Excellent video, sensitively down, with courage despite still fresh pain. Sorry man. My cat, in an admittedly "lopsided" exchange gets food, security, and shelter.... and of course my Love, and in return "gives" me unlimited amusement and companionship and, occasionally conversation (yes, I live alone : ) I'm "by far" the greater beneficiary of our relationship. He sometimes expresses this sentiment as well....: )
Sorry to hear, loz. Had to put down two dogs the past three years, and it is heartbreaking. And now when I look at pictures of them, I still get tears in my eyes.

Most people that love their pets will know exactly how you feel, so sorry for your loss and believe me you did the right thing with Ben, putting him down. When the time is right for you and your family I know Ben would want you to get a new puppy. Labradors will always have a place in my heart and I am sure you feel the same way.
@Dwicker64 It was a very sad time, for the past 3 - 4 months we were hand supplying him with food and water, in the past 2 months he completely lost the use of his legs; he kept trying to get up, but just went around in circles and with his frustration he kept yelping out. My lab is getting close to 14 now but still enjoys life and is not in any real pain yet. When she shows signs of real suffering and little pleasure, I will put her down. I would think if the shoe were on the other foot she would do the same for me.
