I absolutely adore all the variations of "Bratja" they used in this anime. They make me remember the scenes they were played with and it chokes me up, either with happiness or sorrow. It's a wonderful thing when a song is so emotive that it depends on the situation whether you're on the verge of tears or filled to the brim with hope.

Though in a way you are correct the western idea of a cartoon doesn't really apply to most anime.

For example the some of the themes and images in FullMetal Alchemist are quite mature and would probably be distressing to a child of eight.

Anime is one of the main forms of media in Japan.

WTF! i like avatar too its really good but its NOT ANIME! jesus, it was not made in japan it was made by NICKELODEON!!! people. who were obviously influenced by anime which is why its so good. im surprised how many people it fools sheesh i thought you people were anime fans? why cant you tell between imatation and the real deal. its drawing style is animeish but you can tell its really anime, and the way the story is told doesnt really follow shonen anime conventions.

Anime is strictly Japanese animation, you can look up the definition of the word. Also, it was redubbed and put (and is still played) on adult swim on saturdays evenings (Sunday morning to be exact, but they call is Saturday) Currently I believe it is being played at 2:30 AM Eastern time on Sundays

1) One Piece and Fullmetal Alchemist (manga) is a tie. Too good to compare.

#2 and #3 may switch around in future. I really like Code Geass because it's like Death Note, and has the whole evil main character pretending to be good complex, but I really like a great non cheesy or cliche adventure story about accomplishing your dreams too.

Dirt will always be above Naruto, that anime is beyond poop. Filler, bad art, annoying characters, repeated storylines, really stupid, unfunny, and weak main character. It all adds up to be the biggest disappoint of an anime ive ever seen, it could have been great but no...Oh, did I mention it stanks!

By the way, did any of you know they are remaking FMA anime completely based off of manga which is pure win, way better than anime with cooler characters and different but epic story line.

If you all love Fullmetal Alchemist like me, you should really read the manga. I highly recommend it. It is very different from the anime in terms of story line, characters like Ed is different, but I like it better personaly. And the adventure hasn't ended in manga yet. In fact, I heard that the manga still has about 6 to 5 more years to go. It's an extremely long series, highly entertaining manga, you can get it for free on onemanga(dot)com.

The movie ending was really bad. Why would the animators even think about seperating Winry from the Elric brothers in a seperate dimmension for all eternity. I hate the movie because of that. But I love the manga. Best manga ive ever read as its completely different from the show in many aspects, but it's still a most genius creation. The series is a rare masterpiece and deserves its recognition for best anime and manga, despite major differences.
