  • HAHA Ranken!

  • what a waste No Oil it must have come from Paking Lot of your School Ha Ha

  • face palm

  • "Check the dipstick, you dipshit." Truer words have never been spoken. . . .

  • lol listen to them rockers chatter

  • With no oil sounds, what does oil sound like?

  • fucking idiots these guys, quit cars and start baking bread with mommy!

  • Good thing it wasn't turbo.

  • What do you call an automotive tech that graduates last in his class? An automotive tech....

  • Ranken sucks stlcc rocks

  • And the teacher didnt even care. Nice.

  • Sounds like a diesel in a Volkswagen,

  • TDCE? overlap buddy

  • Glad i went to be a diesel mechanic at TSTC

  • wow when i went to ranken out teacher made us check oil pressure before we could hook the propane up

  • They sometimes do this at Jiffy Lube too-lol.

  • Hahah glad thats only a ford engine :)

  • that engine will run forever with out oil my friends truck had a hole in the pan and everytime we checked the oil it had none and the thing still kept going.

  • @smallenginesman My lawn mower runs with out gas.

  • lol.. I'm in Lincoln Tech and you should see some of the dummies they let pass the program..I have a guy in my class (and i'm 11 months done out of 14) who didnt know a engine needed coolant and over heated his engine...the fix a - a new head gasket and inspect the head for warpage.. but what does he do?..sells the car for scrap lls....what a go getter. Its hard to find a good mechanic wich is why i'm becoming one. already rebuilt my 66 chevelle's 350 and some ppl cant add coolant...SMH

  • @vicmason25 I got one better. There was a kid in my class that got a car with a no start condiction. It took him all class to come up with a diagnosis (4 hour period) and he told my instructor that the engine wasn't getting any air! I walked up, turned the key, and the fuel gauge read EMPTY! The same kid left a $8000 Snap-on Modus dangleing out of the driver side window with the DLC connected. I don't think the automotive industry is for him.

  • we all have to learn somewhere,

  • LOL@ all the idiots who think because they did this they work on cars with no oil or run customers cars without oil, get a clue you fucking idiots

  • had the same motor in shop class, we put a turbo on it

  • Just to let everyone know this was filmed in a college class and the instructor was showing them what it sounds like without oil

  • someone needs to remove their panties n go back to class.....

  • valve lash! stupid fucking idiots!

  • my vw rabbit used to run with no oil all the time, every one thought it was a deisel.

  • "WOW oil does that" lol

  • i'm happy thiere in america and not the uk working on my beloved car

  • I see people bitching about computers...being a mechanic since before I can even remember, I feel I can say this without regret:

    Fuck 'em.

All they do is make shit even more fucking complicated. My '89 F150 has 1 computer, and thats just to operate the Electronic Fuel Injection. I can deal with that, but I prefer carburetors. I don't give a shit if they're not as efficient as EFI, I cant stand the goddamn computers.

  • @ILessThan3ToJizz420 I agree, carb engines are sweet to work on, atleasst I know what I can do with them

  • straight six

  • Background noise ruined video.

  • just proves the old statement...you cant fix stupid

  • and these are suposed to be mechanics lol i hope they dont work on my truck boy id be pised as hellllllllllll

  • short comment

  • why cant people write short comments

  • Confucious say: Man lying under car with tool in hand is not neccessarily a mechanic!!!

  • this video is meant for all women who drive a car. lol

  • 0:18 WRUUUUUUU WRRRRUUUUUUUUUUUMMMMMMMM

  • the energizer bunny runs out of breath before a ford 6cyl

  • typical day time ranken students

  • 1 good reasion i work on my own cars,,i have a hard time working on other peoples too i dont like to but i help

my 83 olds 307 has 222,000 been in the family seicne late 80's....i only replaced the water pump power steering pump thermostat fuel pump(couple times) in the 90s and just cou[ple mouths ago and altnator ohh yeah put a edelbrock performer carb 500cfm perfomance calibrated adapter plate..dose 78mph on street 1/4 mile not bad for a 2 ton car bone stock high gearing lol (except the carb)

  • Sadly the better Mechanics are the ones without the little piece of paper saying i went to school to be one, like myself. Were the ones who will never have a great job because of that. -.-

  • @RacingRocks12 no the better mechanics are the ones that do it for years to earn a living, gaining skill as they go,the little piece of paper just proves you know the basics.i've lost count of the amount of fuck up's,some safety related,i've had to fix at work because the customer had a go himself, and failed.if you think you'll make a good mechanic why not go to tech, get that paper and find a job?.just because someone can rebuild a carb,or even an engine doesn't make them a mechanic.

