I was born, I remember Tom Baker as the Doctor I originally watched. Sadly though Jelly Babies aren't as common here in the U.S. as they are in England. If I want to sample some Jelly Baby goodness, I actually have to import them from Britain via the web.

P.S. I believe it was Patrick Troughton, the Second Doctor, whoo started the whole onscreen Jelly baby thing in Doctor Who in the Three Doctors serial I believe.

  • @OceanbornAngel

Yes, it works with gummy bears, since their composition is also mostly sugar. When I was shown this experiment in school, gummy bears were used. I would imagine dumping pure sugar or marshmallows or something into the test tube would also work, though it's not as much of a gimmick as igniting an animal-shaped confectionery.

  • And to think Dr Who was always offering those things around...

  • poor jelly baby =(

  • definitely does not sound like a screaming baby....

    it sounds more DEMONIIIIIC.

  • Kewl :D

  • they taste so gud haha u americans cnt get them lol

  • health and safety? how about some gloves you numpty

  • i thoght the jelly baby was going to scream

  • So are they kind of a cross between a gummy bear and a jelly bean?

  • it didnt scream

  • Question: Are jelly babies comparable to gummi bears in the U.S.?

  • gummi bears taste like jerky compared to jelly babies, its a much richer sweeter softer taste and gummi bears are harder to chew id say get a tub cos they are VERY addictive lol

  • @flugel76 No, Jelly babies have a harder "shell" (not crunchy, but not as soft as gummy bears) while the inside is a much softer , almost liquid consistency, they are also much sweeter.

  • @Xzarfna sounds tasty.

  • Weeeh im going to do this in my sience class

  • we've done this twice XDDDDD

  • cool! someone should do loads of jelly babies at the same time and see what happnes.

  • RAINBOOOOOOOOW

  • Her face looks like a jelly baby!

  • Imagine the power that could be harnessed from this! The RAW and ULTIMATE POWER! Jelly Babies will power our cities, airplanes, cars, everything! It's a worldwide revolution!

(Yes, I may be slapped for this. 8D)

  • One might even say they could make TIME TRAVEL possible?

    Eh? Eh comrades?

  • Oooooooooh...

Would a certain doctor be willing to test out this theory? I wonder...

    8D

  • @kagemarunl not bad idea as it would b as its cheap to make and little pollutants made, but would make jelly baby price go up as people would want to eat them n use them as fuel

  • @kagemarunl but then the car fumes would smell of candyfloss, and kids could get run over looking for it :O

  • Such a senseless tragic waste of a life, what about the poor jelly babies family, has no-one considered them?

  • LMFAO!!!

  • oh my god, its a jelly baby. it was made in a factory, it has no family and is NOT alive. has no-one considered that?

  • @chriswvtr they have no family! they are test tube babies xD

  • @chriswvtr Such a senseless waste of a jelly baby...

  • @chriswvtr What about the children, will someone please think of the Children!!!

  • @chriswvtr They are very proud of him and will ever remember his heroic sacrifice for the advancement of science.

  • heartless murderer ;(

  • know wonder it screamed you burned it to d eath

  • But can you get high off the fumes?

  • You've got your priorities right. Good man.

  • But how does it taste?

  • didnt realy scream but does explain why kids bounce off the wall after having this stuff

  • we did this it was really good and it sounded like screaming, and it smelt like burning marshmallows, lol. we didn't use a fumer, hehehe :S

  • doesn't realy sound like screaming does it

  • no not at all

  • i done this today with a bucket of potassim and a packet of jelly babies and blew the roof of my house

  • bullshit (sarniesam)

  • poor jelly baby :(

  • awsine

  • to bad you can't run your motor off it

  • we did this in school 2 day n set the fire alarm off hehe :P x

  • are you a complete idiot?

  • we did this today in chemistry only with a gummi bear, it was a lot cooler than that

  • wow, tom baker must hate them!

  • my teacher did this twice in science today- it was way more spectacular than that >_>

  • u shud use a fume cupboard for this...

