  • Until the new 5.0 Mustang GT's came out stock for stock an Evo would destroy a mustang in a strait line or around a track. So saying Imports always lose is just ignorant. Didn't the 03-04 GT have around 260hp and still weigh almost 3500lbs where as the EVO was rated at 276hp at 3100lbs? So um more power and lighter but according to you American muscle wins everytime hmmm that doesn't make sense. I own an EVO and a Vette so dont bother calling me a hater.

  • @ArchAngel2911 Actually, the EVO was 3350lbs in 2003 and just got heavier, and the 2003 GT was about 3300lbs and 260hp from a naturally aspirated 4.6. 9.5:1 compression. But the 03-04 Mach 1 could beat an EVO, as could a 96+ Cobra. They were all low 13 second cars stock (except 03-04 Cobras, which rape them all).

  • @SuperSnake330CID Looks are personal preference. And as for performance, it depends. A stock 300hp 04-05 STi will beat a stock pre-2011 GT. Any year. The S2000 in the right hands will beat a stock 99-04 GT in the wrong hands. That's no different than the import people who think cars like mustangs can't handle, when a 2000 Mustang pulled over 1.0g, something no japanese car has done 100% stock even to this day. Imports can be made quick, and american can be made to handle well.

A 1996 Mustang cobra on all season 245/45-17s can pull 0.94g. Lateral acceleration is more a measure of the tires grip than the car.

  • Yea run a race for a mile that started at 60mph+ that sounds smart. Cars above 450whp running for a mile will be well into the 170's if not more which is just stupid on a public street. It doesn't take a mile to know if a car isn't going to catch up and show a clear winner. Races should end as soon as its clear that one car isn't going to catch up. This one should have lasted a couple seconds more but thats it.

    That because its a turbo car, turbo cars make tons more horse power than naturally aspirated, all you need on a turbo 4g63 motor is more full and boost, that motor can handle 500-600hp on a stock bottom end.

  • @flamingaxe791 i dont believe a T4 Turbo is from china and it must work pretty well i think it would have to while you tune an engine, because they did a bunch of dyno pulls with it and it stayed intact oh and did make 14 psi every time. so just because its a budget build doesnt mean that its crap, otherwise a magazine would not publish the article for everyone to see and try.

    China turbos IE Ebay or turbos are not reliable turbos, the usually blow after around 4000 miles or so, some brand new ones even blow smoke from the factory, only a fucktard would put such a shit turbo on a quality built mustang. You should skimp on a part as important as a turbo, that should be done right.

I may be wrong but if it's true then you are looking another another couple grand to keep up that power. and then when the turbo goes and you dont catch it quick enough cause you bought a budget turbo and you blow then engine you get to start over :)

  • evos are quick my buddy had a evo 9 it had the norm mods, cai, boost controller for the stock turbo, he turned up the pressure up to 18 psi and he was only making 300-330 hp. my dad's bone stock 2003 pontiac bonneville ssei could keep up with it with a sc v6 and only 240 hp. that cobra was not being held wide open otherwise he would have left him in the dust.

  • @ksek09 his was turned down when he got it i think, whenever i would ride with him his gauge would always read about 15psi (this was on a digital gauge), it was still quick but not as quick as when he turned it up. plus im not too sure about how much pressure the stock turbos can take without throwing a bearring or just blowing up all together.

  • @1996fordmustangGT for the 20G turbo, it can handle up to 25 or more if i'm not mistaken. On my evo 8, my boost goes up to 19 psi and at peak drops down to 15-16 psi on stock ecu. the reason the pressure is so high stock because it's a tiny turbo meant to spool up quick and for mid range torque. did i mention i hate the stock turbo? lol GT35R here i comee

  • Nevermind the nice lead the Evo got off the start, regardless stock for stock they're both great cars but in a straight line, there's no question with a good driver. I just think it's funny he had the top down, that really slows a car down at those speeds.   • Circuit is VERY expensive. The maintenance costs alone are painful. You have a Fbody, you will find yourself wanting MANY mods, suspension, brakes, wheels and tires to start, this is all a MUST for circuit, because even the best Fbody is a death trap, and also like driving a bus, on a circuit. It's addictive, and VERY hard on the engine.

    It's pricey, only flying is more, I won't own my first ('69 Cessna 172) for at least 2 more yrs. Just got my private and instrument!

I have not seen one german car come into my shop that has not had excessive slude in the engine,or doesnt have valvetrain clatter,or something....you can keep your german sludge machine.........not to mention they are expensive as hell to maintain........best cars my ass.

  • @turbobenx Germany is very innovative with their technology and designs, but they seem to lack the concept of reliablilty in some of their makes...VW, Audi, Mercedes.

    From what I know, BMW is their top brand in reliability, but costs an arm and a leg.

    I wish VW would be better thought, because they're nice cars. Sadly, they have a ton of engine, electrical and quality problems.

  • @Kdubslugga Not gonna lie, but you're rite....but not quite. However, the thing is American muscle needed big motors....V8s, V10s to even touch a japanese car. That's like 2-4 extra cylinder and about 2 times its displacements. And btw, E46 M3s r all motor also. It doesnt need boost to take on american cars. Not only that, the japanese got sport sedans which is quite unique and smart engineering which the American cars doesnt, except for the srt-4 (which is no match comparing to the EVOs, Stis).

  • @Kdubslugga and btw, the srt-4 r quite garbage too considering it's turbocharged. Couldnt even match the wrxs, so let along the evos and stis.

  • @turbobenx Stock SRT4's run mid 13's stock and stock WRX's with the exception of the new ones run mid 14's stock. SRT4's aren't that bad actually. I have sold them AND worked on them as well as WRX's and they are all good cars. But in the end the WRX is better. But that's just my opinion.

  • @getalife04 WRX is better than srt-4 based on their awd system. AWd increases tractions which is an extra plus. The srt-4 which according to the dyno has about the same hp. However, the weight to power ratio gives the srt-4 its advantages. On the 1/4 miles, both cars can run from 13.9s-15s depending on the driver's skills and depending on where u live. I was actually ignorant saying that the wrx is better than the srt-4. But both cars will have a real good race. But i would choose the wrx too.

  • @turbobenx Yeah and I wasn't trying to be a dick or nothing I was just pointing that out. They are all good cars but I agree. WRX would first choice for me everytime.

    The 2011 plain GT has 412 without boost!! Find me a Import that has those numbers!!! The bmw M3 or M4 whatever it is, is a nice car!!

  • @Kdubslugga Actualy the 03 Cobras are packing 420hp. I cant wait for the new 5.0! Slap a procharger on that thing and WHOOO!!!!!!!