  • @MyDucatiGT1000 Logic, thoroughness, and experience on top of a good knowledge of how an engine works and you can fix most things yourself. I work on my own engines as I enjoy it and have done so for 35 years. I get irritated at tradesman in any field who start up with the backyarder speech. If you use your brain and don't do things half-arsed you can do most work a car might need ( with a little help from your local machine shop - almost everything ). A dickhead can FU anything.

  • @bunjit65 no worrys, the thing is a tradesman will see more often than not people who dont know what there doing,or have to fix a nightmare cos of it.i've lost count the amount of times i've being given a car at work with most of the engine in the boot...here mate, put that back together..you have to earn the right to be a mechanic,i spent 4 years in tech, thousands of dollers on tools,i fix cars nearly every day,my brain is wired to do jobs of high quality quickly without fuck ups.

  • @bunjit65 yes don't have to be a mech to fix,but a mech is trained in every system, engine, driveline, steering, electrical, injection, carbys, computer diagnostics, ect.i get that many people without qualifications can do high quality work, put it this way,i fly collective pitch RC helis,as real as RC helis can get..it's kind the same if i went up to a real heli pilot and started crapping on to them about how i know how to fly helis.ya gotta earn it.a little out of context but you get the idea, :]

  • you coulda ran that straight 6 all night and all day without oil and it woulda never phased it. the 300's indestructible :)

  • You all FAIL!!! What a teacher!!! I'm so happy they will never work on my cars.

  • I understand this is a teaching experience but in my world...

1- Walkaround inspection including pulling the dipstick.

    2- Watch instruments at startup.

This kind of mistake can be very costly and disastrous when dealing with bigger engines.

  • Hell NO my honda need that engine

  • add in between the vid? WTF

  • I am lost for words. When I went through mechanic school back in the 1970's it was drummed into us daily, always check the darned oil!

  • i got one of those motors love the thing but im always tampering with the belt it like to eat the belts more then fuel any ideas?

  • Before you gradutate they teach you to check the dipstick.

  • press 5 for before and 9 for after

  • Poor engine is right, just starting it that time and running with no oil is enough to kill the bearings, let alone any other time it's been run like that. Shame on the idiots who didn't fill it with oil!

  • @bassbone1785 ikr THEY DESERVE TO BE COCK SLAPPED

  • lets throw the timing light in the bin, and strip this down for a rebuild.

  • Those Jeep I6's are hard to kill

  • @Silvestris420

That isnt a Jeep I6 its a ford motor.

  • @StinkyPheet Dumb shit.

  • Wow what ever mechanics school this is, its pathetic.

  • @1971BGT this is teaching them how to scam people

  • That reminds me of a class I took half a thousand years ago. Whole big bunch of goofballs there.

  • whats the point of having hosses to fill the block with water but have no belt to run the pumpp

  • @hot67500 pressurized water?

  • all these guys sound like they dont know what there talking about

  • @videoman223 Yes It would stupid 3 things that make an engine run suck bang blow suck=gas n air. Bang = spark blow= exhaust

  • The engine wouldn't even start.

  • @StinkyPheet what kind of shitty shops do u go to?

  • poor motor

  • It didn't sound considerably quieter with the oil.

  • @SubvenioArguo its not the overall volume its how it sounded after the oil ran through the system it became a much smoother note over time, being because without the oil its metal on metal with the oil it is now lubricated.

  • yep does usually help!

  • cuz i know on my honda pshhh what a faggot ha

  • Those engines just won't die I saw one that was modified to be a 250 5 cylinder after a thrown rod took out the side of the block that thing still wouldn't quit. Inline engines by default are hard to kill but the 300 is KING!!!!

  • and boom goes the dynamite

  • Cruelty to engines!

  • "Uhh yeah, oil does that" priceless...

  • i learned something from this video! not to let these guys work on your engine

  • I love that engine :) It won't die

  • haha that didnt hurt that 300 6 they will take any thing!!

  • hurray for oil then

  • Poor old 300. Doesn't deserve that. Does show how tough they are, though, it didn't fail.

  • Now thats a real break in lol

  • i love flatheads.

  • Comment removed

  • @jaredef what makes you think thats a flathead?