  • Why? it only gives off Carbon Dioxide. You could just open a window. I hate health and safety, it is so over the top with everything.

  • no... i think it gives off more than that.

maybe my teacher did a different one....

and it's not over the top with everything...

  • I appolgise it also gives off carbon monoxide, a fume cupboard should be used. I still think that H.S. is over the top.

  • yeah with some things :)

but not carbon monoxide, that's pretty dangerous stuff :)

  • My science teacher did this experiment today it was wicked except not much screaming happened :D

  • Science is magic!

  • Someone should name their band "Screaming Jelly Baby"

  • That's what I said! What a let down...

  • made me nervous.

  • If one teaspoon of sugar instantly digested in your mouth, your head would explode =D

  • Actually no jelly babies are soft and chewy like gummy bears. Jelly bellys are hard

  • It's more like the Snoring Jelly Baby ! haha

  • It's in the UK they have candy there called that.

  • the british accent makes it sound even more scientific..

  • its like firworks

  • Bad title, no screaming there, come on now. I think I remember my biology teach put a chunk of that in water and blew up a beaker in class.

  • What you mean is metallic potassium, not potassiun chlorate or a jelly baby. Jeez!

  • You see how fast she puts that potassium chlorate into that tube? That's speed!

  • one might be surprized at how much energy can be expelled from simply derinking water and human will.

  • Screaming no , mildly fizzing yes.

  • power overwhelming!!

  • i wonder when it screamed???? lmfaooooo

  • it screamed at 1:33

  • that was called screamming? more like muffled fizzing sounds

  • P U R E E N E R G Y !!!

  • not respiration.. *cellular* respiration.. -_-;;

  • Lots of calories in those jelly babies eh? Lota energy! :o Ain't chemistry fun! :P

  • Cool! What's the pillow for? Is it also a smothering lab?

  • Spam you!

  • how is that screaming

  • shame about the quality of the video

  • i didn't hear the jelly baby scream!!

  • what have you got in mind then apart from slagging off really good experiments?Cant Cant wait for an intelligent comment from you!

  • This is a decent experiment, whats your idea of a good experiment? If youve got nothing good to say, go and watch tellY!

  • haha they think this is going to make people want to teach science?

    "A risk assessment is required"

Teachers despise health and safety and risk assessments! They all moan about how much of a waste of time they are and as a result barely ever do anything that requires one!

  • There was a risk assessment you idiot! we dont mind doing risk assessments, doesnt sound like you knwo what you are talking about. Whats your job? who are you to judge?

  • Yes I know there was a risk assessment - and that risk assessments are hated by everyone I've ever met because it's essentially extra paperwork writing down things that are basically common sense- so why do they emphasise the need to do them in a video encouraging people to teach...? It'll put people off!

Moreover, if you're a teacher your SPaG is shameful - I hope you hold your pupils to higher standards. I also hope you don't call them idiots when you misinterpret their observations.

  • no SPaG any more, youre well out of date! is that all you can do, have a go at people who are trying to do a good job. The risk assessment is minimal, something you clearly do not understand. go and watch another youtube channel!

  • THIS IS THE SOLUTION TO GLOBAL POWER!

  • Wow. The most exciting part was when she turned the lights on and I thought the room was going to explode.

  • Oh how funny, maybe you should get a life and go and do something more fun!

  • Health and Safety??? She has the test tube pointing at her face! :D

  • O_o you made a jellybaby engine :)

    5/5, hehe

  • I agree. I'm sure most people in their 20s have burned sugar and weedkiller before(can't do it now, weedkiller has something added to it to prevent that, spoiling arson, I mean science, for the current crop of teens), this is nothing new for them.

  • i agree with you so much. I don't find it interesting nor educational. (and im not even among those that think science is boring)

  • typo ~ politician

  • reminds me of a polition caught in the act and making a lot of noise in the hope we dont notice they dont have an explanation

  • Aaaaaah. Poor Jelly Baby! Least when you bite their heads off they can't scream :D

  • Lovely stuff, technicians rule!

  • very good, I like the scream!
