Sounds a bit like Dylan when he did it.Great Stuff&Wonderful pictures too! Very nice indeed me old pal.A timeless tune! thanks..your friend,Sir Winnie. (hey..great whistling too!)
@plowboyes Well, Sir Winston, I'm going to try and send a reply to you once again. Tried earlier today, but it was a no go. Was wondering what in the world you were doing up so early cruising the ol' youtube neighborhood AND posting comments. When I'm up that early, it's for a quick trip to the little room with the half-moon on the door and back to bed. Glad you like the tune. ~ Marcus of Whistlerson
Very well rendered and the introduction to this song was equally well done. You have a great skill for painting pictures through song and is a great quality to possess when you are singing ballads. Guitar flows smoothly with the song .
With regard to Jody Reynolds song ...I will render it sometime in the near future.:) Can't seem to take my mind off some of the songs that are currently running through me in a frenzy waiting to be sung.
@waverleywaters Thank you,Dimple. I really appreciate your comments. I know what you mean about so many songs running through your mind. Seems like every time you turn around you find another great song you'd like to try. Don't worry, I'm a patient guy, but I do look forward to your rendition of Jody's song. All the best to you and yours. ~ Mark
Wow, Mark - I got a history lesson and a great rendition of a favorite song to boot! There was a period for a number of years when this was a regular in my songbook, and then it kind of faded away... kind of like things do over time, I guess. Wonderful to hear it again (by you) and to get the background on it I was lacking! Excellent!
@cadwalladee Hey Scott, it would be great to hear you do a cover of this great song. I knew a guy, cadwalladee, and he'd sing for you, on ol' youtube.... ~ Mark
@coolanddark Thanks, Dan. It took a while to come up with all those pictures, but it was fun trying to match them to the lyrics. Didn't find all that I wanted, but I think the ones used pretty much tell the story as I heard it. It's raining here, which makes me think it might be time for another visit to one of your rain songs. All the best. ~ Mark
Great song, always liked it. I love the authors original version, but like Nancy, I really like that Nitty Gritty version too....and this one! Great video!
So, now I'm sitting in the barbershop waiting for a trim(not much work for the barber I'm afraid;),and I'm listenin' to you sing this in the corner with Love...there goes that ol' jack Russell after his Master....thanks for this Mark, You spin a beautiful story, as well as a song....I'm a blessed man to know You....
@reliablebow The blessings run down a two way street, friend. And, as another old barber of mine used to say, "I can take a little more off, but I can't put anymore back on." Peace. ~ Mark
I've always liked this song from long ago. Nice cover Mark ,I particularly like the homage to the late Gregory Hines and Sammy Davis Jr. both great dancers in thier day.
@ReddWashburn Thanks, Tom. Yep, they were all great dancers, and there were many more who, unfortunately, never got the recognition they deserved. Guess you are going to have to resend that site for your photos one more time. That gremlin I live with has an uncanny knack for deleting some of our e-mails before I get a chance to read them. Thanks, again. ~ Mark
Fine job on one of my all time favorite songs!
