  • Tudo que é Talk Talk é de extrema beleza e sutileza.

  • Always LOVED the drums on this, especially the bit in the middle.

  • Love TT and i love noise/punk/doom/ and old skool rave , But two voices in music you know straight away are Mark Hollis & Jello Biafra, Classics. Wish it was 1983 again.

  • great voice

  • Love You !

  • Im 17 years old and I really love this music. It sucks that the band doesn't excists anymore.. The music these days, expect rock and metal, is just crap..

  • VERY PRETENTIOUS

  • @shnegra symptomatic of the 80's

one must listen beyond the obvious.

  • What is this magic that Mark Hollis possessed in his voice? Mystical. It transcends the songs he sings, but interweaves and becomes one with them.

  • kids today no pun inteded, dont know what they missed and never will have, god we were lucky

  • Gotta love how cheekily he hammed it up to spite the artificiality of playback sets!

  • Truly immense talent. Sad loss the the REAL music world that its so false he could no longer stay involved. Come back Mark PLEASE!!!!!! Geordie girl ....

  • @Yazzie3004 we can only wish they will get back together, one day maybe, best band ever

  • wonderful!

  • für mich eine der besten Bands in den 80iger Jahren !!! Perfekt

  • excellent,,, I still love this song, Talk Talk and Japan -fab times!

  • SHEER GENIUS ... ONLY COMES ALONG RARELY IN LIFE ...

YOU HAVE JUST WATCHED IT !!!

  • @SuperFannyfarts YES YES YES!!!

  • hey kids/bands...of today...this is what a good band sounds like!

  • Thanks for posting!

  • they made history............

  • don't think they'ld like looking at this...the miming, and probably conned by the business into trying to be new romantic or whatever...but the song stands up...the passion was there from the start, and it never went away....

  • 1982 Rules 2010 sucks!

  • I saw TalkTalk in July 1981 supporting DuranDuran, I prefered TalkTalk than DuranDuran in concert.

  • No se porque desaparecen estas bandas tan wenas...

  • got me with the drummers tail

  • @gunchansky ewwww

  • youre totally right lee harris and keith moon the who both of them were freaking good

  • Quality. Talent. Great music. Talk Talk.

  • Hollis; Webb; Harris = godhead.

  • Knew it from the start -- this band diff and better 99.5% of acts then. the music is great in studio but all their tracks done live can be rocked up high and hard.

  • no one really appreciated them at the time, they were brill, nothing will ever happen again like them, or the undertones, similar groups, both brilliant.

  • Talk Talk was my fav group in the 80s. I played their first and second albums to death. I loved the synthpop sound and visceral emotions in Mark's singing. It's too bad they weren't actually performing in this clip but it's still cool to see them pretending! :)

  • brilliant

  • Isn't this just crying out for a house/trance remix? Or at least a sample?

  • i love this song a lot and Mark Hollis haunting voice and paul webb backing voices on this song. you guys are one of my favourite 80,s groups and I think that you all should be in the hall frame of music I love you Mark,Paul and Lee forever xxx

  • Mark Hollis, the best singer and songwriter of my life. No one other puts more feelings in his superb songs than this guy, brilliant as ever, timeless.

  • quality tune

  • Brilliant track, I bought this album when it first came out and have evreything they ever did. To those who say they improved as they went on, I say rubbish. As much as I love all their later stuff, I rate this as their best album.

  • video aside, what a great band. Mark Hollis is an awesome vocalist and just kept getting better through the years. Lots of good memories.......80's rocked!!!!

  • its about time mark hollis/talk talk were in the music hall of fame.

  • totally agree.looked over big time.great band.not bad for cockneys.

  • isn't that a great bass riff don't you think

  • This song brings back memories of when i labouring on the roads in a glorious Summer of 82 - great days

  • I miss the summer of '82 x

  • Mark Hollis sure has a lot of enthusiasm and expression in his face when he sings, this is their best track by far, and the drummer plays those Simmons hex drums the way they were ment to be played.

  • I love Talk Talk, pretty songs !! thanks for this video =)

  • This is a good song from Talk Talk

  • Not a bad start, but come on people, It's My life was a definite improvement over The Party's Over.

  • Oh dear the fanboys strike again. I wish we had some more objective minded people on here. You are correct it was a big improvement. I've given you a postitive review so only minus 1 now!

