  • 2:32 "Hey Chapman you suck!"

    Ten seconds later, 105 mph

  • Comment removed

  • Just so everyone knows, Chapman is going to be a starter next year so look forward for Randy Johnson #2!

  • Hey Aroldis! Toss me a beer!.... Wait! wait... I'll get it, nevermind.

  • GO PADRES!!!

  • Aroldis is an agent of Castro in Cuba there are a lot people in jail because of him.

  • How did I get here from the trash bag monster

  • i havent seen him in the 2011 season was he playing minor?

  • 黑人版的茂野吾郎~帥

  • hey catcher can u tell him to slow it down a bit? XD

  • if chapman put so much control in it for sure his velocity will go down like 99 or 100mph..

  • so much hype. but, jamie moyer will have about 200 more wins than this guy.

  • @benjie414 hes not a starter!!

  • @ekacupaj

    'nuff said.

  • it takes more than speed to win aginst mlb hitters

  • @blackrebelmuslim 106 mph IS more than speed

  • @AKAzackolorels

it isn't MORE than speed it is a really fast pitch with little movement that is easy to hit if you see it enough

that's why he sported an ERA of over 4.00 for most of his brief big league career

  • @blackrebelmuslim 3.55 career...

  • @HacksFirst I was talking about earlier this year

  • this guy isn't that good

  • Go Reds!!

  • Ludwick is stretching too unnecessarily long

  • all that arm but no control.....but still beast it out....if he had control now i think he can break nolan ryan no hit record

  • he swung early and was still late!

  • Watch this hilarious video on where the name breaking ball came from?

    Search on you tube for

Sports Science : World record FOR FASTEST baseball pitch ever to the groin , Nimrod Zack

    nimrodzack

  • that kind of pitch is very common in Cuba! Viva Cuba! Viva Fidel! haha

  • hi

  • how?

  • i was at that game right by the reds dugout it was so cool u could hear it

  • @reedhardinhardyhar12 yeah i bet u were

  • needs high speed camera

  • Gas for sale

  • do it again i didnt see it

  • Not 105. Stadium radar guns add 3 mph to every pitch. I would know because my dad works in the MLB as a statistician for the angels. The raise the speed for marketing purposes.

  • Great video. Great capturing the k, the crowd, and the scoreboard. The home park radar will not fluff the guys numbers. He was blowing smoke.

  • guy: I never seen 104 mph never, ever :) 10 seconds later: oops never saw 105 either.. :D

  • "A hundred and five, who the hell is this guy." damn funny.

  • The catcher bought a new mitt after this.

  • "hey Chapman! you suck!"

    BOOM! 105MPH

  • Makes me proud to be a cubano...

  • Dam, that was Adrian Gonzales 2 he K'ed at first. Take care of that Arm!

  • WOW!!!! Move over Nolan Ryan. There's a new player in the Majors.

  • @SilentOneCorajuda13

    nolan pitched 108

  • @abaofifsz Bullshit Nolan Ryans fastest pitch is officially clocked at 100.9 mph

  • @viperdude281

Today's pitch speeds are measured from 50 feet away from the plate, but Ryan's was measured at 10 feet. Pitch speeds drop 8-11 mph (average 9 mph) from 50 ft away to the front of the plate. So we must add 6-8 mph to the speed measured by Rockwell in order to be equivalent to today's readings.

Therefore, Nolan Ryan's pitching speed as measured today would be at minimum 106 mph and could have been as high as 110 mph.

  • @abaofifsz What?

  • Someone drug test his ass.

  • i cant even see the ball!

  • cuban pride

  • dude serio what if he beaned you in the head hah lights out...x)

  • I did not see the first pitch

  • That day Chapman threw 25 consecutive pitches between 100-105 m/h!!!

    That was another MLB record.

  • @vivalabraggs No son. He pitched 25. You can find out the box score of that day. September 24th.

  • 5 people have to hit against Chapman.

  • Thumbs up if you tried to pause the video to see the ball when he pitched it

  • Anyone notice the shortstop constantly looking back to check the speed of the pitches hahahah

  • dont blink

  • freak..is all i know what to say. that i thought until now was humanly impossible.i thought 98 was a cannon.wtf is going on!

  • @stonedawg16 IT'S THIS GUY THE FATEST EVER ? THANKS. LET ME KNOW.

  • man it would be awesome to be that close to the action and witness that live

  • Padres are having a Cuban missile crisis XD

  • @jhiller21 AND SO THE DOMINICANS.

  • to bad his control iesnt that good

  • fake.

