tz7 is also bad but better than this version from canon. Making photo's with both camera's is very sad. I tried out both of them and bought the lumix. My old canon digix 4.0 megapixel is making way better and clear photo's. I just can't believe it, I waste 300 euros!

Well, i owned Sony, Panasonic, Nikon, and Canon. In my opinion, Sony is a good brand but very veyr sensitive, not really good. Panasonic lumix, not really clear. Nikon is good i think it's for a picture of view coz the it's too colorful and pretty clear. The last one, i totally fall for canon. It's soft and clear. It's for ppl. Once again, just my opinion. and i am talking about digital camera.

feels like metal, but when you open the side panels to use HDMI cable, its clearly plastic. very sturdy though

im in the same dilema. i've been researching for hours. both are very similar. this one cant zoom in whilst video recording, lumix tz7 can. lumix tz7 is only 10.1 whereas canon is 12.1. canon is a little bigger. let me know if you find out more info please.

I just saw a report on the Internet, and if you want a camera that does both (filming and taking pictures) but completely automatic then go for the Lumix, and if you want to just take good photos and very manual, then go for the canon.

I guess the tz7/zs3 is better, because you can zoom while filming and the display has a much higher resolution. It also has 25mm wide angle, compared to the 28mm from the sx200 IS.

But the expensive battery is really annoying.

Yes, it es 2mp less, but that's insigificant.

10mp are really sufficient.

u can zoom in during video recording but its digital not optical when it comes to zooming in

Erm I don't mean to butt in and I know it's a late response,lol. But the canon in this video CAN zoom in whilst recording, I have exactly the same camera and I occasionally take videos for school. It can zoom in very closely. And it takes really great pictures,too. Unless you are talking about another Canon camera. I would recommend the one in this video definitely. Hope this helped. If you want to zoom when U are recording a vid than buy a tz7(optical). The macro is better on the sx200 (1mm vs 3mm(tz7). If U want a camera what you dont have to set alot than go with the sx200. I1m definately buying the panasonic. :)

I can't really speak for the lumix, but the canon is absolutely incredible. The pictures come out crystal clear and with vibrant colors.