  • Cheers, haha, but I think I'm still at negative two.

But in my opinion, their best all around record was 'The Colour of Spring'.

  • what are you looking at this type of music for if you are going to be cynical, everybody like different tastes, hense mods pop and rockers

  • mark eres un genio!!

  • Great Song! look at the guitar man moves!

  • Pure brilliance......very talented band.

  • In the early they looked lik New Romantics - that was cool. In the Mid-80's especially the singer looked like a lately 60s Hippie - but the music was also cool.

  • talk... talk...

    HAHAHAHA

    Excellent groupe jadore !

  • Good band but the way this was filmed makes me laugh. Mostly, the back and forth shots between Hollis and the Super Mario Bros guy during the chorus.

  • To me one of the best voices ever

    heard . . . .

  • i must agree. well said.

  • @PPLUIS80S I agree an excellent voice , but you have to agree that Ian McCullogh from Bunnymen and the late Ian Curtis have unique voices that stand out.

  • Impresionante este video !! gracias por compartirlo...!!

  • Great Song and cool Bassman with cool 80s- Look. Thanks for this Song.

  • And found time to play for England too :-)

  • So Different to what was to come! But compared to the 'New Romantic' crap around, they were still in a league of their own. Cheers mate

  • The drummer also has a really similar style to dave lovering of the pixies imo. great song. great drumming.

  • I adore Talk Talk :D

  • Amazing 1982 track. Really mysterious and atmospheric.

  • I like this big time and there is a pretty good remix on History Revisited .

  • So so so so so 80'S makes me remember a great part of my life

  • Wow! that drummers a Bad Ass!!!!

  • nice to be reminded about substance over 'post production X factor gloss'

Ofcouse lipsyncing has improved alot since those days.

  • brilliant l saw this band live and a very strong voice and performance..........

  • If you're looking for choreographed dance moves and slick production, look no further than most of today's performers. If you want someone who can actually sing & compose, and a band that can actually play, look no further than Mark & Talk Talk. Cheers.

  • never win the x factor ,thank god.imagine if xfactor had happened before disco and punk.

  • @aviatrix911 You do have to admit, though: Talk Talk didn't shirk on the 'production'. I know it's cool to say you like Talk Talk's later stuff (Colour of Spring, etc.) but I love this earlier stuff just as much, and it has a LOT of production.

  • @swelstead BIG difference between "production" vs. "over-produced". Talk Talk was never over-produced. And unlike today's "performers", the band was comprised of artists. I share your sentiments for their earlier material....all of it beautiful. There were no throw-away tracks in their entire catalogue, IMO. Cheers.

  • Great Band - unique voice ! - fantastic song !

  • Excellent track..............forgot about this gem in a decade of mediocrity! japan- numan exempt of course.

  • decade of mediocrity? please, girlfriend.

japan's great, but numan blows, btw

  • Ugh. lipsyncing.... Love the band, but it grates on me when bands lipsync.

  • Their debut album is still my favourite,Rich, textured and soulful. If only the Music purists would accept that TT made fantastic anthemic, ethereal, moody pop and didnt just keep wanking on about Spirit of eden (which i love btw) and Laughing stock.

i hate musical snobs, its so juvenile.

  • Their music is unique, and I don't think they got the credit they deserved - tunes like this one have aged amazingly well, and that's something you definitely can't say about most 80's music. Brilliant!

  • The 80's music I listen to still stands up well. It is much better than 90% of the garbage of the last 20 years.

  • But some people only like the Spirit Of Eden and Laughing Stock era! That isn't juvenile, just a matter of taste since all Talk Talk's albums sound very different from each other.

  • epic miming

  • This track was cutting edge at the time!!! And in my opinion still is!!! listen to the drumming at the last break!! Amazing!!!!!!!!!

  • your opinion is xclnt....

  • what kicks me is that hollis has totally disappeared...any ideas?//

  • He lives somewhere in the south of the UK. Such A Shame :(

  • this song decleared very loudly the second wave of brit's pop-invasion to the world... what days those were...brilliant. and I consider my self lucky to grow up during that period.

  • Nice electronic drum!

  • I listen and can't stop the tears... his voice is magic

  • "Their drummer kicked-ass"...

    Couldn't agree more.

  • What a group, I recall them in the 80's and was so glad to find them out here.

