A good movie close to this subject is "Susan Slade", starring Lloyd Nolan, about how some wealthy people cover their social positions through manipulation. I wonder if J.F.K., Jr. committed suicide because he learned the truth of his parentage? Some people don't accept those things well.

Take a look at "The Dark side of Camelot " by Seymour Hersch ( one of the greatest investigative journalist in US - see Wikipedia etc; the real deal): Chapt22 on Ellen Rometsch shows the Profumo link , and a lot more (Suzy Chang)etc.

Kennedy was a rich kid and knew life was short.He had a very specific attitude to sex, all supported by his father,Joe Kennedy.

Professor Wrone, wrote a review of Hersch book when it came out a few years ago. Wrone was not too impressed with Hersch. Wrone claimed Hersch relied on dubious characters to create a coherent, but false narrative, of Kennedy's administration. I think its on the web somewhere, I will find it if you want to read it.

I think if you look at the record of Hersch ( uncovering Mai Lai massacre ; the Clinton missile attacks et al ) you will understand the difference between Hersch and Professor Wrone.Original documents matter. Yes, Hersch has or had a great reputation, but he apparently felt his bank account was not consumate with his reputation. Hersch decided to change that with the publication of the Darkide of Camelot, asking and getting a million dollar advance. Wrone's piece focused on documented factual errors and how Hersch misquoted the documents, but since you don't want to read it, you can believe on faith whatever you want to. There is another more accurate side to the story.

And JFK was able to portray himself as like able family man. That was one reason Kennedy was so popular during his Presidency and there was such an outpouring of grief.

Alternately, in the Posthumous assassination of JFK, James DiEugenio that many of these claims are probably not true and were created by the intelligence agencies to destroy JFK reputation so you would not care who killed him. I tend to think JFK was great president no matter what is said about his personal life.
