I'm a huge Clutch fan, always have been. Yeah, I think their older stuff was awesome, but I have to say that Blast Tyrant was my favorite album. Can't wait to see them on the 28th.
This is the worst Clutch song ever made. I have given them huge lee-way as far as the whiney bluesy crap goes, but this is the final straw.
Bad enough that they made this horrible song, but they actually tainted the memory of an awesome song that I have loved for years. They did it to Regulator and Tight Like That, too. Clutch is dead.
@magnus0314 Damn , bitter much? Did not know you had the authority to dictate an artists musical progression. Can't stay angry forever and make songs like shogun and impetus forever. Apparently you think so , must need to get laid?
I'm not dictating anything. They can play whatever they want. Self-titled sold 200,000 copies in two years. This record sold 3,000 copies. If they keep playing this crap, there will be no band called Clutch in a couple years.
@magnus0314 Yea that was 1995 when the self titled album came out. Not 2009 , it is very difficult to sell that many records in music today especially as an independent. If anything Clutch is accessing new fans everyday with the new music. I went to the show on Friday night and I saw people with there kids. Anywhere from age 15 to 50. Nothing will ever touch 90's Clutch for the true fans , but your assessment of their new music not being able to sell is completely false.
So you're point is that self-titled was a "sell out" record because it sold well? Could you be more wrong?
Your argument about albums not selling is ridiculous. No other band is selling 1.5% as many records as in 1995. And I just went to two Clutch concerts in a row with about 1/2 as many fans as there were for the Strange Cousins Tour, which WAS 2009. And this new monstrosity sold less than a 1/4 of that.
@magnus0314 Jack ass I did not say sell out. The way the music industry is today whether you are pop , indie , or underground it was much easier to sell and in the 90's. Look how many bands went platinum up until file sharing , Itunes , and amazon came around. People usually buy the individual songs they like and that is it. It is also a re release of an album that is 7 years old and nobody is gonna buy it if they already have the old one. They just buy the new songs they like individually
Respond to this video...Plus you are criticizing Clutch for not selling enough records when that has never been there strong suit. They play shows to get word out and make money. They are not Nickelback and have million dollars homes , they are happy having fun and playing music as long as they can make a fair living doing it. You are an idiot and an ass to try and say they need to sell more records when that has never been a characteristic of Clutch and the way they do business.
@magnus0314 I get it you don't like the acoustic stuff , to each their own but don't make some ridiculous comment about how they are selling so many less records when they never have been known to use the record sales formula to build popularity. I have been to 3 clutch shows in the last nine months and they were all sold out and the last one the acoustic stuff went over really well. And they played basket of eggs too , so I think Clutch is likely does not need flaky punk fans like yourself.
@magnus0314 Plus as a true Clutch fan you should know it's not about getting rich and selling out for them. It's about making the music they want and not having record companies trying to restrict their artistic freedom. Also the new stuff has got them into Bonaroo as a headliner and they are constantly asked to do a ton of the festivals due to their growing Grassroots/DIY approach. They have gotten more exposure and found new younger fans due to the blues and acoustic stuff.

@magnus0314 No, you're definitely trying to dictate how they play... It's all opinion. Regulator was my favorite song
