Your x0xb0x sounds out of tune or in the wrong key. Anyways,I love your synth collection. I also have a Alpha Juno and it's a super underrated synth if you know how to tweak it. I'm looking into getting a D-50 or D-550 if I get the money.
I LOVE the D550. Still need to get around to doing some deeper programming, but I need a midi controller that can do sysex editing. The things is a beast to program with such a small screen. the D550 in this track comes around 3:24. I paid 250 for mine, and it was way worth the price. Another cool synth is the Alpha Juno, very very underrated synth. only paid 150 for that one too.
Cool, I have the Alpha Juno 1 although mine is actualy the rarer hs-10 which I paied peanuts for (£70) Other rolands I would like to own are the SH-2 and SH32, I had a SH32 and it's a smooth operator.
Have you seen the virtual sysex D-50/550 editor on the net, it's free and looks good. There is a link to it on the vintage synth web site, that web page has been a bible to me since 2001 lol
I got various vids with some of my alpha juno sounds on my youtube page. Any who i'll ring up and see if the D550 is still avalible tomorrow, from what I'm hearing it sounds nice. Love old roland gear.
Very very nice, I used a real vintage 70's mini moog a month ago in some ones studio and it blew me away! Wish I had the money for one, the only thing with that vintage one was that the second oscillator went out of tune in less than a minute lol
Yea, vintage units do that. Cool thing about the andromeda is that it has moog oscillators, because it can sound very moogish, especially with its moog filter. The Andromeda is like the swiss army knives of analog synths. Its an analog workstation! still need to tap into its potential.
Yeah the Andromeda is nice, my poor man's moog is the Waldorf Pulse which is also analogue, it sounds brutal...very hot(loud) output. I'm looking to get some roland S&S modules but keep getting put off by watching cheesy videos on youtube with them lol What do you think of the JV-1080? Never realy used a lot of S&S synths over the years...in fact I think the M1 was my only one and I hated it...oh no wait I had an EMU Extreme Lead too
Mind you I think Korg sounds weak and thin compared to roland...I don't know what the fuss is about Korg. The wavestation and prophecy were nice but who has patiance to program them?! I know some guys who use the Wavestation and it sounds amazing but I don't like programing it, I would rather program a Yamaha DX
Id personally skip the JV, and go with a JD800 or a JD990, I have the JD990, it uses a full lossless 16bit 44.1khz system, unlike the JV which is cut off around 30khz and is compressed. I am a huge fan of korgs, especially the Electribe Line. But as far as the MS series goes, I played a MS20, was not impressed with its "fatness", Id rather get an Poly Evolver for the price.
Old school vibe with some high quality sounds..very nice!

Thats propper old skool larry heard sounding'
The bass line is dope and you have an andromeda and a moog respect!
What did you use for that bass line it sounds lush
vinyljunkie07 3 years ago
That would be the Moog Little Phatty for the bassline. Programmed it myself. This thing has officially become a staple of my setup!

Haha cool, I didn't like the MS20 either. My first drum machine was a Electribe; the Er-1 which I used with a DX-100 and Bass Station lol
How would you rate your D550? There is one here for sale and I'm tempted but don't want to be dissapointed
