Mao Asada, Klimova+Ponomarenko, Krylova+Ovsiannikov, Domnina+Shabalin have all skated to Masquerade Waltz, and K&O's is possibly the only one to rival their interpretation. Pakhomova and Gorshkov's style is classic, and we can see where Torvill +Dean got their influence. This dance perfectly captures the nobility of the music without all the superfluous, ridiculously complicated lifts and footwork which hardly have anything to do with the music we often see today in ice dancing.
I will try again to write in english. I'm interesting to have numbers of this dansers, and others like Curry or Torvill/Dean or english dansers of sixties on dvd. I 'll pay for the work.
How heartbreaking Pahkamova died at such a young age leaving behind a young daughter that mourns her 'gone but never to be forgotten,' mother. More than we could ever imagine. But like Grace Kelly, we have her on film. Thank you so much for posting this.

I suppose we love it because it is art and sport combined. Like dance, it's beautiful and intricate movement to music, and great performances like this one by Pahkamova and and Gorshkov are so hard to come by. Thank you so much for indulging us.
And yet again loutyr you take our collective breath away with these treasures. So much is missing from the 1960's and 70's in skating that we can only dream of seeing. By posting wonders like this you are making our dreams come true!!! Thank you!!!!
