  • itt'l get better, trust me, i've already seen some of the improvements!

ths game will evolve into something glorious!

  • 1 word.. Gorgeous!

  • Five people have neither lived, died, or known...

  • Final Fantasy XIV will be realeased for a 2 month beta on PS3 on December 14th! On the side note Final Fantasy 14's new team was fired 2 month's ago now we have a badass director and the FF11,6,4 team working on 14 now! Final Fantasy 11 team had 243 people on the team... 15 of them are maintaining the 11 server's the rest are going too remake 14! and if you don't believe this info long behold google lodestone 2.0 (The FF14 2.0 Remake)

  • @gunlook Er.. You're a bit off, the FF11 director was fired in November 2010, the new team is led by Yoshi-P, a director who had always wanted to make an MMO, and he's in charge of remaking the game and of 2.0. Please check your info before posting falseties.

  • Good OST, Nobuo is the king, but the game is horrible.

  • You all need to read up on the plans for this game in 2012. They are completely re-doing the graphics engine and UI to make it MUCH more PC friendly. Also the jobs system will be added very soon with a lot of new content before the total revamp which will then lead into the long awaited PS3 release. Square realized that this game was very close to DoA so they completely replaced the team working on it and it's coming along very well and will soon be not only playable but a fun experience too!

  • why ins´t ff14 coming out for ps3??? I wanted to buy it, but... the release was canceled.... :( ???

  • @NoctLightCloud release date januar 2013 check official site

  • @TecugakuTakayi

what? jan 2013? why so late? man... it´s always the same with square enix... but I think it will be worth to wait for. :D

  • @NoctLightCloud hahaha, well that is because the old dev team was lead by some visionary that didnt know the mechanism of an MMO.... . and shit happens.

  • @nasslan87

yes.... that´s a good reason! SE is full of visionaries!!!! xD

  • @NoctLightCloud The reason is because of the 2.0 revamp. Instead of giving the PS3 users the pain of having to play the game in it's current state. It's easier to wait till 2.0 is released. (PC is being forced to have to download a new client and everything for 2.0) So it makes sense that the PS3 release was delayed till Jan 2013.

  • @RyokaiBerohtona

ok, thx for this information? where do I get some updates (latest information) about this game???

  • I listened to every one of these, and most have only 1 dislike. It's like someone went through disliking all of them. If someone didn't like any of these songs they wouldn't have taken the time... makes me think it's a rival video game company trying to hate... Nobuo is a god among men, and those that would act against him will suffer Karma's wrath!

  • Rather than people arguing about which FF was better, why not just all agree that they all have hardcore, kickass tunes that keep the universe in balance by ofsetting the shitty rappers that have been coming out the woodwork.

  • @firespawn01

you´re so right! that´s what I am always talking about ;))))

  • @firespawn01 smartest comment i read for the entire freaking month.

  • @firespawn01 one of the best comments i've ever seen in my life. I agree 100%

  • I love her voice !!!!!!! My god she's amazing !!

  • I've only heard bad things about Final Fantasy XIV, but I have to admit that was an absolutely beautiful song. Favorited.

  • Her voice is so amazing!

  • WOW

  • @SUNNYRAINWIND not wow it's shit the best mmo is ff14

  • @lescoparodieur LOL! I meant wow as in I am amazed at how awesome the song is. I plan on starting this game soon i have it but never got around to playing do to the crapy graphics card. getting a new one.

  • Sorry guys, I'll be a while away from Youtube

I'm off to Eorzea, have to find the Answers!

  • i hate the newer directions that square has done with the final fantasy series (yes i said square because even tho square and enix merged they still dont do everything together)

the series has gotten bland after they started to majorly change how the games were being made

to me the main series ended at Final Fantasy X and everything after that is just a game with the final fantasy name slapped on it, it just isn't the same kind of game any more

you can disagree, but this is what i think

  • @thekid20x6 Just to make youtube conversation, I would personally say that FFX out of the trinity that is FFIX, FFX, and FFXI, is the farthest away from the classical FF and sort of blossomed the series to what it has become now (still one of my favorites in my opinion.) Although XI was an MMO it was incredibly faithful to the ethos of Final Fantasy ^_^

  • @monsterfurby I've actually come to enjoy it a lot with the bew release patch. This is coming from a player who HNM tanked for one of the best linkshells in FFXI and heals for a US Top 100 guild in WoW. Try it by December, its gotton pretty decent.

