Melee's most hated character was Marth as we all know, but it required skill to actually use the character to his full potential. You couldn't just be a causal player and be good with him.....unliiike idk Meta Knight. Not everyone played as Marth although he was highest tier but Meta Knight well when people want him banned from tounry's thats saying quite a lot already.

@RustySporks my biggest issue with brawl in comparison to melee had to be the very apparrent recovery times, i mean for example im 64 and melee you could go and smack the shit out of someone like a huge combo even after somebody landed back on the ground, and faster too, however in brawl it agitated me a lot that you could run up to somebody lying on the ground and kick them, but it wouldnt register, and they would just smash you back, which i thought was too enabling for casual gamers.
Melee had Captain Falcon at his best. Melee had Roy. Melee had ****ing Mewtwo! Melee did not have: tripping, stupidly chasing down a smash ball and ignoring your opponents for an easy win, or any faults whatsoever.

This probably my fav out of all 3 games. It was actually my first video game I played on the GameCube. I had a lot of fun finding the glitches that made the game so much more fun. I also adore the music and designs of the characters & stages. To me this is best of the best!

Melee was great, but Brawl improved on Melee in nearly every way (except for adding tripping...that was stupid). Melee just had so many exploits that it was essentially heaven for super competitive players, whereas Brawl was more suitable for casual players (although still great for the competitive scene), which is the main reason why many don't like Brawl as much.
I like Brawl better, but I'll never forget the good times I had playing SSB on the N64 and SSBM on the Gamecube. Great games.

I don't want to get into another debate about AT's but nothings an exploit. L-Cancel was around since S64 and Wavedash was accidental during the development process but tweaked and balanced. Melee was THE thing until Brawl, Brawl killed smash after two years even on casual level. I came to competitive Melee pretty recently after being dissatisfied with Brawl's slow pace.
@RustySporks I agree that Brawl improved on melee in alomst every way, but what upset me was the change in gameplay as you mentioned along with the fighting sound effects. I can't see why they changed that. If they had kept it the same then Brawl would probably be my favouirte game, and one of the best games of all time.
I don't think video games advertise enough to who they want to show the new games to, kids. I barely saw any comercials for these games growing up so I must've missed out on a lot as a little kid.
@masterofall01 i actually would have to agree but only in the fighting aspect. The graphics replay value character pickings and storyline are much better in brawl though. I just would rather play melee control wise. It's less messy.

Melee was great, but Brawl improved on Melee in nearly every way (except for adding tripping...that was stupid). Melee just had so many exploits that it was essentially heaven for super competitive players, whereas Brawl was more suitable for casual players (although still great for the competitive scene), which is the main reason why many don't like Brawl as much.
I like Brawl better, but I'll never forget the good times I had playing SSB on the N64 and SSBM on the Gamecube. Great games.

I don't want to get into another debate about AT's but nothings an exploit. L-Cancel was around since S64 and Wavedash was accidental during the development process but tweaked and balanced. Melee was THE thing until Brawl, Brawl killed smash after two years even on casual level. I came to competitive Melee pretty recently after being dissatisfied with Brawl's slow pace.

Wavedashing is just a glitch just Melee fans just consider an exploit , Brawl just fixed it.

@RustySporks I agree that Brawl improved on melee in alomst every way, but what upset me was the change in gameplay as you mentioned along with the fighting sound effects. I can't see why they changed that. If they had kept it the same then Brawl would probably be my favouirte game, and one of the best games of all time.

I don't think video games advertise enough to who they want to show the new games to, kids. I barely saw any comercials for these games growing up so I must've missed out on a lot as a little kid.

@masterofall01 i actually would have to agree but only in the fighting aspect. The graphics replay value character pickings and storyline are much better in brawl though. I just would rather play melee control wise. It's less messy.

@96Thompson oh really. Actually i'm da best and to prove it i've been playing super smash bros games for over 9 years. And in brawl i've played alot of online people and every match i got 1st place. damn i can never play with my hard-earned charictors cause my very first gamecube locked up when both CPU and graphics card siezed up i have 2 other black and silver that have good CPU and graphic cards but they have defective spinner and lasers! ugh and to top it off i lost my memory cards!
