Thanks for a song that says so much. I was with my wife through her journey with cancer and she had the same thoughts (as did I and I wasnt the 1 going through the appointments and treatments.)It took me a few listens as I couldnt make it thru the 1st time. But every day I have experiences such as this gives me strength and a greater passion for doing Leah proud. I remember driving down to Florida once, and for a stretch of windshield hypnosis - I thought about my dad - I had just become a father myself - I was thinking about that inevitable day - and how I might eulogize him - now 20 some odd yrs later - he's still with us - wear n tear as we all go - now my girls are 26 and 18, &I'm living with the C from a transfusion way back when - life yet, seems more distinct - colorful - bright - & meaningful - with a lesson I believe was intended all along. ;=]

OMG the lessons. I love them and hate them. They are such an enormous thing to get through sometimes. As I grow in this life, I learn to accept the difficult things, for just what they are, a lesson to learn from. So I explore them rather than run from them. The more I keep my head high, with a smile on my face, the more I focus my eye to the task, the more I am rewarded in the end, with at least some new understanding or tool to live with, if nothing else. :).

My father passed in 2006 with lung cancer...one of the hardest things that I've been through so far.

Several of my friends have had breast cancer and have beat the odds.

My cousin just found out 2 weeks ago that she has it.

I have joined a team this year in the Relay for Life and I'm so excited about it.If I can only help one person....that's just what I will do!

I wrote this song because I just had to get it out of me. The interview I saw of Melissa just got me thinking, and the song would not go away.
