  • What a fantastic singer. One of my all-time favs. It's sad that we can't hear her singing anymore, she would be in her prime nowadays :(

  • @Stefano94x i Can only imagine how she would be sanging today smh

  • Damn did I ever view this video?, lol. I LOVE Aaliyah, & this is my song. & Mezzo's can sing high & low comfortably most of the time. That's why they're mezzo's, their voice is in the middle, but they're able to reach the lower notes as well the higher notes comfortably. & I don't think where you're necessarily comfortably singing is what you are (at least all the time). Mariah can comfortably singer high & low, but she says herself her voice lies naturally in her lower register (timbre).

  • @LifeisMusic07 EXACTLY!

  • how can her voice be deeper and she was a soprano

  • both versions of this song is pretty .

  • this song is giving me so much life , i love these belts

  • *Sigh* if only Aaliyah sung more like this on her records

  • Her vocals were pure, very relaxed I love how she takes her time when she is singing.

  • i never learned really this Notes but i love her Voice (:

  • Beautiful voice!

  • for those of us who cant read notes myself included can you put the octaves i may get some slack for this but Aaliyah had some seriously underutilised pipes i think her voice was made to sing jazz the tone and phrasing I think her voice would of became deeper as she got older what do you guys think her voice would have evolved to

  • @bajeboi her voice honestly wouldnt be alot deeper than what it was if anything her voice just would have carried more weight in her lower register her tone still would be light she would only be 32 now so of course she would be in her vocal prime now but it takes a long time for the voice to reach its full potential

  • @AaliyahDawnTEAM i wonder if her headvoice would have grown more

  • @bajeboi she most likely would be singing in the key of B (B5) in her head register today without strain maybe a D6

  • @bajeboi if anything i would have loved for Aaliyah to show off her lower register live more..she mostly sung in the key of G3 when it came to low notes and yet everyone thinks she goes super low live and she doesnt at all not really at least..she goes alot lower in the studio but funny enough she goes higher in her head register live than studio..live she touched a C6 (Slightly becasue the note is A5 but touched C6) studio her highest is G#5..would have loved more powerful ballads like TOIGMHT

  • @AaliyahDawnTEAM me too would of loved to seen more ballads but then that is what separated her from the rest her futuristic beats and chill vocals i would of loved to seen and I care 4 U or giving up performed live and an I refuse live backed by an orchestra. I think for most people myself included who dont know notes her voice does sound deep on her low notes i think had she kept growing she would of been a vocal beast

  • @bajeboi this is less than 2 octaves

  • @bajeboi no her voice would not become deeper

  • @Fredweeezay and yes her voice would sound the same but her timbre would be alot darker and more stronger if she was still here

  • Aaliyah Slayed This song Them Belts gave me life lol

  • This is amazing! one of my fav Aaliyah tracks but my fav vocal from Aaliyah is

"Death of a playa" since im all about Lower Chest notes it would have to be that song

her runs and lower register on that song was just flawless to me gives me goosebumps

  • I stated she was a Coloratura Mezzo-Soprano a while ago, lol. I was tryna figure that out a while ago. But, I think I said Lyric Coloratura Mezzo-Soprano. One of my fave vocals from her besides "Givin' Up" & "Journey to the Past."

  • <3 <3 <3 <3 AMAZING!! :D

  • This song proves Aaliyah was a Coloratura Mezzo-Soprano however naturally she was a Lyric contralto

  • @Jovonnie19 i agree..When Aaliyah stated she was a soprano she meant she could sing in that range comfortably

  • @AaliyahDawnTEAM so if she says shes a soprano and can sing in the range comfortably that makes her a soprano then

  • @tazzy198525 no it means she is comfortable singing in that register! she is in fact a Mezzo

  • @AaliyahDawnTEAM actually it does make her a soprano i ask my music teacher she says if someone is comfortable singing in a range that makes them that so shes a soprano who are we to argue about if the girl says shes a soprano than she is, shes the singing and had vocal training and went to a performance arts school for it people just probably going off on the music she sung and u really cant go by that cause thats their style of singing and the singing soft style was hers

  • @tazzy198525 she also talked about how singing low was very comfortable for her and in her natural range so whats your point again? Aaliyah sung in the Mezzo Range alot C3 - G5 (this was the range she sung in most of the time)

  • @Jovonnie19 no she no contralto

  • @Fredweeezay i just said she was a mezzo