  • The only thing to note is that the 105 pitch went for a ball. I'm sure a couple others could throw 105 and not hit the strike zone, but he threw a strike for 104, so I guess it's close enough.

  • 4:05 "Join the Army" ??

  • KEY WORDS CUBAN TALENT..........................

  • by the time the ball comes out of his hand, it seems like the ball is aleady in the catchers mit. I feel sorry for any guy who tries to time and hit his fastball. And on top of that he has a FILTHY slider to go along with it. He just needs a 3rd pitch and he'll be pretty much unhittable.

  • @mandora45 A third pitch? Hell no. There's not a human being in the universe who can hit a 105 mph fastball or even 104 or 103 for that matter, unless they time it luckily; it's simply too fast. It hardly matters if it's a ball, they have to guess every time. Two pitches is just fine for him.

  • @josephcamp100 I think he'll be alright as long as he can throw a 100+ mph fastball for his entire career. Once he starts losing velocity on his fastball he needs to find a 3rd pitch. I just hope he doesn't get hurt with all the torque he puts on his elbow. I mean look at what happened to Joel Zumaya...that dude just relied on blowing people away with his fastball until he completely blew out his arm.

  • his slider is nearly as impressive . If he learns to locate a little better and can keep the ball down he will be as good as it gets . Oh , ...and GO REDS IN 2010

  • On the video replay it shows Tony gwynn looking back to see where the ball was, he didn't even see it.

  • ''tony gwynn has a 1 in a 100 chance of making contact with this ball'' .. true padre fan showing extreme optimism

  • I watched him pitch at Great American ballpark in Cincy, but he wasn't throwing anywhere near as hard.

  • Is this the finished product of the Cuban Missile Crisis? Cubans throwing baseballs 100+?

  • @Hiei2k7 its actually not rare to find cuban pitchers throwing that hard

  • @rubberman305

'twas meant to be a funny. I know they can throw.

  • i play baseball and if i faced this pitcher...holy shit i will shit my pants on the batting box probably even on deck jajaja

  • This kid throws gas

  • @tdd10006 lol more like my curveball

  • haha de cuba pa ti 105 papi... olvidate de las 90!!!!

  • damn it looks like a bullet coming out of his hand.

  • looks like my changeup

  • @tdd10006 looks like my knuckleball

  • el misil cubano papi!

  • @deadknightwarrior101 Wow, what an acccepting view of the world you have.

  • sends chills down my spine

  • @muma0449 agree. this guy is an absolute monster.

  • the only thing you can do is bunt

  • "103. he's losin it!" XD

  • @nuclearRabbit123 I were damn happy if i can trow 103 MPH :P

  • fu-

  • hes a beast

  • WOW

  • Baseball fields are smaller in real life. They seem so big on TV. That dude is quick

  • great machanics also

  • someone just threw a frozen rope from the bleachers!....thats gotta be 435 feet!

  • Imagine being a lefty against this guy!

  • @kilgour22 batting lefty on lefty pitcher is easier

  • Big deal I'm 14 and I throw 115 MPH+

  • @Pwn3d99 maybe u throw khml not mph

  • @Pwn3d99

're crazy I have 25 years of watching baseball and never seen anyone pull 115 mhp and if it shows you what the evidence sickles to see bloody idiot liar

    Escuchar

    Leer fonéticamente

  • @evervilla007 actually i really throw around 70 MPH

  • @Pwn3d99

re crazy I have 25 years of watching baseball and never seen anyone pull 115 mhp piece shows evidence invecil

    Escuchar

    Leer fonéticamente

  • @evervilla007 i was jk i really throw 68-73 MPH ok?

  • Fortunately I was sitting in the second level seats and was able to record both the record pitch and the radar board. But there was another record set on this night. Chapman threw 25 consecutive 100+ mph pitches. Check my video link for most of that record-breaking sequence.

  • 2:31

That guy is either a hardcore Padres fan or a huge moron.

  • the bullpen is in awe and jealous.

  • This is not pitching... this is throwing. We will see how long this lasts lol. Of course some shit franchise like the Reds would act like this is going to carry them or something. Nobody throws 100+ and has a long career... nobody. This is way more than the human body can take.

  • @redbuffalo15 what about ryan, he pitched for 20+ years, and he could run it up around 100 in his prime, the thing that makes this guy stand out is he has better control than ryan did at 22.