  • Really, on merit of its artistic style alone, I really would like to try out FFXIV. But - does the game hold up now? Few sites have bothered to re-review it. How is it now?

  • @monsterfurby I agree with saitothelegend. The game really has improved quite a bit thanks to the new content and general changes the new team has made. They've already revealed quite a few other things they're working on as well. Chocobos (rental and personal), airships, and an Ifrit boss battle are actually scheduled to be released in the next couple days in addition to major changes to crafting recipes. Give it a shot in the next couple months.

  • @monsterfurby Just be sure to pick a server that is three chocobos in population, otherwise you'll have issues. Mysidia is pretty good, in my opinion.

  • this song is so fucking good.

  • I felt that they should have kept it purely orchestral, the electric guitars towards the end kind of turned it off for me, but an amazing piece nonetheless! Nobuo Uematsu = pure genius, he never fails to surprise me!

  • What a waist of a game.

  • @VirtualAutonomy Yeah, I know! It's so slim!

  • @madapocket

Lol, just realised. Thanks for pointing it out. :p

  • @Johanswife Calm down, he's probably a troll. Someone who came here to talk shit just to get someone mad. You're doing what he wants.

  • Judging by the plans they have for fixing this game, it's going to be WAY better than FFXIII and FFXIII-2 combined. Y'all need to see the list of changes they plan to implement.

By the time this game comes out on PS3, it will be one of the best MMORPGs on HD consoles.

  • @Galvanizer67 I hope so, but it does still need work.

A lot of work on the content side of things, though I understand that takes a ~long~ time. Maybe a little work on the occasionally awkward controls (though it's not that bad), and definitely more Levequests, or removing the Levequest limit period.

That said, I'm very much enjoying the game - both in roleplay situations and just running around killing things.

  • @ZaerTheDraconian Have you updated to the latest patch?

  • @Galvanizer67 I have. It's definitely a step in the right direction.

All the work they've been doing so far proves they actually care about the game.

  • @ZaerTheDraconian Agreed. The true benefit with FFXIV is that it can be improved and then re-released. I'm actually glad it flopped as it now means the FFXIV team are restructured with even better staff and are now more serious about making an excellent game due to FFXIV originally getting critically panned.

  • @Galvanizer67 Mmhmm. It would have been better if it was great at launch, though...Since it will always have the bad press attached to its name.

But the new design team really have shown that they care, and they care about their players too, and that's why I like the game. They're actively improving it all the time.

  • @ZaerTheDraconian Yeah, it would have been better for everyone if it was a masterpiece at launch. Still, by failing, they've now got a motivator to make the game one of the best MMORPGs this hardware generation. Sometimes when you lose the first match, you always come back and win the re-match. Look at the Rocky movies, for example.

  • @Galvanizer67 Very true, and for all intents and purposes, that seems to be the exact case here. I'm just a little sad that a lot of people won't give it a try because it's now got a stigma attached to its name.

  • @ZaerTheDraconian Well, the same can be said about FFXIII. That game has a stigma attached to the name but I'm sure some will still give FFXIII-2 a try to see what improvements they've made. Sure, some will not buy it as it's a sequel to FFXIII but some will see the (hopefully) positive reviews may purchase it. Square Enix have said FFXIV will be re-launched on PC and PS3 when all the improvements and patches have been made. Hopefully, people will give it a try and critics will re-review it.

  • @Galvanizer67 I think FFXIII-2 is one I'm definitely renting before buying. I ~hated~ FFXIII, it was really quite boring. XD

But if they're relaunching it, that will probably help address my issue a bit, and therefore render my one fear mostly invalid, and my soul will rest easier at night. Or something like that.

