I was looking through a 1978 medical health annual,, no reason just had it lying around, and since it was the year after I was born I was curious what was in it,it was a pretty useless textbook in my opinion, with no names, but I found a little text that I snipped out and put in one of my collages, it said " the other side of the coin is that the sick provide an OPPORTUNITY for others to give care to them and nurse them" it really stuck me as an odd statement

It makes sense that a successful industry must create customers for their product. Curing people would put them out of business, while merely treating symptoms or encouraging poor health would lead to higher profits. I know computer anti-virus componies maintain the need for their product by creating viruses. It is hard to believe people could be so unethical, but it happens. Why would the pharmaceutical industry hold themselves to a higher standard when there is money to be made?
