  • kilometers ....lol .

    lucky im in Australia then

  • think it would fit in a 2009 lancer es-sport??

  • @xTheVille21x As long as it is double din you shouldn't have a problem

  • How much was it?

  • @bryanrohnaldo I paid about $700 but now that they are out of business I may be trying to find them to sell

  • Did you get that gap from the kit fixed? IF that was professionally installed take it back! But nice unit!

  • Nice review. My brother gave me this unit and we installed it in my truck, but the Ipod did not function even with the cable connected. I did notice that the cable is pretty beat up so I think the cable is the problem. Now II did notice that you've placed a standard Ipod cable via usb instead of the one that can also play videos. So I'm going to try the standard cable because I do not want to spend 34 dollars just to view a video on this reciever. Again, thanks for the review.

  • have you figured out the DIVX vod crap? I've finally registered it on divx.com but i can get the startup video on the unit. Plus i don't think you can play videos thru a u.s.b stick huh.

  • I always get the "GPS signal lost" every time I start up my car, but shortly after get a GPS signal

  • 1sicknikel... there's an update that gets rid of that navi problem. Also eclipse is required to support this unit for 5 years by law and there is a full map update scheduled to come out soon! (hopefully an ipod quick search update will follow)

  • what in dash kit did you used? and where did you buy it??? im looking for a fit kit for my 2010 lancer ralliart i hope you can help me...thank you

  • Will this fit the GSR non navigation dash?

    I want one!!

  • where you get it and how much was it?

  • can u play audio from ur fone via blutooth on this system?

  • Yes you can.

  • Nice unit...I have one question, have you installed the steering wheel control adapter so you can use the volume buttons?...also i noticed you have the metra kit, I had it for my 08 lancer GTS but i recently changed it to a scoche for better fitment and more "factory" look.

  • Thanks for the reply....i was on the phone with the dealer and saw your video again "Signal Lost" what was that all about???

  • So you know I tried the video and it didn't work LOL.

Whenever you start the car and go to the "Navi" option it say's signal lost, but after about 20 seconds the Nav locates you.

  • Thanks for the vid bro you really got me convince in buying one but i have one question, does the ipod cable let you play the videos in your iphone???

  • I hope you get it quick because Fujiten announced they will no longer making Eclipse. I have yet to try watching videos from my iPod Touch on my Eclipse unit but I wouldn't see why not.

  • Yes it does

  • Nice review. I also have an 08EvoX. Question...what pioneer unit is in your other vehicle? I ordered the Pioneer Avic-Z110BT. And what dash kit did you use on your car? Metra or Scohse? Nice to see another Evo X owner with some melanin in his skin, lol. Thanks for any response.

  • I live on beach and heil :) want to buy an evo

  • Does it have MSN Direct, and which screen reseloution is better, this Eclipse, or Pioneer Z series?

  • Did you get the KM changed

  • Bro - Excellent overview.

I would have liked you to go into more detail but, you cover all the basic and most important options and keep on task with an sincere perspective on the true functionality . Eclipse should credit you as being the person who sold me on this unit. After many hours of thoroughly researching, I look forward to its arrival.

    Thank you.

  • Did you get to change KM to Miles? Also how much did you pay for it, i see soo many different prices!

  • i can barely hear the nav when the radio is up loud.. is there a way to auto mute the music when the nav is giving directions?

  • DOES IT SHOW ALBUM ART?

  • No it doesn't which is a downer

  • you can change your setting in the navigation and set mile.ok

  • Eclipse Leaving Car Electronics Aftermarket

    Joseph Palenchar -- TWICE, 1/6/2010

Los Angeles-The Eclipse brand will disappear from the car electronics retail aftermarket after a run of 21 years.

Parent company Fujitsu Ten Corp. of America confirmed plans to discontinue sales of Eclipse mobile audio, video and navigation products in the struggling aftermarket in North America, Latin America and South America.

  • Can this unit show navigation while playing a dvd to a rear monitor with audio?

  • Great Job--Do you know if you can save old routes? Does it have the functionality to save the route that you actually traveled? Lou

  • Yes you can if you have a destination set. What you need to do is go to the Nav> Select the Menu Button on the screen> Route > Save Route> and then name the route. You can also record your routes if you dont have a destination.

  • hey thanks for the review! Had a question with the ipod - is there any way to quickly scroll to the bottom of a list of music without hitting the arrow keys a million times? can you drag the scroll bar or anything? thanks a lot!

  • I usually hit up on the scroll so it goes the opposite way

  • and last but not least bud not bashing you at all but you really should read your owners manual before doing a review on something,,,the hands free for us works fine as well and this is the consumer reports number one,,,most everyone is going to play it with a newer ipod most of the time and it has the function of displaying your ipod on the screen when used with the extra cable,,just an fyi no offense meant

  • You should read through my replies and comments because I actually figured everything out after I did the video bud.

  • also with the cable you can order you can play music vids and whatever while cruising,,looks sharp just have to modify it a bit on installation and such which isnt hard to do with google

  • it does miles bud,,,check the manual

  • Nice tour man!!!

