@babayaga26 2D and half actually, Doom creates 3D enviorements, but the engine then shows that rendering on a flat image, which stays in 2D for the screen.
Doom conversion for ZX Spectrum - an old 8-bit computer from the early 80s. Although this is probably run on a "Pentagon" which is a Russian clone of the ZX Spectrum. It has more memory than the original Spectrum, and probably some other improvements too...
I've said it before and I stand by it when I say that, if in 32 bit quality, throw it into the real game! Sounds better than some of the real musics, even in 8 bit!

chichuf 2 years ago
Very awfull, but what the hell, it's a 3D game in a Spectrum, that's awsome.-
RaykoDrg 2 years ago
@RaykoDrg: not 3d, its raycasting, same as doom used, which is 2d :)

The game had only one medium-sized level with 4 weapons and about 100 monsters, ammo, megasphere e.t.c. and was very fun to play.
And Russians also made X-com and Warcraft on spectrum - which were also cool.

Digital Reality are hungarians. They made Reunion and Imperium Galactica.
MiracleKD18 2 years ago
Yep. There is a hungarian group of this name.
But there was also a russian group from moscow of this name. On the loading screen of this game you could have seen all the credits\text etc.
(Which tells us in russian about the authors etc.)
alexisneverlate 2 years ago
Its cool.
And it has been made by HUNGARIAN group Digitaly Reality.

Can you download a playable demo anywhere ?

it sounds like techno

eventrough I realy-realy-realy hate Techno and Disco, the music of this sounds cool.
I wonder what kind of sound card those old XZ Spectrum machines used.

What the bloody hell happened at the end?

This comment has received too many negative votes show
It looks horrible, but I suppose if it plays alright and they sort out the speed issue, i'd give it a whirl.
ukmarkh 3 years ago
Nice. Maybe the game would run faster if they could sacrifice the floor and sky graphics? Just a thought.
