  • RIP Bill Walsh. This 49er fan will never forget the dynasty he helped create.

  • Thanks for the tribute, as a die hard 49ers fan I appreciate it.

  • Dallas Cowboys and San Fransico 49ers. TWO TRUE DYNASTIES!

  • that was an awesome tribute from a very classy cowboys fan. much kudos bro from a 49ers fan. i'd sure wish both of our team's were going toe to toe again just like back in the nineties but someday we'll make it back.

  • I had the honor to play for him at Stanford for 3 seasons. Thanks for the wonderful comments. He was truly a great man, and an even greater man behind the scenes.

  • much love dude...good video...

  • R.I.P Coach Walsh.

  • Swann is two years older than me. I spoke to him exactly once while at Serra. Judging from your accent I assumed you had lived in the South your entire life. If you lived in Half Moon Bay you probly know that Barry Bonds also attended

Serra HS. Hanks was a major fan favorite up here. A clutch player who always seemed to be enjoying himself. I recently saw Morgan Fairchild playing a cougar on Charlie Sheen's TV show. She still looks good.

  • Here is another Bay Area connection for you. I went to high school in San Mateo with Lynn Swann. He was MVP in Super Bowl X against Dallas. Pittsburgh was heavily favored, but Dallas outplayed them except for an individual performance which IMO rates as the greatest in SB history.

  • That spectacular comeback marked the beginning of the Staubach era in Dallas. Morton ended up in Denver where he had at least one really good year. Brodie blew his share of playoff games but that particular loss was not his fault. He played extremely well.

  • From a long time and hard core Niners fan, thanks. I had somewhat similar feelings when Tom Landry died. The respect for great coaches seems to cross the boundaries of rivalries.

  • greatly respected man all the trash talking and whatever is going on between the cowboys fan nd niner fans and the teams mean nothing when it comes too somthing like this thank you and im still working on that video of bill

  • I remember the beginning of the Cowboy/49er rivalry. A playoff game with John Brodie and Craig Morton as the starting QBs. 49ers had a comfortable lead late in the game, Staubach replaces Morton and brings the Cowboys back to within one touchdown with very little time left. A special teams player for the 49ers fails to cover an onside kick and the Cowboys win.

  • Classy vid. God bless you Bill Walsh for the great memories, and may your family find peace. I love our 49er / Cowboy rivalry, might have got 8 trophys if the team of the 90's didn't have something to say. Again, very classy, may your Cowboys do their best and may you have no injuries. Thanks for posting the video.

  • It takes a great man like Bill Walsh to bring Cowboy and 49er fans together. Only that! May your soul rest in peace William Ernest Walsh.

    Thank you for this tribute.

  • As a 49er Faithful, I say thank you for the respect you have given. You are Classy.

  • I am a football fanatic, and a loyal Cowboy till the end. But people are more importnt and Bill Walsh was a great persom as well as a coach.

  • Classy Video

    R.I.P. Bill Walsh

  • In 1992, while coaching at Stanford, Bill performed perhaps the best coaching job ever in a single game. His Stanford team went into South Bend to face a loaded Notre Dame team, which included Rick Mirer, Jerome Bettis, Reggie Brooks, Irv Smith, Derrick Mayes, Aaron Taylor, Tim Ruddy, Demitrius Duboise, and Jim Flanagan. The Stanford team was good, but not super. Notre Dame got up 16-0, and this game had blowout written all over it at the time.

  • As it turned out, the game WAS a blowout. However, it was in Stanford's favor. Bill Walsh worked a lot of magic, and outcoached Lou Holtz, an all-time great college coach, so badly. The Stanford offense went to work, the defense was nasty, and Stanford scored 33 unanswered points! In addition, Stanford held Notre Dame to like less than 20 yards of total offense from there on. The final score was Stanford-33, Notre Dame-16.

  • Afterwards, Bill Walsh said, "1990 was a fluke, but today, we beat them fair and square."(1990 was referring to when Stanford beat Notre Dame 2 seasons before.) Stanford went on to have a great season and killed Penn State in the Blockbuster Bowl. Does anyone remember this game? Bill, you are a legend, and we all miss you!

  • Thanks for the memories coach.

    RIP

  • west coast offence is the best.RIP bill walsh.

  • One of the best coach ever

  • A Great Man... we will miss him dearly.

  • RIP Bill Walsh, I was fortunate enough to meet him before he died. Bill Walsh was a great coach and an even better human being, this is also from someone who hates the 49ers.

  • RIP

  • RIP Bill Walsh

Not West Coast offense without him!