  • @ZaerTheDraconian I won't be buying FFXIII-2 at launch. It's about time Square Enix learned that you don't get sales for a shit game. I'll buy it but when it's massively drops in price. That's a huge difference to my midnight launch purchase of FFXIII.

Anyway, FFXIV will be great when finished. I have faith it will be better received when relaunched. Don't forget that they've relaunched FFXI numerous times. I'm sure the relaunch of FFXIV will be out in late 2012 (25th anniversary of FF)

  • @Galvanizer67 how the hell is XIII-2 a shit game, so what improving and listenin to the fans abotu what made 13 "bad" makes 13-2 a bad game, yah sure why not

plus 13 wasnt even a bad game in any way, if you think it is your just being biased and stuck in the past, now if its the story you thougght was bad but the gameplay was bad then tats more acceptable BUT only if you disliked FFX and VII for the same reasons cause their story has the same flaws 13's story had, hell 7 did them worse

  • @jsh020 XIII-2 is a shit game as it's me paying for a gameplay experience that should have been in the first FFXIII. It should be half price at release and not full price. Why should I pay money for "improvements"? Sorry, they're not getting my money.

And FFXIII was terrible. It wasn't even a video game; it was n interactive movie. FFXII was a video game with huge world and seamless battles and showed that JRPGs can evolve. Then in comes FFXIII that plays like a interactive movie. No, thanks.

  • @Galvanizer67 FFXIII is a interactive movie huh

ok if your sayign FFXIII is a bad game cause theres alot of cutscenes then FF 4-10 are now also considered bad games by that logic along with metal gear solid 1-4, mass effect 1 and 2, dragon age 1 and 2(ok 2 was just a shit game), yakuza 1-4, all tales of games

in toher words you think every rpg not just J-rpg but every rpg in general is a bad game aside form thsoe rare games like eternal sonata, and valkyrie profile which there are like 5 of

  • @jsh020 Interactive movie means that there are a lot of cut-scenes that you don't interact with. Only FF10 and FF13 fall in this category. In other FF games, you have to press a button to make the speech continue and they also have vast world and are not linear like FF10 and FF13.

  • @Galvanizer67 the first FF to allow you to say stuff ina cutscenes was FF7, but heres the thing

thos elitterly were just saying yes and no to side missions

face it dude, your obviously biased again 13 cause your stuck in the past

your reasons for hating 13 apply to 95% of games, movie, well all story driven games are out, sequal having more feature that should "quote of beeen int eh first game" so it should only be half priced, welp every sequal ever made is out, your just being biased dude

  • @HyakuZaku

Obviously you are deaf and blind.

  • @gm3dgames You're poop, get MAD.

  • @HyakuZaku You obviously were for some reason attracted to this video since you came here to only talk shit about it and to others....pointless in my opinion.

  • @HyakuZaku You obviously aren't intellectually capable of comprehending this song. Even if you dont like orchestrated music; even if you don't like 14. This song lyrically is one of the deepest, emotionally moving songs ever made.

  • I was amazed when I heard this at the orchestra. I was totally amazed. Can't wait for the game to come out! Oh and Susan is phenomenal.

  • @laithli Uhm...the game already IS out...for quite some time now ^^

  • I love that the disembodied voice that you hear in the opening cinematics is part of this song. I hear that the guards at Ishgard give a hint as to what it was?

  • Wow...just wow....

When the Chorus along Susan Calloway's epic voice sets in with echoes it just pushes you out of the space & time continuum for the time the song lasts....

  • An amazing soundtrack to an amazing game.

  • Heard this song live at the Distant Worlds concert in Chicago yesterday! Susan was amazing!

  • @ZuttoGyutto This was indeed the high-lite of that evening for sure.

  • @GameMusicCompilation You're about 6 months too late to be calling FFXIV a bad game. It's been improved so much since release.

  • @enternius still no chocobos.

  • @enternius

As true as this is, FF14 still has a lot of work to be done, and while it's not "release" horrible, it's still... I guess you can say sub-par. But it's making a slow climb to being the same quality as FF11.