So under rated then but a breeze of fresh air in todays music world. Top notch Mark I just wish you would come out of retirement, your fans are still here.

  • really titsed off with todays music bring back talk talk god i must b getting old u got to admit they were bloody good

  • max, your spot on..hollis was a genius, ahead of his time,

  • what i would do to see this band wish thay would come back

  • does anyone know what synth did they use in this song?

  • I love his face and style. He fascinates me. Oh and those lyrics and his voice. I simply love him!

  • Superb song but I think Mark's performance goes some way to explaining why Talk Talk were never a massive band..The camera just didn't like his face or style.. It's such a shame!

  • Gran banda....grandes recuerdos....

  • good track what the chuff is he doing with his head and face when singing ?

  • Haunting magnificence

  • A really enigmatic track. Great stuff. I can't believe I only heard it in about 1995 for the first time.

  • why do people state their age. like its some kind of amazing feat that you like an 80's band.

  • >> why do people state their age. like its some kind of amazing feat that you like an 80's band......

Because they experienced it and you never will because today's "music" is garbage.

Music of the 70's and 80's was great.

It's been all downhill since then.

  • idiot... Im just saying that there are few people today of my age who appreciate real music like this... sigh...

  • Im 16 and i adore this band!! if u have anymore vids please upload

  • GREAT BAND

    good taste

    cheerio

  • Why thank you! I adore this band!!!

  • thay got it

  • Lyrically and musicallly well ahead of any band of the 1982 genre and era imop. Deep and catchy... its what all great songs aspire to be :)

  • What a voice, totally unique

  • awesome song and band love them sheer brilliance a true classic absolutley brilliant i was 11 remind me of primary school brill memories wish i could turn the clock back but glad i grew up with this music amazing xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  • VERY WELL!!

Talk Talk is great and Mark is amazing!!

  • super!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • omg, it takes me back. Saw them live...

  • It´s a pity that they don´t play anymore. Great music!

  • Simmons SDS V percussion?

  • AWESOME where are they now!!!

  • Retired :(

  • This is RARE!! Interesting to see these guys at that stage - they look so 90's. Thanks for posting JohnAdrenochrome.

  • It's very interesting to note that this album (and band) would've ranked among the lower ranks of synth-pop bands in 82 (Simple Minds having released arguably the greatest synth album ever that same year), just not being significant or unique in any way whatsoever.

But they'd go on to become arguably the most influential band in recent music history, if not of all time... that's definitely something worth recognising.

  • playback much? :D

first off, great quality on the vid! i'd expect much worse since it's from '82

second - this and 'talk talk' were such a waste of talent. it shaped up around 'it's a shame' but this song just shows how excellent a singer mark is and how nothing in the song can live up to his standard.

third - yes the drummer is a maniac. i love it!

and he does kind of look like damon, doesn't he? or the other way around, who gives a damn.

    mark's dreamier though. ;)

  • Not good that hes not singing live because he has a fab voice even when he sings live....not many singers now can do that!!

  • Mark Hollis is soooooooooo gorgeous!! Brilliant voice =) x

Thanks for posting...love this tune! x

  • lip sync city, oh well I still like them and always have

  • nice, nice song

    Talk TALK IS the best!!

  • Blur 'Damien' was about 10 years LATER! my man. Mark perhaps lent Blur the rehearsal studio down Befnal Green... Perhaps

  • nope, it's the other way around

  • saw them in 1984 in Frankfurt!! Great fucking show!! And Paul Webbs solo kicked ass!!

  • I was born in 1982 and I've been loving them since my childhood!!!! This band really evolved in their Music, each of their records is both wonderful and very different.

I love Mark Hollis solo record as well, it's just pure beauty.

  • The Gift is wondrous!

  • Mark hollis,ears like the F.A cup,but with the voice of the U.E.F.A. cup,superb!!!!!!!!

  • Great analogy-LOL...Peace :)

  • man, I miss these guys

  • Me too. Talk Talk were groundbreaking, absolutely brilliant and well ahead of their time!-Without a doubt, the best 80's band ever and prob one of the all-time classic bands for creativity, originality and genuine soulfulness...Peace:)

  • Hexagonal drums RULE, as does doing a cool dance and playing the bass really high up your chest. Just 2 reasons why Talk Talk are cool.