  • @titenate who said anything about this being a flathead. i just happen to love flatheads.

  • wow dumb asses

  • Wow. Just wow... Explains why I see so many fuck ups at the dealership.

  • those idiots are the mechanics of the future.... :/

  • @svtlincoln You know.. I think that same line about little kids "what you are 12 and can't drive a stick shift, the human race is SOL now" seriously though, they call it learning for a reason, people can and will screw up. Call them idiots if they keep repeating the same mistake.

  • @svtlincoln the r careless everyone is on somethings get used to it.

  • @6bikernoob I came here to respond but your comment is so incoherent that I'm not sure what to say....

  • @svtlincoln you act like it's hard work.. all the cars are now adays is just hook it up to a computer and fix what it tells you, oh and it also tells you how to fix it.

  • @brothersretailers There's still diagnostic procedures. True the new diagnostic tools may suggest a fix however it is still up to the technician to find the true cause of the failure. The computer may also tell you how to fix what you're going to fix but then again so did shop manuals 30 years ago. If it was easy as you think it is then there would no independent shops left and no one would take their car to have it fixed once the warranty expired.

  • @brothersretailers you sound like an ignorant customer, take my word for it, its not that easy. if it was that easy they wouldnt pay us as good as they do

  • @arman757 It's more of people who are ignorant enough to pay high dollar for such easy work. Any job can be hard enough without patience and no ability to read. Also, proper tools come into a problem which are expensive. I do everything on my own by just reading factory repair manuals.

  • @brothersretailers your maybe 25% correct. but do you truly feel like "all the cars are now adays is just hook it up to a computer and fix what it tells you, oh and it also tells you how to fix it?" because if so all i have to say is nuh uh, trust me and if you dont i dont care because youll be the ignorant one not me

  • @arman757 I said nothing about a scan tool man lol.... I've never even used one owning a Vw corrado vr6. This can be a very confusing motor not knowing anything about anything, like I once did, but I bought manuals and figured it out..If i did say anything about scan tools, then yes most newer cars with any problems that occur will be easily coded onto the ECM and documented on the scan tool.

  • @brothersretailers @svtlincoln you act like it's hard work.. all the cars are now adays is just hook it up to a computer and fix what it tells you, oh and it also tells you how to fix it.

That was your original comment. Stop backpedaling and fess up to your idiocy.

  • @brothersretailers actually yes you did. if you read your initial comment, you may not have said scan tool but you did say hook it up to a "computer." these are your words not mine. and just for the record the scan tool i use at work every day is a program running on a Panasonic Toughbook, so it is a computer/scan tool

  • @brothersretailers scan tools can be very helpful in todays workshops, but nothing will replace good diagnostic skills, many faults will not be logged on the cars computer as a fault code, and just have to be worked out, there are some faults on a car that can be a real mindfuck, are you a qualified mechanic?...im thinking no :]

  • @MyDucatiGT1000 I agree. If a car has a lack of power for example, I would check spark and compression. Maybe clogged air/fuel filter or restricted exhaust. When those things happen on my 98 Toyota Corolla I don't even attempt to pull codes. I bet the computer wouldn't log codes for worn rings or a kinked exhaust pipe. An engine is an engine with carburettor or port injection, distributor/cap/rotor or direct coil on plug. If it drinks too much fuel but still runs well THEN I look at codes.

  • @Nivicoman actually if theres a problem with a customers car and im thinking it might be electrical i will scan it first, takes 5 min and might save time, sometimes theres a fault code, sometimes i have to just nut it out,but i have found faults with cars without even lifting the bonnet or getting my hands dirty, however i do not rely on a scan tool to do my job.

  • @MyDucatiGT1000 Exactly. Doing your job by using your mind not a scanner.

  • I drive an 89 Ford F150. It has the 300 I6. It might blow a head gasket soon. The Radiator is clogged with a mud like substance because someone put stop leak in it. The oil level in it depends on what day it is. It has an exhaust leak that I just cant find. It gets absolutely terrible gas mileage and it's slow as fuck.

But it passes emissions like brand new, has enough torque to challenge a diesel, and starts when you push the clutch and turn the key without hesitation.

    THEY WON'T FUCKING DIE.

  • @ILessThan3ToJizz420 Those cellulose based leak sealants won't do much for head gaskets. You might try flushing the whole circuit to clear that mud and when refilling, put some sodium silicate (liquid glass) block sealant (heard steek seal works fine but I've used sodium silicate right out the 55 gallon drum). Try smoke testing for the exhaust, there are lots of ways to improvise a smoke machine on the web.

