You don't have to die or anything, just drive down there. Then drive out. I just did.

you could just save the game right after you open the chest, you go back to the new - U and you wouldn't have to die and pay the money if you don't want to. then repeat if you want to

I mean... maybe the XBOX has an option to save... but I see no option to save on the PC, you can only save (automatically) when you approach a NewU station. Unless you mean that when exiting the game, it saves. I am not sure. If I exit the game, will I keep the new gun?

@rogerpenna on PC, it autosaves when you quit, so you just come back to the new-u station without losing money.

@MegaMrMuffins Doing something over and over again to get better items, experience, etc. (Looting chests, killing bosses, etc). You need to quit and rejoin to farm pretty much anything, unless you're killing crawmerax.

i got the atlas cyclops with 3 explosion 490 dmg (the pearlscent one) in two trys with this chest after i had alredy farmed 210 chests in new haven

If you go towards the left of the chest (as you face it) and slide down a small V shaped hole in the mountain face ... you get teleported back to your spawn point with no death tax. just be sure to hug the wall when you're falling. easy.

how did you find this? were you just driving your car around the area ramming it into the walls? if so, why? that just doesn't make any sense at all

It was most likely found on the Pc version first. On Pc there is a cheat called "NoClip" which lets you fly anywhere on the map, even through solid objects. Maybe people put God mode on then NoClipped through the area in search of hidden stuff.

Thanks man. If you're using nitro just before you can actually fly over that rock area and land just above the chest, and then if you sprint down you don't have to crouch as the turret won't have time to target and shoot you. In addition, if you leave the vehicle there, if by some mischance you should die, you can teleport back.

In my opinion though the chest on the roof in New Haven is faster to get to, thats how I got about 12 yellow to gold items in about an hours farming. Cheers tho!

you actually don't have to crouch at all.. you just run down there lol the turrets don't have that fast of reaction time.

yea you dont have to crouch, you just have to stay close to the wall.

Just a note to add to that last bit, this just becomes a normal red chest on second playthrough. so get it on Playthrough 1.