  • THIS!...is the music of FINAL FANTASY!!!

  • It breaks my heart how great this song is and how horrible the game was.

  • I've been waiting for a ps3 release for this game and I know it's been pushed back indefinitely.....does anyone know if it's actually a good game now that it's been patched up the ying yang?

  • @GodAloneBeTheGlory Yes, been playing since january and the game really is very fun to play, they've made many changes as well and new content is about to be released.

  • Man, this song gives me goose-bumps every time I hear it :)

  • Hopefully you can hear this song at the end of the game when you beat Zulvan or something worst.

  • This definetly sounds like something that "hall through the ages"

  • Such a beautiful voice, I have never claimed to be a fan of anyone prior to the day i first heard her voice but I am officially a fan of Susan Calloway!

  • Susan Calloway can birth my children with a voice like that, no lie!

  • I really wish they repeated the beautiful bit at 2:13

  • @eji313

Agreed, luckly its used in the awesome opening cutscenes to 14 in game^^

  • @eji313 I wish they would repeat the whole part from 0:00 until 7:11

Oh wait, I can just hit F5

    =)

  • One thing I cannot fault XIV for is the music. Absolulely amazing.

  • hmm cool song, but a shame the same cannot be said of the game, is like when you first play it you hear this song and you think "wow awesome intro, this is gonna be an awesome game!!!" but sadly you enter the game it's the opposite, like a really really terrible joke.... its not even funny :(

  • @kozichan projected timeline for the game's main revamp (combat system, quests, transport, job system) is set to be all implimented by summer's end. I suggest you come check the game out on it's 1 year anniversary, by then it should be great.

i still play now, it feels very different to launch, with the new revamps set to change it even further.

  • I also heard this for the first on Friday at BAM. What a fantastic song! I think Susan Calloway's singing along with the choir is what makes it so epic! As a die-hard final fantasy fan, I must say she did a great job with this, as well as her renditions of the other songs.

  • @MJPona was there too she REALLY put her all into this song on Friday.

  • saw thi at the final fantasy concert at the BAM friday, must say, her singing was defintitely my favorite part!

  • This song is magnificent, I first heard it at Distant Worlds NYC which was yesterday, it was fantastic!

  • @BloodOfAutumn I WAS THERE TOO. they did such a fabulous job. it's the reason i'm on this video now haha. glad you had a good time!

  • The song is great, the game?...not so much...

  • They can say what they want but while the game continue having songs like this one,and great stories ,the game will continue being epic as always ;)

  • Simply breathtaking.

  • By the way, this should have been on Dissidia!

  • Mmm.. great singer, but this song is just a wannabe of Distant Worlds, really, you just have to listen to both and it becomes painfully obvious. Same composer, yes, but it's sad that he tried to imitate his own song only to make a crappier version lol.

  • @junks808 What are you even talking about. Distant worlds isn't even a song.

  • @kotono00

I think he/she means Distant Worlds~Memoro De la Stono sung by Susan.

I think that they do have a similar story but, their is a huge difference in the instruments being played. Ex: Distant Worlds (Memoro de la Stono) is played by a full orchestra while this is played with a Harp (I think), Organ, drums, and guitar.

So I would have to dissagree with their claim.

  • Holy crap this song is epic. o.o I love how it changes so much!

  • that "walk free" at 2:15 gives me goose bumps every time.

  • Nobuo: the greatest video game composer ever. and one of the great composers of our time. Im going to see this be performed in Brooklyn. When you hear Ms. Calloway sing with the orchestra its as if the heavens are opening up. amazing peice

  • Despite my thoughts on the soundtrack, this piece is lovely. Props Mr. Uematsu.

  • an orgasm for my ears and my mind

  • I can't sing but when I listen to this song, I HAVE to sing along.

  • From 6:07 onwwards, does anyone have the exact lyrics? Some of the lines are confusing me as to whats exactly being said.

  • @Omahazu

Alright, this might not be 100% precise, but it should be close.