    Don't let it die.

  • @ruiferreira89 Oh I know they don't work, the previous owner put it in there before I even bought it. Im just gonna replace the radiator and have the head machined and slap a new gasket on it.

  • @ILessThan3ToJizz420 Hope it will be worth the money.

  • @ruiferreira89 Oh it will. Those 300s will run forever if you keep them maintained.

  • @ILessThan3ToJizz420 Just imagine if you actually took care of it...holy shit.

  • @upurnose46 I take damn good care of it. Thing is, you know what new parts require?

    Money.

Im in college. Don't hop on my case when you don't know anything about me. I change the oil myself on time and I baby my truck, runs perfectly fine.

Being a mechanic of 6 years also helps.

  • @ILessThan3ToJizz420 good for you bud, good for you. hope your radiator gets clogged and leaves you stranded.

  • @upurnose46 Yeah because I totally already said it is clogged and still works -_-

The heater works and it doesn't over heat. It works fine. I'm not the one that put the stop leak in it but its obviously not bad enough to keep it from working. Im replacing the radiator anyways when I can.

Have fun driving your moms Honda.

  • @ILessThan3ToJizz420 yeah no not even close to the amount of troque that diesel have

  • @Skipper72Productions Tell that to my Low Range 4 wheel drive and the hundreds of stumps Ive pulled out of the ground :P

  • @ILessThan3ToJizz420 Dude that's the best comment I've ever read! That's what I love about Fords they have problems but they just don't give up! My 99 Expedition has 204,000 miles the transmission vibrates (even worse going uphill), bad fuel economy also, I have at least three different leaks including transmission fluid, oil and an exhuast leak but it runs great, the engine puts out a lot of torque and it gets respect on the road hybrid cars get the hell out of my way

  • @MrAm727 I hear you on that! Mine is extremely, extremely reliable even though it has some minor problems. I dont think mine SERIOUSLY has a bad head gasket, but I have a feeling it would keep running anyways just because of the last 5 years Ive driven my truck haha. However it does have an exhaust leak, clogged radiator, and a small oil leak from a binding drain plug I havent replaced yet.

I love my truck, and I'm glad to hear you love yours!

  • @ILessThan3ToJizz420 Hey it's a Ford man! When I go to the junkyard to look for parts for my car none of the local junkyards have anything for my car because they're all still on the road! The one time I found another Expedition it had 317,000 miles on the odometer. I'm also glad to see you love your truck too! My dad bought it 10 years ago and we've had ours since and I started driving to replace my pos old car that kept breaking down once a week (it wasn't a Ford) haha

  • @MrAm727 Haha, Im not partial to Ford or Chevy though, I love both. We have a 91 Camaro too and its been a member of the family since 1994. My mom bought it and its been driven since. I got my truck when I turned 16 and loved it since day one. I'm almost 21 now and I dont see myself ever getting rid of it. Too many memories and its just a beautiful truck, haha! Even with its quirks I'd spend all Ive saved just to keep the bastard running forever...however I don't think Ill ever have to, haha!

  • @MrAm727 Oh but on the topic of being a Ford or Chevy guy, some of my buds look at me funny because I wear an old Ford Motor Company hat and a belt I made out of a seat belt latch out of a 67 Chevy Nova haha. I can't pick a side, haha!

  • @ILessThan3ToJizz420 You know man you're not the only one. I like Chevys too I've seen some Chevys do some amazing things and I wouldn't be suprised if one day I bought a Chevy. I still like Ford a little more but not by a lot I really like both. That's pretty cool though I wont lie I am a little jealous of your belt and your families Camaro hahaha that's awesome I'm glad to see that I'm not the only person who likes both Fords and Chevys at the same time!

  • @ILessThan3ToJizz420 ok you arnt the only truck with 4x4 low, and im sorry ou jsut dont have as much torque than even an old diesel.

  • @Skipper72Productions umadbro?

  • @ILessThan3ToJizz420 the 300 straight 6 is legendary but how do you pass emissions with a questionable head gasket?

