@b I've was an atheist for 20+ years. I've looked into everything before hand and bashed "the Bible" growing up and made the typical comments that you made. For starters, compare it to the original language and read "the Bible" in all of it's context, it was written over a period of 1400 to 1800 years by more than 40 different authors from several different countries/continents, with archeological and non-biblical findings to back it up. There are prophecies, not contradictions.

Also this passage is not saying to kill "non-believers" It was saying to kill Jews who forsake the covenant they made with God at that time. In UK we can detain up to 28days without charge. I think it has to approved by a judge. I don't think it's been used in several years because it kicked up a stink.
There is a sort of internment(indefinite detention) still going on with several Islamist types, that's still going on but I may be mistaken. Abu Hamza may have been convicted and awaiting extradition to USA after serving sentence here.

@b I think you have a complete misunderstanding on some OT passages. Those verses were for the Israelites living in Israel. This passage has nothing to do with today's times/law. Also this passage is not saying to kill "non-believers" It was saying to kill Jews who forsake the covenant they made with God at that time. Moses gave them the 10 commandments and they accepted them as law. Read closely, there was Nephilim/alien battles in "the Bible" as with other cultures.

I don't doubt they might try and confiscate guns from civilians. I do think it will be very tricky for them to do so. It would have to be a very elaborate plan. The amount of people the weapons industry employs to state parks running off of Hunting Lic. to cashiers and so on and so fourth. The amount of people effected would be incredible. The lash back at the government would have to be astronomical. If not, then really, what's the point of staying in America?

In UK we can detain up to 28days without charge. I think it has to approved by a judge. I don't think it's been used in several years because it kicked up a stink.
There is a sort of internment(indefinite detention) still going on with several Islamist types, that's still going on but I may be mistaken. Abu Hamza may have been convicted and awaiting extradition to USA after serving sentence here.
Internment was tried in UK on the IRA in the 70s and it made matters a lot worse.