Thy life is a riddle to bear rapture and sorrow

To listen, to suffer, to entrust unto (until?) tomorrow

In one fleeting moment from the land doth life flow

Yet in one fleeting for the new leaf (for a-new it?) doth grow

In the same fleeting moment thou must live, die and know.

The lyrics are a little bit clearer here:

    /watch?v=B__hgNW2ZA4

  • Me he enamorado de esta mujer

Madre mía, cómo canta... Los pelos de punta

  • I came here only for the "walk free" part.

    Peace out

  • Not the best of Noubo Uematsu, but it's a good song!

    Congrats Susan! Good job here.

  • fuking awesome female voice :">

  • Her voice is the most beautiful I've ever heard. My eyes tear up every time I hear this song.

  • Such an amazing voice,They could have picked anyone to vocalise this and they couldn't have found a better person. It's nice to see people given a chance and she smashed it.

  • Probably the best theme song in the history of the final fantasy franchise, this and Distant worlds.

  • wow this is amazing!

  • These 7 minutes go by too quickly.

  • I've never been a HUGE fan of many Final Fantasy games (1, 8, and 10 are the only ones I've really enjoyed). But I love all of Nobuo-San's work. This is the first time I've heard this song and I had to fight back tears a couple times... Not only do I get to hear this song live come June, but I get to meet the mastermind behind it. June can not come soon enough! (It being winter and very cold where I am doesn't really alleviate the waiting process either! =P)

  • Good song, wish I could say the same about the gameplay however.

  • "Why, given life, are we meant to die?" Good question. I happen to know the answer.

  • @GodAloneBeTheGlory enlighten us

  • @thedeadpianist I hope this doesn't get into a big debate on religion, but what happens is that we are in fact, not meant to die. We were made as perfect servants of God, but when sin entered the world, we are forced with the fact that the punishment for sin is death.

The core message of Christianity is that of God's work to save us from death. God saves us from the punishment of sin by taking on that punishment Himself. It's an incredible message if you think about it.

  • @GodAloneBeTheGlory ah, being a muslim we have different teachings but yours is interesting nonetheless :P

  • @thedeadpianist yeah like the teachings of murder, beheading, and beating women, right?

  • @flik221 no, those are just extremeist and/ or hypocrites who twist the words of the Koran. Islam doesnt support violence unless its for self defense and we're taught to treat women as equals and just about every muslims does. there are just some idiots who do insane actions under the name of islam and then the media go and portray that as what islam teaches.

  • @flik221 the Bible has pretty much the same things in it... of course most dont even know it let alone act on it. I think its reasonable to say the same about muslims.

  • @GodAloneBeTheGlory

God, I hate when people claim stuff like that like if it were facts. Don't make this into a big debate on religion man. :P

Great song by the way :) Nobuo is the best.

  • @GodAloneBeTheGlory Well, if you don't want this to get into a debate, don't say you know THE answer, and rather say you know ONE answer, if you get what I mean (I'm not saying this as an assault, huh).

  • I fucking love this.

  • I think the second half drags on a bit.

  • too bad the game isnt as good as this awsome song:((((((

  • This spectacular piece of music needs more views! Susan Calloway has taken FF songs to a whole new level after this jaw dropping performance.

  • Walk Free, Walk Free, Walk Free, Believee. The Land's alive, so believe. That just kills me everytime

  • Can't wait for all the changes! Finally all the people who are QQing about the game wont have anything to cry about!

  • @Katari12 intersting... if you dont mind me asking, what changes? because i rly was thinking about bying this game and hitting the mmorpg relms again, but after all the review and gameplay i have seen, the light was looking dim. so what are these changes you speak of? plz reply :) ( sorry for bad grammer and spelling )

  • @itsok89 @itsok89 SE has been making changes after changes to the game, including adding in a new 30 free days. (yes, that's 90 free days of game play)

Basically people were not liking that the game was new, and were constantly complaining, so instead of working on server stability (like SE was doing) they decided to start working on the stuff people were QQin

  • @Katari12 TBH i think this is the best FF since 8 and the issues i had are being resolved (namely problems levelling Armorer) but i hate that everyone seems to hate it when its a million times the game Blizzard could ever make. I personally love the new job system, especially since you can still play as classic jobs albeit without the title. I hope that it gets the same legion that loved XI

  • Pro soundtrack. Shame the same can't be said about the game. I wish the idiot developers listed to all that was said during the beta.