  • @arman757 The regulations in Tennessee are a little bit different. Since my truck is older all they do is stick their sensor up the tailpipe to make sure the catalytic converter is working. That aside, I was exaggerating for the most part. My truck doesn't have a blown head gasket. It does have an exhaust leak, some oil does leak from the drain plug, and the previous owner put stop leak in the old radiator I recently replaced. Its been a reliable truck since I got it when I was 16. Im 21 now lol

  • Wow an engine that runs without all the extra crap found on the modern ones. Old Skool. Enjoy the simplicity while you can 'cuse you won't find them that basic in the real shop.

  • @killer2600 Ultimate simplicity was what I had on the Citroen ZX diesel, XUD9 engine. Pour vegetable oil in the tank and it runs. Never breaks down.

On the other hand, 8 liters/100 km with 70 hp is bad fuel economy.

My Alfa Romeo 164 2.0 4c turbo does 10 liters/100 km and has 177hp plus overboost. The "extra crap" brings more performance with less fuel. Either you can afford the extra fuel or you've got to have less reliability with a more complex engine.

  • @killer2600 The way I see it, the time period where the most reliable engines were built was the late 70s/80s when Mercedes and Peugeot made some of the best diesels ever. I see lots of old Peugeots and Mercedes clocking over a million km with only basic maintenance. Taxi drivers I know still have 20+ years old mercedes 190D's running flat out every day, and they're like new.

  • i give kudos. but how can they forget to add oil? i mean, arent they in a school for...well...doing this shit? in my years of stuff, its pretty hard to forget oil.. lol. and the ford 223 and 300' rock!!

    me-1960 ford f100, 223 inlin, 3 speed manual. 21 MPG

  • it's a Ford 300.... it can take it

  • greatest engine ever.

  • And these guys are mechanic students???? haha they will make great wal-mart lube techs

  • Think with your dipstick Jimmay!

  • @InCali4Good OMG I REMEBER THAT COMMERCAL!!!! i found a dipstick at our scrap yard and used to say that to my brother , HE GOT PISSED !!

  • A ford 300 i6 can run on dump, ive seen it!

    Those engines are bullet proof.

  • Who's the dipstick who did not check the dipstick?

  • Pfft its a Ford 300. It doesnt NEED oil to keep running, they'll run on hopes and dreams.

  • those 6 ina row Ford motors are awesome. no horsepower, but they work... forever.

  • My dad had an F150 with the inline 6, I don't remember how it sounded, just remember riding that truck everywhere. Rotted out damn quick, so we had to get rid of it. Pretty massive engine for 6 cylinders!

  • 300 6 good motor

  • you all fail teacher too i would have shut it down 30 seconds sooner

  • I just watched a 2:30min commercial to watch a 1:32 min video.

  • @dgdaner get ad blocker u wont have to watch anymore of the lame youtube ad's anymore on any video

  • @dgdaner adblock plus FTW!

  • @dgdaner Fuck Google and the Jews responsible for this travesty.

  • Sounds like a diesel. Somethings still not quite right.

  • @mvolesky1

    It is a diesel.

  • @godklr No, it's not. It's a Ford 300ci (4.9L) straight 6 gas engine, which was the base engine for the Ford F-150 pickup for many years.

  • @mvolesky1

    yes, you are correct :)

  • @mvolesky1 dont forget the f250's also :)

  • who forgot the oil how do you build a motor and forget oil ????? wtf lol

  • I've heard engines WITH oil that sounds worse than this...

  • ...and that's with an instructor there.

  • generally wanna tell people to shut up.

act like they no everything Lol

  • American made, try that with a ching-chong Honda or Teeyota or Nissiasheeit.

  • @rm250ar dont write off nissans VG and L series motors, theyre just as bullet proof especially the Ls

  • it'll be fine I have a 390 in my truck they are solid

  • i tell ya those old 4.9 you cant kill them believe me i tried 100 times even ran one with out coolant and still didnt die lol

  • No OIl, Ha Ha Ha. Like who cares not my engine.

  • well, sounds like engine with no oil :)

  • o damn lets just out one of the most reliable engines ever made to the test and run it without oil! o yea this should be fun! were fuckin mechanics so we know what were doin?

years worth of wear on that motor just that fast! o well its not like you need to put oil in a motor anyways.

  • isnt that a 302? in line 6cyl??? those engines are beasts they have heavy duty bearings in the bottom end and have higher compression.

  • @TheDevosaurous a 302 is a v8...not a 6cyl, even though they have less power

  • Is this what the people at carmax do in their free time?

  • that sounds normal are you telling me my car has no oil!!!!

    !

    DSKfh;rs"Jghadjhf;ahjkdg;!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