  • @wdhoctor ryan lived in the 90's... he only pitched over 100 when he had to. thats why his career lasted so long... no pitcher throwing/pitching 103, 104 or 105 will have a lengthy career, especially if its every pitch. yeah ryans control wasnt great but he wasnt known for being a finesse pitcher... he was known for getting K's

  • @redbuffalo15 Good point, but look at Nolan Ryan. He threw at or around 100mph and had a long, healthy career. It's all about mechanics...but I think this guy is going to end up like Zumaya.

  • @aethrio same with randy johnson... he could easily hit 100+... but pitching that hard wares your arm out like no other.... you look at their averages its all mid to low 90s.

  • Not many people know it, but Chapman has a nasty knuckleball in his repetoire.

  • i wonder how the catcher feels????

  • I guess those steroids didn't work very good for chapman tonight huh? ha, ha!!

  • @ImOfNope Ha. What hurt Chapman was the total ineptitude of the Reds' normally reliable defense. Plus, Utley got a bogus free base from that 0-2 pitch that didn't hit him. And yet again, he refused to use his slider. That 0-1 slider to Utley leading off the inning was unhittable, but it was the only one he threw.

  • @avdabr Oh sure, blame it on someone else. If he's so good, he would have thrown a no hitter.

  • its how when tony gwynn said if chapman would of started the game they would of lost for sure

  • @09babyjoe yeah that goes for any relief pitcher.

  • The scary thing about him is that his fastball is arguably his second best pitch. You should see his slider, which he obviously didn't go to during this at bat.

  • Comment removed

  • After he threw 105 he threw a 103 strike and you can hear OP say, "he's losing it." Give me a break you probably can't even throw 70 mph.

  • watch the guy on deck. he's trying to time out his move against Aroldis. i think he shits himself.

  • " Hey Chapman you suck!!!" fan screams in the background........ then the 105 pitch.

The Padres fans at least are having a good time with it. if this happened in St Louis, their fans would act like a bunch of cry babies.

  • the best ,the faster

  • Who would dislike this??

  • That is unheard of ! Deffently will never happen again .. UNBELEIVEABLE !

  • @heatup123

Actually this is the second time he threw 105. Chapman threw 105 in a minor league game about 2 weeks before he was called up to the majors. It's going to happen again, keep an eye on #54 next season! :D

  • nice seats

  • DAMM 105MPH when he play team cuba he's fast ball was 102-103mph but 105mph is incredible.'''''

  • @CubanBaby585 Nope, in Cuba he made 102 once. No more than that.

  • Just fast.......

  • If that ball were to hit me on the head at that velocity, would it kill me?

  • @coolkid19901 An 80mph ball in the head would kill you...so 105 would take it clean off!

  • He's just 22. Sure as hell wouldnt wanna play ball with this dude.

  • Cool vid

  • 105 mph!!!! incredible.

  • Dude this man is just a pure BEAST

  • my favorite part of the video 3:04.

"105 who the hell is this guy.... this guy is a weapon"

    like it

  • Thumbs up if you are buying an autograph if this guy NOW RATHER THAN LATER

  • I wonder how much the catcher's hand hurts.

  • Zumaya threw an 107 mph fastball in spring training against the Yankees.

  • @159yankeeBULL CRAP ABOUT ZUMAYA!!!!!!! he is an idiot. i cant think of any other person who hurt their wrist while playing guitar hero!!!!!!!

  • I wonder if Gary Sheffield can hit his fastball. He loves those kinds of fastballs.

  • His mechanics are very efficient. I hope he is able to stay healthy.

  • lol "who the heck is this guy?" didnt you go to film him in the first place? he is Cuban missile.. LOL

  • @andyO4you Lol

  • and this video is not copy righty either nice!

  • he threw 20 something pitches in 1+ innings,,, none were under 100mph

  • :58 Is that all you've got!

  • just when i was thinking this vid is better than the pro's you left chapman to tape the radar board. what a shame you missed the actual pitch !

  • @barbarellagb ///// I posted another video of the actual pitch

  • @barbarellagb im a fan of cincinnati reds go chaptman in 2011 season hope he dosent end up like strusburg

  • @nobleds strasburg is a pussy

  • Imagine that on your face.

  • how in the world did you get such great seats.....great video, thanks for sharing.

  • Cool video, man. Loved how you captured everything.

  • Ha..yahoo did make me come here

  • yahoo is bull shit

  • I thought dude for Detroit threw a 110 MPH fastball a couple years ago ?

  • @Liago4 Joel Zumaya threw 104MPH in 2006... That was the fastest ever recorded until now. This kid is throwing over 100MPH almost every pitch. Amazing.