  • Susan Calloway has done a spectacular job, she is truly amazing. I wish her all the best in her life. I hope she gets all the fame she deserves.

  • Such a good song in such a crap game... *sigh*

  • everytime i listen to this song i want to play FFIV... then i remember how horrible it is atm... lets hope SE can make the game as epic as this song. thumbs up if u have hope

  • Nobuo is back! :D

  • 2 people have no soul

  • Another Great song from a Final Fantasy game seems almost all the great music come from this game :D

  • Another great Nobuo piece, this song feels like we want to change things, seriously.

And seriously, this piece is awesome, since SSBB's Main Theme.

  • i don't think i enjoy nobuo's songs like i do before. Feels like that magical touch in his compositions were now lost. FF9 music was definitely his best. 10 was still great. And then kiss me good bye from 12 felt weaker.

  • it is insulting to have a master like nobuo work on an MMO, like having Rembrandt paint you bathroom.

  • Favourite bit from around 5:00 onwards... So epic!! Can't wait to see (hear? lol) the variants and how the music will play into the game's main storyline. I really enjoyed FFXI's main theme and I anticipate some real heart-wrenching and engaging storyline development in XIV! Uematsu sensei and Ms Calloway BRAVO!

  • it's such an incredible and unfortunate circumstance that this song is associated with this terrible mmo, this very serious bomb of a game.

  • @phantazmo Time will tell. The game has SO MUCH POTENTIAL! Watch this space.

  • @Kasumuni I think it helps add to the desperation/yearning theme at that part of the song

  • how the hell can people dislike this song???????? Oh wait.. nobody does! :P

  • La version longue :)

  • this song is amazing honestly. been scouting the entire net to figure out what the damn name was and who sung the female voice, was amazing and basically the inspiration to me buying the actual game as i had doubts xD

the voice really gets you into this kinda stuff =o

    keep it up id say!

  • Where did you get the song from i cant find it anywhere?

  • This would have been amazing for the Black Mages to cover. Too bad they disbanded =(...

    Still awesome though <3.

  • Damn, this gives me goosebumps... fantastic melody with a very suitable tone of voice from Susan. -shiver- :3

  • to bad it can't be in a good game...

  • Comment removed

  • Roger Ebert needs to listen to this song and rethink whether games can be art.

  • This song is great, but it's not Calloway's best work. Calloway does a great job singing, but the background drowns her out.

Her best work, by far, is "Melodies of Life," from "Distant Worlds II: More Music From Final Fantasy." The orchestra there allows her to shine. I may be biased, however, because that song is available in FLAC 24-bit/88.1 format. The jump from 16 to 24 bits makes a huge difference. It would be amazing to find a 24-bit version of this song to compare.

  • If only i could have the lyrics.... I'm spanish and I can't understand all the song properly UU

  • When will the FF14 OST be available for sale?

  • this song is so beautiful, which I always expect uematsu to deliver, his music is the only music that truely brings the essence to final fantasy.

  • @codemasterda Yeah if your going to be working with music in video games you can't do better than Uematsu imo. This is truly epic, love the whole female lead with epic rock like this.

  • Reminds me of Xenogears :/ That was mitsuda though..

  • Not a fan of the Rock part of the song--sounds like Lacuna Coil or Nightwish or something xD But I had to find the song after hearing it in the intro--the full version of the song is deeeefinitely different. Still like it, though. :P Thanks for uploading, bro.

  • Does anyone have the mp3 to this? please and thank you

  • One word: INCREDIBLE!

I just can't stop listening to it. The lyrics are amazing, and the last verse makes me tear up every time.

I must have this OST when it becomes available in Canada!
