Looking back I still don't understand what all the excitement was about, personally. It was an election, after all, not a victory over anything....the attitudes of course will vary depending on what part of the political spectrum you sit on, as always.

Personally, I am very grateful that it went peacefully, with bombings, coups or assassinations of any kind, as the way any true democracy should function. I however, did not cheer either...and will leave it at that.