  • So....where IS the USB connection? Do I have to take out the the whole thing so I can put it in the back???

  • My USB cable is located in my center console. Its a 4 foot long cable you can put anywhere

  • Well the thing is, it didn't come with my car, I had to get a new navigation system and stereo because the other one was broken..and I've been looking everywhere I could just for the USB connection just so I could connect my iPod but everywhere I go it's just like "where do I connect my iPod?" "you use the USB cable" and nobody seems to be helping...because I looked everywhere on my thing and I can't find it. I was told it was on the back of the system, and I hope it isn't.. :/

  • the ipod connection is on the rear of the unit,,33 bucks and order the one thats designed for it,,shows video as well off your ipod so its def worth the extra pennies

  • just hard wire ythe ipod cable into your deck into the center console and you get a custom fit,,,it charges it as well so always there with no risk of dead batt syndrome

  • Yeah, I know what happened. The idiots at Toyota were doing all this extra stuff for us by being able to make calls through the speaker and installing all that, while this stereo isn't even compatible with the DVD player in the back, and then at the same time, they never wired the cable, but were able to randomly install the iPhone thing. So yeah, we're gonna get rid of the stereo and get another one that's much cheaper.

  • Hey man thanks alot for this vid. I am seriously looking forward to buy this bad boy next month. I was hoping maybe you could do a video getting a little more involved with the sound and how and what the Equalizer looks like. Also other details including watching a dvd or video and if this can be done while driving ( "for passenger reason of course haha") Thanks man let me know cuz info is pretty limited on this deck

  • i love this unit. i just bought it before thanksgiving 09 but i cant figure out how to lower the brightness of the screen because at night, it's sort of distracting.

  • isn't it... hold the A/V button for 1 second? RTM.

  • check out the cnet review for this product. it shows the distances in miles.

  • i know that also dropped the dual zone

and that suck ass because i use it all the time in my car so i can watch tv in front and watch and movie in the rear seats

also its not as easy to use as the avn6620 but i still love eclipse

  • eclipse is the best period.............

    i love my avn 6620

  • too bad they dropped the eq to only 3 bands on the 726e.

  • @iamvinhamese Do you find that to be a big loss? Just wondering... On the Eclipse 6620 I dont even use the EQ at all. I have it set to default.

  • good video bro but now that you learn how to change the MPH please share cuz I got the same Eclipse system as you. You should of shown how to change the color theme, which is a kewl thing to do on this system. Also my memory slot doesnt seem to work. Are you having promblems using yours?.

  • I believe to fix the MPH, you actually touch the screen on the km/h dial itself to pull up the option to change it.. It might be a double tap or touch to hold till option pulls up.

The map is made by IGO (navngo) and you can update it yourself with the latest dbase from IGO on a SD card.

The SD card slot is for map updates only and won't read anything else such as media files..quiet the shame to be designed that way since that slot could be versatile with SDHC cards..

  • Good vid man. Finely Eclipse made something that you can use with modern technology such as ipod. Im definitely getting this head unit. Eclipse gives you the best sound quality, even better than my stock Bose unit. One question, on older models we paid over $300 to update maps, I know with Pioneer its free if you go on their website. Will Eclipse rip us off still?

  • Km/h is the way to go buddy! just kidin' i never understood the miles thing....so i know what you're going throug ::P

  • Is it possible to change the boot logo?

  • Looks really good

  • how much did u bought this for? cuz i wanna get one and i have the eclipse avn7000 in my 98 toyota supra but i wanna get the eclipse avn726e for my 08 toyota tacoma

  • Where did you buy this? I ask because if you bought it off ebay, and you can't change the kph to mph, chances are you were given a Euro spec model.

  • I figured the issue out with the MPH a rep from Eclipse saw my post and walked me through on how to change it.

  • That was a great review. Thanks! I am considering this device or the CLARION . I like the way this one looks and operates. Did you install this yourself? If yes, how long did it take? and How would you rate the difficulty?

    Thanks again

  • Thanks you sooooooo much for your review!

  • No problem Im glad I can help.

  • 1. Yes it does support Voice Recognition but only for the phone and navigation I think

    2. No remote all manual controls

    3. GPS is extremely accurate especially in new housing development

    4. I haven't seen that you can customize the menu but you can change the navigation menu

  • Hi, I have few questions about this unit before I purchase it. 1. does it supports voice recognition (e.g. when you say THE MAP, it will go to the map menu). 2. does it comes with a remote control? 3. does the gps accurate?? 4. can I customize the menu?

  • As far as I know there isn't any visualizations and with the album art it doesnt play from my ipod but possibly with the iPod connection cable that Eclipse sells.

  • Are there any visualizations for music? Also does it display album art from your ipod?w

  • WTF you can't change it to MPH??

  • I stand corrected. I got an email from Eclipse Corp and I was told how to change the headunit to MPH. Now I just need an actual owners manual instead of the quick guide that I got the headunit with
