I have a jap strat exactly the same .you have a nice touch but if I may ,start practising chromatics to put some strength in your hand and train your brain to use all of your fingers .and if you would take advice of an old Swansea veteran guitarist. get a program called guitar pro from a P2P ,its a grate tool . and then learn the free bird solo .even if you dont like it there are so many licks and tricks in it it will bring you along faster than any thing I know.
